Alishan Hotel Dafeng Resort is about 75 kilometers east of Chiayi City, east of Yushan Mountain Range and adjacent to Yushan National Park. It is located in Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, about 2,200 meters above sea level, right behind the Tourist Service Center, close to shopping streets, restaurants, train stations, bus stations and tourist service centers, and transportation is very convenient., and can book sunrise tours to Yushan National Park. The hotel uses electric blankets all year round, and heating equipment is provided in winter (computer-controlled below 7 degrees C).
"This is one of the few newly renovated, clean, and comfortable accommodations within the Alishan area. The location is unbeatable, the electric blankets are a thoughtful touch, and the service is friendly. They even offer a shuttle to the bus station. The poor soundproofing and the walk to breakfast are definite drawbacks, but for the convenience of watching the sunrise within the park, it's still highly recommended!"

"Highly recommended if you are looking for a chill and comfortable stay. The environment was great, quiet, and relaxing, while the owner was very friendly and helpful. The owner requested an additional TWD200 for my 5-year-old boy and kindly upgraded our room from 3 double beds to 4 double beds.
The breakfast was comforting and tasty. They also provided stationery and coloring materials for kids to draw and paint, which was perfect for keeping my little one entertained. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The owner also kindly explained the route to Alishan and even brought us to watch the sunrise, which made the experience even more memorable."

"The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable, which made the stay fairly pleasant. Although it was a last-minute booking advertised as a lake-view room, the lake was quite far and only visible as a distant panoramic view. The washroom was good overall, but the toilet had a standard seat with no bidet, which may not suit all guests. Breakfast options were very limited and not ideal for international travelers. Parking facilities were good, and the service provided by the staff was decent."

"The service was exceptional! On the day my girlfriend and I were checking out, we wanted to spend a bit more time exploring Alishan National Scenic Area before catching our train down the mountain. Before we even had a chance to ask, the staff at the front desk proactively offered to deliver our luggage directly to the train station, saving us the trip back to the hotel. This level of service was incredibly thoughtful! The hotel's shuttle arrived at the station at 11:30 AM, just as we were returning from exploring Zhaoping Park. We were able to board our 11:50 AM train down the mountain effortlessly. We're truly grateful for the hotel staff's incredible help!"

Extremely satisfied with both the dining and service. The accommodation was very comfortable, and I could even watch the sunrise from the hotel's platform in the morning! After breakfast, I followed the owner's advice and walked from the 'Tea Mist Trail' to the Er Yen Ping Trail. The entire 1.5-hour journey featured beautiful tea plantations, bamboo forests, and a sea of clouds. I'll definitely stay longer next time I visit.

The hotel is located near the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum. Some rooms offer views of the Southern Branch. The staff are friendly and courteous, enthusiastically recommending nearby restaurants. The hotel has complete facilities, a variety of affordable dining options, and an exceptionally clean outdoor swimming pool with views of the Southern Branch. Today, March 17th, the lifeguards were very friendly and chatted with guests, making us feel right at home. This stay was truly memorable and will be our only choice for accommodation when visiting Chiayi...

Really, really enjoyed my stay. The host is extremely kind and helpful. They brought to some local trails and offered to take me to the bus station whenever I needed. The tea is delicious and I really enjoyed my stay and the surrounding area. One of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in Taiwan.

I had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Applause in the Mountain. Surrounded by nature, the peaceful atmosphere and stunning mountain views made this a truly relaxing escape from the city.
The room was clean, cozy, and beautifully designed to blend with the natural surroundings. Waking up to the fresh air and scenic views was definitely a highlight of the stay.
The hosts were warm, welcoming, and very attentive, making sure everything was comfortable throughout my visit. Their hospitality really added a personal touch to the experience.
If you’re looking for a quiet getaway to recharge and reconnect with nature, this is the perfect place. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend it!

Environment is peaceful and suitable for people who drive because it's quite far away from Taiping Bridge and not accessible by public transport. So we ended with plenty of time after arrival. So we engaged a private car to chauffeur us the next day for NT3500 from Minsu to Taiping Bridge (too misty to see anything), then had lunch at Fenqihu and finally stopped at Alishan hotel. We should have stuck to original plan to just go Fenqihu for NT1000 transport fare and stay there for a night because when we reached Alishan, it was near 3:30p.m., there's not much time for us to roam the place due to the gloomy weather and heavy mist.

Old school charm about this hotel and the staff are very nice, I loved sitting g down for a fresh brew of oolong while we discussed our future plans. But little thi ga like bins not emptied and having to request clean cups is something I do t want to have to do. Its location is beautiful but you need to plan your trip well as it’s midway through a bus route and getting to other places can mean standing room only or sometimes simply not available (we needed a private car
To get back to Chiayi hsr)
But it’s a nice place with an old school charm and friendly helpful staff. Do t forget to check out the rooftop area… worth it!

After reading other reviews, I was prepared for the worst, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. The pros are its excellent location, just a 5-7 minute walk to Alishan Railway Station. There's parking right in front, which is great for those driving. The breakfast restaurant they partner with is also really good! 👍👍👍 The downside is the poor soundproofing; you occasionally hear footsteps or people talking. However, since I was so tired, I fell asleep quickly, so it didn't bother me much. 🤣🤣🤣

The location is good. The hotel staff are very helpful and will inform you of all the information. The welcome afternoon tea is great. One drink per person and a large portion of small cakes. It is really excellent. Highly recommend.... The room is large and clean. The sauna equipment is old, the pool is a little dirty, the spa is broken, and the oven and steam room are not open. It would be better if it could be tidied up a little! The swimming pool is large and small, and the spa water is not deep. The spa is great for adults and children to play in, and the scenery is beautiful. Although the breakfast is not very rich, it has everything you need. It even provides beef soup, which is a plus because it is not available during renovations. Concert, looking forward to staying again after renovations to experience a different holiday atmosphere

Guest UserThe hotel's hygiene was pretty good; I didn't notice any dirty spots, and the duvet in the room was comfortable and warm. However, the soundproofing in the room was really bad. I could hear everything from the toilet flushing next door to people showering and even sneezing 😂. The hotel's location is a bit out of the way. It's situated lower down among a cluster of hotels and is the furthest from Alishan Station. Getting there involves walking down stairs or a slope, which means every time you go from the hotel to the station or out for a meal, you have to walk uphill, which is quite tiring 😂. Also, there's no elevator, and even though it's only three stories high, those with large luggage should be aware.

This room is basic but located at Alishan which makes it easier if you want to catch the morning sunrise. Would need to walk down if arriving by the Alishan train as there is no shuttle service provided to and from the station. Breakfast was located at another building within walking distance of the hotel. Clealiness was average and room was small but sufficient for a nights' rest
