"The room I got at this hotel was surprisingly good – clean and tidy! Since I was leaving Samarkand the next day, and this place was affordable and relatively close to the train station, I decided to stay here even though the amenities listed 'no bathroom.' Turns out, it had a bathroom, and it was a great wet/dry separation setup! I actually discussed this with the owner; he didn't understand Chinese and wasn't aware that the platform stated 'no bathroom,' so he'll be updating that. The owner was incredibly kind. He knew we were coming and waited for us at the entrance, and even helped us get a taxi when we left. He's honestly the best hotel owner I met in all of Uzbekistan, absolutely fantastic! I hope my Chinese friends who see this review will choose this hotel when in Samarkand, Uzbekistan – you'll thank me later. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures, so I'm using the hotel's photos."

"A true gem in Samarkand! The host, Sanjar, was incredibly helpful and did all he could to make me feel welcome and taken care of. The room is spacious and has a beautiful charm to it, and the location is ideal - less than 10 min to Registan and other major sites. there is also access to a kitchen and everything you need. I did feel the bed was too firm for my liking, but that is just my preference and others may enjoy that for their sleep. Overall an excellent stay and I’d happily book again."

"Atmospheric guest house. The hosts are very kind and hospitality. I did not agree on the time of arrival, despite this inconvenience, we were settled earlier than the time. Good location of the guest house is the sights in step-to-step availability. Silent in the room, warm and good hot water pressure. Breakfasts are very delicious, diverse, saturated and close to our kitchen. In the warm season it should be very spiritually, sure of it (the inner green yard, where a gentle cat walks)."

"I was traveling alone. I arrived from Bukhara by overnight train using Yndex Go. The building was at the end of a dark street. Even though it was late at night, around 7:30 pm, I was touched by the welcoming atmosphere. They asked what time I wanted breakfast, so I requested 8 am. It took courage to go out at that time, but I walked to Registan Square. I could see the blue mosque building against the sky and headed towards it. The breathtaking full view of the illuminated mosque was beautiful. The walk back to the hotel was a bit dark, but not a problem. It's a good location for visiting several mausoleums on foot early every morning. When I ate in the courtyard, small children came out, which was adorable. The mother and grandfather couldn't speak the language, but they were very kind."

"I chose this place based on reviews. You have to ask for toilet paper, water, or towel changes yourself. The drains might smell depending on the room. However, the location was fantastic and I liked the atmosphere of the place. However, please be aware of the following. Everyone else seems to have received transportation, but there's one review from someone who had the same experience as me. From the first day, the owner asked if I was going to the station for my return trip. When I said yes, he said he had free transportation and offered to drive me, and asked me to send him my train ticket, which I did via WhatsApp. On my last day, he even came to my room in the evening and told me that a car would be there at a certain time the next day, so I waited. However, the car never came. I was worried I would miss my train, so I messaged and called, but he completely ignored me. He hung up after about two rings. I was truly shocked; what kind of harassment is this? I waited until the last minute, but realizing there was no sign of the car coming, I called a taxi. If I had believed the owner and waited, I would have missed my train. I hadn't paid for breakfast, and I wanted to pay that too, but I couldn't get in touch with him anyway, so I couldn't pay. However, the difference between the free taxi fare and the breakfast cost wasn't that big, so I'll let it slide. He lent me a down jacket because it was cold when I went to Tajikistan. I was so impressed by how kind the owner was, but after this incident, I'm completely baffled as to why he would do something like this. It's just so strange. This owner is certainly fluent in English and seems kind at first glance, but he doesn't respond to my requests via message, and his responses are slow, so I can't trust him at all. I was hoping to stay there again the next time I come to Samarkand, so this is very disappointing. Finally, thank you for this sad experience."

"Nifal is a great new hotel. I spent 3 nights there. What you see in the pictures, is what you get, even better once you see it in person. Amazingly clean, tastefully decorated, high ceiling, two bottles of water, toothbrush, sleepers, and best of all, you’re asked to take your shoes off and place it on a shoe rack by the room. How cool is that? (speaking of cleanliness) Farrux at the front desk speaks English well, very kind and helpful young man. Breakfast is plenty full and individually served at a desire time. Kitchen staff greets you with a smile every morning. Hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from the popular tourist attraction. Couple of restaurants close by with their specialty kebab (chicken, lamb and beef), they also serve beer and wine."
