"Checkinn is the new high standard hostel ..I've travelled to all the Toronto hostels and this newly renovated hostel is the Cadillac of hostels . I was a former staffer of the old park .this is a serious renovation of course with its Hongkong hostel standards ...check inn though a bit far from the main scene it's area is filled with super mkts and real Toronto street life . It could use a few study tables but the rooms r kept clean and a 24 hr sentry . Private rooms r my recommend forget hotels . They could use a few vending machines esp after hours . The tv is a bit too big and no one uses it . There r patios if u choose the right room . There isn't a cooking area but there r hot water auto dispensers . Fridges plenty . The only drawback is there r no set towel. The place is kept clean which is important ."

"Great: 1. Unbeatable location. That stretch of Bloor St W has restaurants, coffee shops, used bookstores (my favorite!), and more. Subway station, streetcars, and a Bike Share Toronto hub just around the corner. Christie Pits park nearby. Incredibly walkable. 2. Clean room and useful amenities. Love that slippers were available from the amenities closet. (Slippers seem to be common in hotels in Asia, so I was delighted to find them here.) 2. Responsive customer service. My room had a small issue (intermittent loud buzzing sound of mysterious origin in the night). When I raised this with the Nomas WhatsApp number, Umesh was responsive and offered to move me into a different room. Thankfully the sound eventually vanished after a couple nights! I have no opinion on: 1. Bellis. I didn't eat at the Bellis bar (mainly because I wanted to check out the other offerings nearby). 2. Lockers. I didn't try the lockers, but they looked useful. I saw someone describe this hotel along the lines of ”it's a bar with hallways and rooms.” Isn't that what all hotels are, ultimately? Could be better: 1. My room was near the washrooms for the bar. At night, shrieky bar customers would congregate near the washrooms to chat. Had to get up to shut the soundproofing hallway door a couple of times. Not too big of a deal because the soundproofing is effective. I'd definitely stay here again!"

"Good location in Etobicoke close to Ikea and everything you need, free parking, the room floors didn't seemed to be cleaned well but other than that everything else was good. One of the cheaper accommodations in the area, our room's access was outside so easy to get to your vehicle."

"Considering it's a hostel, the bed creaked every time I moved, which made me feel a bit self-conscious. It was a blizzard that day, and the staff were wonderful for letting me stay even before check-in. Aside from the outdated facilities, it seems like a good place for a short stay."

"The hotel is well located and very clean, which is appreciated. However, I had a bad experience during my stay. At 4:20 AM, some suspicious people knocked on my door, waking me up. I also heard them knocking on other doors in the hallway. It was disturbing and ruined part of my experience. A shame, because the hotel has potential..."

"For the amount of space you get, this place is an excellent bargain. We had two bedrooms (each with a large desk, desk chair, TV, and cabinets), a kitchen area, and bathroom all for a very low price. The whole space was very clean and well maintained. We would have appreciated if the kitchen was a little more stocked, at least with a few cutlery, cups, and plates. We booked this place because we were flying out of Toronto airport the next day, and since our flight was later in the day, we were hoping we could store our luggage in the lobby and explore the area a bit. However luggage storage was not provided, and the receptionist didn't have any suggestions on other options. Otherwise we had a great time relaxing in our rooms, and appreciated the great desk space and comfortable beds before our flight."

"The room was clean and bright, the environment was lovely, and the transportation was convenient. The host, an aunt and uncle from southern China, were warm, friendly, and very caring towards travelers from abroad. Many thanks to them! For those coming from China, this place is a no-brainer – just book it!"

"This is a University of Toronto student dormitory, likely rented out to non-students during the summer break when many students move out. Access is by key card, so security and hygiene are good. The vanity had two disposable cups and a small bar of soap, tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion, along with bath towels, face towels, and hand towels. The bathroom had one roll of toilet paper, and the closet contained three wire hangers. There were no water cups or toothbrush cups. On the second day, I asked the front desk for disposable cups and garbage bags but was told they were out. There's no toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, slippers, hairdryer, kettle, fridge, microwave, or safe. When I checked in, I asked to borrow a hairdryer and was told they'd have one in the morning. However, when I went back the next day, they said I needed a student ID as collateral to borrow it. The communal kitchen and washing machines are for students only. If you stay long-term, cleaning is provided once every seven days; otherwise, you're on your own. When booking, pay close attention, as some rooms don't have private bathrooms. Make sure to bring your own toothpaste, toothbrush, slippers, hairdryer, and kettle. A universal travel adapter (like a Bull brand one) would be very useful. Just one block to the left is a 7-Eleven. A bit further down is a larger supermarket with fresh produce, milk, eggs, bread, fruit, and other daily necessities. It's about 1 km to both the University of Toronto and Chinatown, making them easily walkable. The Royal Ontario Museum is about 1 km away, and the Art Gallery of Ontario is just under 2 km. Lake Ontario is about 5-6 km away as the crow flies. The room facilities are very convenient for students. I'm not sure if it's open to non-students outside of academic breaks."
