"Foreigners are welcome here if you not are Chinese !!! I might be the first Chilean to stay at this hotel, but for Latin Americans and Spaniards, it's the best hotel in terms of top quality and price! The sheets and towels were brand new! There was a receptionist who, despite her very basic English (which was much appreciated), was very helpful! I'm truly grateful to have stayed at this hotel! "To be frank initially we weren’t too impressed with this hotel. For the same price category in other towns in Dongbei we were given much better rooms. But that changed when we met the boss. He was all politeness, professionalism & he nailed the service attitude perfectly. First he offered us a half day Dandong tour at a reasonable price. He took care of all the related arrangements including taking us for a quick lunch. In the evening we happened by the barbecue stall he was manning & had a meal there. The next morning he helped us with our luggage, suggested a good place for breakfast & then called a taxi for us. His attention to details was meticulous. But what eventually made him stand out from the rest: In his haste to check out my partner had neglected to take his wallet from the desk where it was hidden among all the paraphernalia. Failing to contact us via WeChat the boss rushed to the railway station in his motorbike just to return us the missing wallet. He truly went above & beyond his duty & for that we are infinitely grateful to him. In conclusion should you ever visit Dandong do yourself a favour. Let this remarkable man take care of you. You will appreciate his genuine warm & sincere hospitality. And yes, the location of this hotel is superb. The popular Broken Bridge tourist attraction is just metres away."

"Traveling with my family, we booked this hotel by the river. The hotel entrance is conveniently located, right next to the Goryeo Hotel, which even has North Korean staff. The curved hallway is quite beautiful. Overall, the hotel gives a great impression. The room has smart facilities and equipment, the beds are comfortable, and the hygiene is good, making for a reassuring stay. My family all said it was a great hotel choice, and the price was economical and affordable. We'll definitely stay here again next time we visit Dandong."

"This was my first time experiencing a guesthouse like this, and as far as the accommodation itself, 'Chuhe' left very little to complain about. The room was clean, spacious, bright, and featured a modern design. However, the self-check-in process – with no external signage, no front desk inside, and no staff present – is likely something many people haven't experienced before, or it might not be for everyone. First, it was difficult to find. Asking locals for directions based on the address and building number was useless; they had no idea where the entrance was! I had to contact them via phone, and they remotely guided me to the location (a process where the owner knew exactly what was going on, but the guest was clueless, making it time-consuming and inefficient). Then, they instructed me on how to operate the elevator, enter the main door, and get into the room. If I had arrived at night, in bad weather, or with a lot of luggage, it would have been even more of a hassle. I wasn't aware of 'Chuhe's' setup when I booked, so I tried to find it the traditional way, to no avail. Luckily, my companion had a similar experience before, so the delay was minimal. Given that this is a new concept, guests need time to adapt and decide if it's for them. Perhaps it would be helpful to clearly state this on the booking page and provide simple instructions or clarifications. This would allow guests to assess if it's suitable for them and book with a clear understanding. One warning: the sharp corners of the wooden bed frame under the mattress are quite pointed. I already scraped my shin on it. They should really add corner protectors!"

"Both owners are friendly. The facilities are old and worn, but they're clean and well-maintained. The Yalu River is within walking distance, and Danqiao Bridge is within walking distance. You can get there by Didi for around 5 yuan. The restaurants around the property are also quite good. I recommend this place to anyone looking for budget accommodations."

"The room was pretty good. Even though it had a small window, the facilities were excellent and it was perfectly sufficient for one person. I was traveling alone, and the front desk staff was very thoughtful. They even called me to remind me about something I had left behind so I could come back and pick it up."
