Kunming · Dongsi Street Jinglu | A Sky Courtyard in the Heart of the Bustle
Tucked along Dongsi Street, just steps from Kunming’s landmark Jinma Biji Archway commercial district, lies a hidden retreat. At its core, the hotel features a rare hollow central courtyard—a masterpiece of borrowed scenery, layered rockwork, and flowing water that creates an airy, serene garden vignette. Winding sky corridors rise floor by floor, and with every step, light and greenery shift in delightful interplay, turning each corner into a living painting.
With over forty guest rooms spread across three floors, the true highlight awaits on the third-floor sky garden. Every room on this level boasts a private, generously sized viewing terrace—offering sweeping views of the distant city skyline by day and the lively tapestry of old-town streets below, each scene enchanting in its own way, whether under sunlight or starry night. Interiors are inspired by nature: warm, textured wood, crisp white brightness, and tasteful accents with a local Yunnan flair—blending rustic charm with modern comfort.
We are dedicated to crafting a philosophy of living: “Step out into the vibrant world, step back into peaceful stillness.” By day, sip tea in the courtyard garden as breezes pass; by night, enjoy a quiet drink on your terrace under the stars. More than a stopover, we wish to be your home away from home—from dawn to dusk, free to be yourself, doing what brings you joy.
Stay here, and quietly savor the gentlest moments of Kunming.
"My most delightful discovery during my trip to Kunming was definitely the Zhenshi Wolun Boutique Hotel. Tucked away in the city center, stepping inside immediately transports you from the hustle and bustle into a serene haven. The Yunnan-style courtyard design exudes the elegance of a Jiangnan garden, with a flowing stream and koi fish in the central courtyard, and swaying bamboo shadows. Even the air carries the fresh scent of plants. Waking up to birdsong in the morning and watching the sunset from the veranda in the evening, my breathing just slowed down. The details in the room truly touched my heart – soft bedding paired with ethnic embroidered bed runners, and warm yellow lighting reflecting off the wooden floors created an incredible ambiance. The bathroom was clean and fresh, the toiletries had a subtle fragrance, and even the dried flower decorations by the window showed thoughtful touches. Every detail spoke of meticulous care. My favorite parts were the hotel's public spaces, especially the Chinese tea house on the second floor and the sky garden on the third floor – every corner was picture-perfect. The front desk service was incredibly attentive too; they enthusiastically recommended local delicacies and sightseeing routes, making me feel very welcome. Located in the heart of the city yet away from the noise, Zhenshi Wolun, with its courtyard, truly encapsulates Kunming's gentleness and poetic charm. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kunming!"
