"Traveling with family, the guesthouse is located not far from the main gate of the village, which is also the starting point for exploring the village. It's especially beautiful at night when the lights are on. Outside the village gate is a square, and you can even watch performances from the guesthouse upstairs, perfect if you want to avoid the crowds. There's a small river in front, and the flowers in the courtyard are exceptionally vibrant. The owner also has an adorable 8-month-old dog. The room itself is clean and tidy, and the owner is incredibly kind, offering tips on what to do and recommending great food. We had a wonderful trip overall."

"I rarely book a homestay, but the homestay I stayed in this time gave me too many surprises. Good service: car pick-up, help carry boxes, responsive, very good communication. "A perfect weekend getaway from the bustling city. Tucked away in the mountainous countryside of Guizhou, Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic Minority Village in only three hour ride via high speed train from Guangzhou. The village is quite developed, offering shuttle service to and from the railway station for 10RMB each way. You can also arrange a private ride for 50RMB into the village. The village entrance fee allows 6 days of access into the village for 80RMB. I chose to stay at the Comfort Zhaoxing Inn next to the canola fields, away from the main attractions for a quieter stay. I can see swallows swooping, bugs chirping, and frogs croaking in the fields. My room has floor to ceiling windows offering great views of the mountains, fields, and rice terraces. Remote villages in the mountains are also visible. The inn is ran by a friendly couple. They offer sumptuous breakfast with generous portions. They picked up and assisted with my luggage at the village shuttle station. The village itself is for pedestrian only. They offer complimentary shuttle services every 15-20 minutes that makes various stops if you don’t feel like walking. It was relaxing to stroll along the river and around the village. Instead of taking a shuttle (20RMB round trip) to the rice terraces of TangAn Village, I took the trail that the locals used for centuries before shuttles were available. The trail was paved, crossing creeks, winding through the mountains and rice fields for 7.5km with an elevation gain of about 1,000 meters. The views were spectacular and the food were amazingly delicious and very affordable. I used Zhaoxing Village as a hub for accessing other remote villages. Shuttle buses offering two departures to Huanggang, Basha ethic villages (about an hour ride). Though if there is not enough passengers, they may cancel the service. My stay was memorable, and I plan to go back when the canola flowers are blooming."

"The room was spacious and clean, with a window offering a view outside and a place to dry clothes. The owners were very kind; the landlady helped us with our luggage and gave us detailed directions on good restaurants, directions to the village, and show times. The room was large and clean, and they provided many amenities not found in other hotels, such as mosquito repellent and disposable face towels. There was also free fruit downstairs, including plums, which was quite delicious. The owners even let us try their wines—a variety to sample. The owners were incredibly kind, providing transportation to and from the hotel and even taking us to the high-speed rail station. Their prices were very reasonable; after comparing several hotels, this was the best. You can also have a barbecue at the owners' place; they cooked some dishes and we ate and drank together. The landlady's grilled chicken wings were delicious and fragrant, even better than barbecue in Shenzhen. The bed was very comfortable and soft. I highly recommend this mountain view room; it's excellent."

"The room is clean and the facilities are new. The air in the bathroom is very soft. The homestay is the same as the pictures shown by the store.
