The Kawana Hills is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Ito will find that the Kawana Hills is a fantastic accommodation choice. With Kawana Station just 2km away and Haneda Airport only 89km away, transportation is very convenient. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Komuro Shrine, Dinosaurs Plaza and Renkei-ji Temple all nearby. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel. Our guests consider this hotel to have excellent service.

"This hotel is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Ito Station, right by the sea. There's a road downstairs, so be aware that if your room faces the ocean, you might hear traffic noise at night, which could be an issue if you're a light sleeper. Ito feels like a charming small town; it's not too crowded, and exploring the local shops and streets was quite enjoyable.
The room was quite spacious for Japan, though the facilities were a bit dated, everything was still very clean. We slept directly on the tatami mats and didn't use the TV or anything. Note that they have two buildings separated by the road in front of the reception. They also offer hot springs and private baths, but we didn't have time to try them.
For service, two elderly gentlemen handled our check-in, and they spoke English."

"❤️ The hotel service was excellent. An elderly gentleman even helped wipe down our suitcases. The room had the AC turned on in advance, and hot water was prepared and kept warm for us.
❤️ Our names were written on the shoe cabinet beforehand, and also on the board by the entrance.
❤️ There are hot springs on the 2nd and 4th floors. The pools are a bit small, but super clean. The 4th floor has an outdoor one.
❤️ The location is about an 8-10 minute walk from Ito Station.
💙 The hotel itself was a bit cold inside, and the facilities weren't very numerous or comprehensive; it's more of an older-style onsen hotel.
🧡 The room had a toilet, which was mini but clean.

"We had a lovely stay at Himalaya Sea. We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer. Incredibly clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, amazing sea views, a nice little pool for cooling off in, as well as private and shared Onsen. They were able to accommodate us and provided a vegetarian breakfast. The free drinks (sodas, juice, wine, whiskey, etc) were appreciated. Thank you Himalaya Sea, we hope we can come back again some day!"

"We stayed for two nights with our two medium-sized female dogs. I feel bad that our dogs gave the hotel's resident dog, Nagi-chan (a cute boy), a cold shoulder despite his enthusiastic welcome. The hotel was meticulously clean everywhere, which made our stay very comfortable. The room was spacious and the interior was lovely. We really appreciated them providing a dog crate bed. Outside the window, we saw two squirrels climbing trees and many birds singing. The lobby was also spacious with comfortable sofas and even manga! I found some manga I used to love and quickly devoured them. Next time, I'd like to read the rest. The nights were very quiet, allowing us to relax completely. We also had the bath to ourselves, which was great. I'll definitely stay here again when I visit Izu."

"Beautiful onsen — our favorite stay in Japan with my family! The traditional breakfast was delicious with a very large selection of dishes. The rooms are gorgeous, quiet, and spacious — and everything was exceptionally clean. The cleaning crew truly does an amazing job.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, making us feel warmly welcomed. The location is excellent, just a short walk from the train station, and having a washer and dryer available for guests was a big plus.
Highly recommended — we would love to stay here again!"

"I chose this hotel primarily for its location and the fact that there aren't many Chinese guests, which was perfect. The overall environment is great, and the staff always greeted us warmly. "It's a bit of a walk from ITO station with a suitcase. A taxi is about 800-1000 yen. There's no water cooler or coffee machine. The five onsen are enough for everyone. Breakfast is modest, but the scrambled eggs and sausages are okay.
But the Japanese-style room with a view of the city and mountains is fantastic! The mountain air and sea are fantastic! The sea is also about 20 minutes away, so it's a good walk."

AAnonymous UserI booked Izu-shu a month in advance as my base during this year's trip to Izu. The room was clean and tidy, with a perfect ambiance for the journey. Although it was a rainy day, the beautiful misty atmosphere didn't dampen my spirits in Izu. The breakfast was delicious, the music in the common areas was soothing, and the fatigue from a full day of hiking along the coastline in Futo was dispelled by the hot spring I booked for the evening. I really look forward to opening up family bookings in the future so I can bring my children to make this trip even more perfect.

VVegan 美味しいI had a fantastic experience at Forest Glaming! The staff, including Mr. Terada & the cool dude with long hair, were not only incredibly friendly but also made an effort to communicate with me in English and encouraged my attempts at speaking Japanese. Despite missing the shuttle bus, Mr. Terada kindly came to pick me up. The resort is a serene haven, offering tranquility and the cleanest toilets I've ever encountered. ✨Being tented near the shower and toilet facilities was an added bonus. 😮💨The food was outstanding, especially the aged domestic beef 🍖 BBQ. The only disappointment was not having the chance to share the wonderful dinner with the staff. I totally recommend Forest Glaming to anyone seeking a rejuvenating escape with exceptional service and facilities. The staff's warmth and willingness to engage in different languages truly enhanced my stay. Fantabulous!!! 😍🥰

GGuest UserThis guesthouse, run by a fellow Shanghainese, was a smooth stay. We spoke each other's native tongues and enjoyed pick-up and drop-off services from the station and attractions. The rooms were very clean, the environment was pleasant, and there was even a terrace where you could occasionally see squirrels darting around. After a long day of sightseeing, I could relax in the hot springs and sleep soundly until I naturally woke up. I loved the slow pace of life in Izu and would definitely come back again.

GGuest UserThe family booked a triple room, the boss adjusted it to 205, twin beds plus tatami, the room boss, living in 5-6 people is no problem. There is a kitchen. Free drinks in the lobby on the first floor, and it is very pleasant to sit and play games at night. From Izu Plateau Station to the hotel, you can make an appointment to pick up or take a taxi. The local road is narrow and it is all uphill and downhill. It is too inconvenient to drag your luggage. Quiet surroundings, you can see the sea from a distance

The owner was very considerate. Not only did he introduce us to the surrounding attractions in detail, but he also gave us a lot of practical travel suggestions.
The environment of the B&B is even better. The room is clean and tidy, and the layout is very warm and Japanese, making people feel as comfortable as at home. The public area is also very comfortable, and the hot spring ♨️ is also very suitable for families.
It must be mentioned that this B&B is very close to the Jogasaki Coast, and it is very convenient to travel. You can just walk there, and the scenery along the way is also very beautiful.

Key Point: The hotel includes a one-day admission ticket, allowing access to three attractions within one day:
(Cactus Zoo, Izu Granpal Park, and the New York Lighting Museum Garden). We recommend checking in after visiting Mt. Omuro, enjoying a one-night stay with two meals at the onsen (hot spring), and then visiting the above attractions the next day! Perfect for families and couples!
We recommend driving or walking to the hotel from Mt. Omuro/the zoo.
Environment and Location: The hotel is located next to Mt. Omuro, about a 10-minute walk from the Mt. Omuro Ropeway; it also has a private entrance to the Cactus Zoo (accessible via a gate next to the hotel). The hotel features a terrace and platform with stunning surrounding views, perfect for taking photos, overlooking the sunrise, night views, and Mt. Omuro.
Rooms and Facilities: Spacious rooms with a semi-Western, semi-Japanese design.
Meals: The hotel offers a Japanese set breakfast and a kaiseki dinner.

GGuest UserThe structure seems to be a legacy of the bubble era. The luxurious layout allows you to move between the main building and each building via pedestrians.
It's reminiscent of the 5-star hotels of Phuket and Bali of the past. The all-inclusive plan also feels like good value.
Unfortunately, however, maintenance of the interior and exterior has not kept up, and various parts are badly deteriorated. The bathhouse is also made of good granite, so it should be polished properly. The exterior walls are so black that you want to use a Karcher cleaner. I wish it was a little cleaner.

CcometdebrisI stayed at Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace for 5 nights booking though Trip.com. Be warned that problems may occur when booking through travel websites such as this one. I booked a standard room with no meals. What I did not know however, was that this reservation did not include any room cleaning services for the entire stay, no taking of garbage or towel replacement, no bed making, nothing at all. When I contacted the travel website to show my disappointment, they immediately contacted the hotel requesting a full refund. I did not expect a full refund for my entire stay. What I did expect, was for someone to acknowledge the fact that this important piece of information should have been indicated someone on the online reservation confirmation. Neither the travel site nor the hotel would acknowledge this.
The travel site replied with a response from the hotel, saying that I was a regular guest and knew about this “regulation”. It’s true, I have visited Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace on several occasions when housekeeping services were not included. However, this was clearly indicated on the reservation, and I stayed during the COVID STATE OF EMERGENCY, when it was standard practice for many hotels to exclude cleaning services. My recent stay was at the beginning of August, WHEN THE STATE OF EMERGENCY AND COVID RESTRICTIONS HAD BEEN LIFTED. It is no longer standard practice to exclude cleaning services at hotels in Japan.
The hotel stated that I visited the front desk every day to get towels and never mentioned the need to clean the room. This is untrue. I only came to the front dest 2 times during my stay, and this is because room cleaning staff entered my room on 2 occasions, so I was expecting them to clean or take out the trash, but they did nothing and left. I expected them to return, however, they never did. The bottom line is the hotel is responsible for communicating their services to customers, especially after covid restrictions have been lifted. Blaming guests for their lack of communication is completely unprofessional.
Now in regards to the hotel itself, I have stayed here on several occasions, I find it to be perfect, mainly because of the location and modest room size. The hotel is conveniently located near Lake Ippeki (Ippekiko) and there is plenty of nature and a few trails in the area. You can step out the door and be on a simple hiking trail within minutes. It’s a very quiet area and very good for children and families. Though the hotel is dated, the rooms are all quite large and include a living room, kitchen with cooking supplies and dishes (but no forks or spoons), a large bath, and both Western and Japanese style bedrooms. Some may be discouraged by the age of the hotel (it’s quite old and could use some renovation), but if you don’t mind that, then I would highly recommend staying here. One point that I need to mention is in regards to the bedrooms. The hotel has replaced their blackout curtains with super thin curtains which allow sunlight to easily shine through. We were woken up at 5:00 am every morning because of the bright sunlight in our room. If you’re a light sleeper, please take note. I wish management would consider this. Also, it’s highly recommended that guests come by car, public transportation is very inconvenient in the area.
Overall, Izu Ippeki Lake Lakeside Terrace is a very convenient place for a reasonable price. I will definitely be staying here again in the future, but hope that they act with a little more professionalism and consider the fact that the covid state of emergency ended long ago.

GGuest UserOld hot spring ♨️ hotel, facilities are very Showa atmosphere. However, for this price, there is actually nothing to be picky. About 1,000 yuan includes two meals including drinks, which is very cost-effective. The hotel is basically local guests, and most of the elderly guests. There are three hotels with the same group on one street 🏨. If you are interested, you can soak in the hot springs of the three with the room key. The hotel is a ten-minute walk from Ito Station, and there is also a free welcome shuttle bus, which has moments on the official website. The traffic is very convenient, there are direct buses to Dashishan and Chenghuang Coast.

MMic890The staff here are very helpful and polite, they even helped me to contact the next hotel for clarification. Only I recommend them to build a store room around the parking lot so that the huge size of the luggage can be left there for overseas traveller and no need to bring up to the hotel by walking the long stairs, if any. Also, they can provide a simple map in the website to locate their exact hotel location and nearby shops, cafe and supermarket, train station, etc. For me, I had a great experience spent in this hotel. If you like to see sunrise, it also a good place to stay in ocean view room. If you like running, you can run along the hill side with wonderful ocean view.
