"Pros: It's in the center of the village, but not the noisiest. Situated slightly off the main street, there's no traffic noise. There are no noisy bars nearby. The building is three stories high, and I stayed in a deluxe room on the second floor. All standard rooms have windows facing the wall. The deluxe room is spacious. The room has everything you need – a good refrigerator, not too small, it works even if you leave it and the key card locks all the electrical systems. The air conditioning worked well. The mattress is comfortable. The linens are silky, decent quality. Two bottles of water and juice or cookies were brought daily. There were noodles and coffee in the room. Cons: Soundproofing is problematic; you can hear every sound from the neighboring rooms. The walls are probably made of plasterboard. The door didn't close properly and slammed, and it slammed in all the rooms. A rubber band could have been put in to stop it from slamming. If someone turned on the air conditioner, my brain would vibrate from the roar of the external unit. It was impossible to stay in the room. So I didn't turn on my air conditioner. No one had ever heard of a vibration damper for an air conditioner, and it was bad. The loudest noise was from a Thai woman from a local family whose house was across from the hotel. She screamed and howled constantly at her dog, spending all day on the balcony, starting every day as early as 6 AM and not finishing until 10 PM. In the bathroom, the shower was almost directly over the toilet, the floor was wet, and there was nothing to wipe it with. Half the electrical outlets were damaged. There weren't any near the bed. Overall, the hotel is recommendable if you don't mind the shortcomings mentioned."

"At first they could not find the reservation. The room was good, old but wel kept and clean. Aircon worked well but the shower had no pressure. When we mentioned this at reception it was fixed within hours. The gardens were cut but the gardener left all cuttings whete they were so we cleaned our own path. The coffee and teacans were so dirty we did not even toych them, but thete was a coffeemachine that worked slowly as well. Bad coffee though🙃. Very good yoghurt, fresh baked/fried eggs and a choice of asian food. Only melon for fruit and juice was the usual sugarwater. Chairs with parasols and good matrasses on a great part of the beach, and although it was never clean of leaves, there were some guys shoving some leaves around every morning. This place has a lot going for it, but, like the rest of Samed, it lacks enthusiasm and selfrespect. High prices are okay, but only if the standard is a bit higher. There is trash EVERYWHEREon Samet, and I mean stinky big piles of black bags, matrasses and plastic bottles. Behind one beach where we walked to, it smelled as there was a corpse lying around. That was not at our beach luckily, but Samed is small and I think things can be ran a lot better with the amount of money coming in."

"I have stayed at Flamingo Villa before (In the Garden Room), but this time I decided to stay in the loft room, which apparently is called the Family Room. Flamingo Villa is somewhat strange, since the ”Hotel” is basically three rooms within the Samed Your House hotel. Our neighbors actually knocked on our door to try and check in ~ You need to call the phone number for Flamingo Villa in order to check in, as someone will come out to meet you. So, bottom line up front: Flamingo Villa is awesome, but get ready to kill a lot of mosquitos! The owners do a good job of lighting incense sticks to try and keep the them away, but there are fountains around the area and the mosquitos are no joke. I would say I killed at least 10 in our room, so it is super important to make sure you close the sliding doors behind you every time you go in and out of the room. The Family Room was awesome. The lower floor is basically a living room with a large day bed and a big TV with great speakers. The toilet room is separate from the shower. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep, but once you get up there it is really nice. There are two queen beds in the loft, and the glass wall and sliding door separate the bedroom from the main room, which is great because the bedroom has its own AC unit, and the glass keeps out the mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable, but be careful because the ceiling is very low above the beds. The view from up in the loft is very peaceful, and the owners obviously spent a lot of time decorating the place (The Christmas tree was still up while we were there). The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach, and the pier for the ferry is only a 10 minute walk ~ but you can take a mini bus if you would like. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, and there are two 7-11s close to the beach. We rented a motor bike the last time we were in Koh Samed, but Sai Kaew Beach seems to be the nicest on the island, so we just hung out there. I love Flamingo Villa, and I am sure I will stay there again in the future."

"We had such a lovely stay at The Salil Hotel Sukhumvit 57 – Thonglor and would absolutely come back again. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Thonglor, close to great restaurants, cafes, and nightlife, but still peaceful enough to relax properly. It made getting around Bangkok very easy. The hotel itself is beautiful, well maintained, and everything was spotless. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, which made our stay feel effortless. Breakfast was definitely a highlight. There was a great variety of options, fresh ingredients, and something for every mood. It was the perfect way to start each day. Most importantly, the staff were incredibly friendly, warm, and always helpful. From check in to check out, they made us feel welcome and taken care of. Overall, such a great experience. Comfortable, convenient, and genuinely enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again."

"This hotel is located at the quiet end of the beach Very clean room and maids very sweet and friendly The grounds are clean and well looked after Breakfast on the beach side restaurant with friendly staff Good choice for breakfast The only problem I have with this hotel when you are paying nearly 3500 THB a night is not enough beach furniture When see people not guest at the hotel coming early and reserving their chairs and umbrella by put down a towel and moving furniture around then going away for a few hours coming back with friends There is one umbrella and 3 chairs per set Most people are in couples so only need 2 chairs If have children staff should provide a mat under the umbrella Staff shouldn't let guests move furniture around This way more guests at hotel can get a space on the beach We had breakfast at 7.30am and by 8am we had too rush too get our space on the beach before all gone A nice hotel and nice clean beach Just stop non guests using furniture and moving around When you are paying good money too stay here You want a spot on the beach The other option is too sit in restaurant all day If we come back too Koh Samet this hotel would be a back up option Over all nice stay 👍"

"Despite paying a considerable amount, I was assigned a windowless room. My attempts via Ctrip to resolve this with the hotel were unsuccessful, partly because Ctrip's own room descriptions were unclear. Ctrip did, however, refund me 140 for the price difference. The shower pressure was extremely low, and the bathroom mirror was badly cracked, almost to the point of shattering. When I reported the issues, a staff member just took a brief look and walked away without offering any solution. On the positive side, the hotel is close to the sea and quiet, offering opportunities for free snorkeling. Having breakfast with a stunning sea view was also very enjoyable."

"The Hotel is very clean but the rooms are a little bit old kind of. The bathroom needs improvements or a renovation. The is big, coffee, kattle, hairdryer, towels and shampoo and shower gel is provided. Unfortunately the room is really dark, there is a window or glass door to get in, but if your room is at ground floor level, then there is not much sunlight. Location is super! Right in the middle of the city centre and very close to the Beach. The cleaning staff is really friendly, reception stuff is quite slow and not so welcoming. Overall it's a nice location to stay for a few days"

"The initial service was quite poor, with no smiles from the staff. I stayed in a two-story beachfront loft, right by the sea. The location is absolutely superb – I genuinely highly recommend it! I honestly think it's the best-situated room on the entire public beach. The rooms further back are quite close to each other. To the right, the beach is lined with restaurants. The restaurants on the right side of the main street just outside the entrance were really not good. Of course, this has nothing to do with the hotel; I'm just pointing it out. The next day, I asked for complimentary bottled water. A staff member said 'okay' but never brought it. When I went to ask again, they had already finished their shift, and there was no one around. So, here's a tip: if you need anything, go directly to the front desk. I only stayed two days before checking out and moving to another hotel. However, the front desk staff here helped me transfer my luggage directly to my second hotel, and I truly commend them for that service! 👍🏻"

"Newly renovated rooms; comfortable & cleaned. Beautiful private peaceful beach. All the hotel staff that we had contacted did excellent jobs. Enjoyed live music & a fire show in the evening. We gave 200 THB to the fire show men. Frankly speaking, their fire show skills are much better than Hawaii. (Except, no hip dance) It would be nice if the other hotel guests would have given them some tips, too. Everything was good, except the music at the restaurant by the beach was a bit too loud. I will return to stay at this hotel again if I go to Samed next time."

"This is a good low budget option to experience island life, but not that low budget £60 per night ( January 2026) We are very familiar with island life in Thailand and appreciate that some things just don’t work as well. The location of Malibu Samed Resort is gorgeous, it’s more or less situated on the beach of the small quaint Wong Duean Bay. There are several beach restaurants available, the vibe is chilled, without the drinking or ******** culture. It’s lovely. Our welcome was warm, the staff were great and happy to help with our luggage. Our room is small 16 m² with 2 single beds, some hanging and storage space. It has a rustic feel to it. There is a fridge which is always welcome, tea and coffee making facilities, which we always appreciate, as well as a safety deposit box & flat screen TV. The bed and pillow are comfortable but not sumptuous. Towels are provided and I would say are of typical island quality. However the shower was an issue, obviously water is limited on the island and taking a hot shower was challenging but actually having a good supply of water either in the evening or morning was very hit and miss. Missed more often, it gets frustrating when you can’t have an adequate shower, that’s one of the reasons we move about frequently. Breakfast is of limited quality but there are a variety of options including cereal, hot food both western & Thai. Toast cereal and tea & coffee. The pool area was hardly used during our stay so a nice quiet retreat from the beach was available."
