"After a long drive from New York with a 3 year old child, we were told that they can not accommodate us at the restaurant with the explanation that we should have made a reservation at the time of the room booking. At that time a third of te restaurant was empty and there was space at the bar! When asked whether we can order some food and take it to go, we were also told no. I asked about a room service, same answer no. Can you just make a simple pasta for a baby, no. I had to call the restaurant manager and the general manager both saying how fine dining their place is! Pathetic that there is no basic understanding that fine dining starts with fine customer service. At the reception we were told that nobody delivers apart from pizza and the nearest place to eat is 15 min drive. In the end, they gave us cooked pasta to go, which turned out too salty abd the baby refused eating it. Travelers with kids, beware, you would be totally ripped off paying almost a thousand dollars a night and not being able to feed your baby unless you make a reservation months in advance! On top of that you would hear long stories about how great their restaurant is and that they are busy accommodating other guests! For any well run hotel, you would expect some food options to be always available whether it is a restaurant, room service , take out or delivery. If you are too busy, as they say, hire more staff to be able to serve the guests you charge almost a thousand dollars a night for. Will never come back."

Hemlock Neversink

"The incredible customer service at Hemlock Neversink began when my email enquiries were responded to promptly and professionally. Then I called and talked to someone about the different rooms. I wanted a view and went with rooms 32 and 33. While making the reservation on the phone I was told about a generous spa credit and that we would all receive an email asking about us so that they could build us a customized suggested itinerary. As told the emails arrived and were completed. We were off to a great start. My first impression of Hemlock Neversink as you drive onto the property is this place is beautiful. There is a drive up a hill to the main building and to the left is a meadow of green ferns. Rose checked us in and then gave us a tour. That really was a warm way to start your stay. Rose handed us our itineraries and explained that there really is a no pressure approach. The rooms actually are better than the photos. The beds were King size and so comfortable. The bathrooms are new and the water pressure is great. We had three days of perfect weather, and all the windows open with ease and have new screens. The fresh air and literally no noise was magical. There was a window that faced the courtyard with a fountain so you can hear the fountain while in your room. That is a special experience. During our tour Rose told us the property is very concerned about light pollution which I appreciated. There was a light on the front porch of the room so I asked if they could shut that off. The next night it was off and the following morning a nice man who is the property manager asked if it was better. I was blown away by the personalized service. The food is based on a vegetable forward menu, but there is meat and fish. Three meals a day, but limited choices which I prefer. There were several delicious meals that I had never seen before. The breakfast is great with fresh fruit. There was always fresh infused cold water available, and the Catskill water is the best you will taste. On the first morning I met a woman on the staff named Ronnie and asked her about a cup of coffee. She insisted on bringing it to me as I waited for breakfast to begin. On the last morning there was a knock on my door. It was Ronnie bringing me cup of coffee to my room. This was a level of personal service I have never experienced before. So many members of the staff made the stay so special. The bon fire built by Roberto, Leonna who invited me to a kitchen demonstration, Dante, Joshua and Emily our server at night. All the servers in the restaurant are so nice and professional. Sorry if I missed your name. An extra treat was meeting Scott Woods who manages all the properties for Foster Supply. He is passionate about his job and the Neversink area. Finally, the experience that I will never forget are the goat walks. Meagan and her husband are devoted to goat rescue and the love they have for these beautiful animals is very moving. The goats are ful"
