"Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style. They offer fresh tuna and squid sushi, and during the New Year, traditional Japanese New Year dishes. It's quite good value for money. However, the buffet is limited to 1.5 hours and requires a reservation, so you need to check in early to book your preferred time. From what I've seen on Japanese TV programs, the buffet at Mikazuki, which is within a few hundred meters, seems better. But if you don't know that, the service here is overwhelmingly superior compared to other regions."

"The hotel facilities are complete, the hot spring environment is beautiful, and there is also a swimming pool for me to experience, which is enough for me to have a good swim. "The hotel is around 10mins walk from Kinugawa-Onsen Station. Although there are many abandoned hotels, shops, residences, buildings around the surrounding area, I can still explore the area as the street lights are lit in the evening. The hotel is divided into different wings and occupies a large area. I stayed in the upper floors of the hotel’s main building (Kirakukan) but there’s an option to stay at the hotel’s park-cottages that is built on the cliff of the riverbank and overlooks the Kinugawa river. The Kinugawa Park Cottage is located separately further away from the main building. I only noticed a local Japanese family of four or five persons being escorted by the hotel staff to one of the cottages. Other than that one-off encounter, I didn’t see anyone else at the area around the cottage which is also super quiet. Likewise for the other wings of the hotel i.e. Kinoyakata and Kishintei, I didn’t see any guests maybe due to low season. Love the onsen and the private open-air bath, the traditional Japanese kaiseiki breakfast and dinner. There’s also a souvenir shop, ramen & snack shop as well as an outdoor swimming pool which I couldn’t use as it is only available for use come summer time. Just across the road from the hotel, there’s the Waterside Cafe Terrace, a 7-Eleven convenience store adjacent to the hotel and since there’s no self-service washing machine/dryer in the hotel, the nearest 24h laundromat is around a 5-min walk from the hotel located behind the Waterside Cafe Terrace and across the road facing “Galarie Cafe Painto E”. On the day of check-out, the hotel helped to store my luggage and I had lunch at “Suzukawa Cafe” just next to Galarie Cafe Painto E. The food prices here are slightly cheaper than the ones near Kinugawa-Onsen station."

"It was very nice to have an open-air bath in the room ^_^ There was a sauna in the public bath, and I was impressed by the view from the outside air bath space ✨ The buffet was delicious and the best I want to go again ^_^"

"It's old, but reasonably clean. Since it's in the mountains, be careful of insects when opening the windows. The sheets were very clean and there was no smell. It was a futon, but the mattress was thin and my back hurt a little. The bath had a calming atmosphere and was very nice. There were only four hair dryers in the public bath. There weren't any in the room either, so you have to borrow one from the front desk. The location is good. There's a suspension bridge nearby, and it was nice to be able to see the gorge, the hotel, and the bridge from there. The meals included all-you-can-drink alcohol, and my family and I got quite drunk and had a great time. We were also able to eat a lot at the buffet breakfast."

"We stayed three nights in a room that included a circulating hot spring tub and buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. Staff in all areas were attentive, friendly and courteous. We chose to have buffet dinner instead of Kaiseki or course dinner as those usually include food we do not eat or prefer and don’t want to waste. The buffet had a large variety to select from which was appreciated. Various public hot springs in multiple areas of hotel were also available. It was a little distant to major tourist attractions via somewhat inconvenient public transportation which wasted some time but overall was a great stay."

"We liked the hotel very much. It surely needs renovation in some areas, but you forget about this, because the hotel service is very good. The staff is very helful and welcoming, many free amenities are provided: yukata clothes for kids for all ages, socks for geta shoes, face sheet masks for ladies. Futons are very cosy, kaiseki dinner was worth it, but if your kids do not like Japanese style food, you need to think of it beforehand. Onsen area is very nice. It has pool also. I would recommend to stay in this hotel and enjoy Japanese experience."

"This is a popular all-inclusive resort! We stayed on a Saturday, but the various play areas and pool facilities were spacious and relaxed, so it didn't feel crowded at all. The dining area was in one place, so there was a problem with the flow of food, so we had to wait in line, but we arrived a little early so we managed. The hot springs were also very nice. There was a mistake in entering the child's information, so Trip.com contacted us in advance, which was very helpful. Thank you very much."
