"The most amazing experience ever.  The view from our balcony - we stayed on the 4th floor and had the most magnificent view of the sea, the whole Taormina city.  Glorious during the day and spectacular during the night.  The breakfast was beyond expectations. There was so much food, lots of different types of bread. Croissants, egg and bacon, fresh cold meats, cereals, different coffee machines , fruit and on and on.  It was located at the top and we caught a bus for 2euros to the hotel. It was a 5 mins walk to the main hub. Perfect!!!! The pool was amazing. The view was something out of a movie with its picturesque background.  The verandah nearby had tables where you could enjoy a drink and relax.  O really the rooms and facilities were beyond expectations and we would have liked to have stayed longer but we had already booked our other hotels in another city.  5++++ experience that we will never forget."

Villa Conrad by Hotel Metropole

"Villa Conrad is in an excellent location right in the heart of Taormina, just a short walk from Corso Umberto, yet still tucked away enough to feel relatively peaceful. It makes a very convenient base for exploring the town and accessing restaurants, shops and the main sights. We stayed in Junior Suite 104, which was spacious and comfortable, although we found it quite dark due to limited natural light. The room was well maintained overall, but did not feel especially bright or airy. It was also quite noisy in the morning, as there is a road immediately outside the room, which made it harder to sleep in than we would have liked. Breakfast was good and is served at the nearby Hotel Metropole, which is a lovely setting and offers a good selection. However, it felt like a missed opportunity that breakfast is not served in the attractive courtyard at Villa Conrad itself, which would have enhanced the boutique feel. Similarly, drinks are not served in the villa courtyard, which seems a pity given the potential of the space. It is also worth noting that there is no on-site service at the villa, so for simple requests such as ice we ended up asking at a neighbouring bar. This gives the property more of an apartment-style feel rather than a fully serviced boutique hotel experience."

"We are just back from a lovely break on the seafront below Taormina, This is a beautiful boutique hotel with a small number of rooms that makes it feel so intimate and cosy.......and ensures a friendly and cheerful ambience. We had a mountain room view which was spacious and well decorated. Unfortunately just 8 weeks prior to our visit the area was hit by a hurricane, the hotel's beach bar is no longer in place and there does seem to be great activity here and in adjoining properties to rebuild in time for the summer season. The breakfast is lovely and substantial, and though we didn't take dinner during our stay the limited menu offered some good meals. The atrium bar is a lovely place to enjoy a drink before going to bed. The pool looked great and would no doubt be well patronised on warmer days. We loved our stay here - getting to Taormina is pretty straightforward with a reliable public bus schedule taking you to the city gates in 5-10 minutes and at a very reasonable 2 Euro fare. The promenade is lovely for an evening stroll and there's a few good family run restaurants as you get nearer to Lettojanni. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable stay, should we ever be fortunte enough to visit this lovely part of Sicily again then we will definitely be booking this hotel again. "Amazing hotel in a beautiful location! The staff were wonderful, the beach was fantastic, and the breakfast was excellent. I would definitely rate this as a 5-star hotel rather than a 4-star. The only downside was the noise early in the morning and late in the evening, as our room was located above the restaurant. Another small issue was that some guests reserved the front-row beach loungers by leaving their towels on them for hours without actually using them. As a result, we had to stay in the second row even though many of the front loungers remained empty. Only after several hours were we able to move closer. I think the hotel should introduce a policy similar to those at many other resorts: if a sunbed is left unattended for more than 20 minutes, the towels should be removed by the staff. This would make the experience fairer for all guests. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would happily return"
