We visited Troy for a wedding and stayed at the Best Western Plus across from the venue. The location was convenient, all of the associates we interacted with were professional, patient and friendly. Shout out to Tyrese, and to the associate who was wearing the CD belt during our check in for all the great recommendations, and for accommodating our request to check in early. We recommend upgrading to a room that has been updated. Those are modern and cozy.

A huge shout out to the GM (Andy) for going above and beyond. Looks like I need to write more to post the review so…. Have stayed here a few times. Rooms clean- I suggest river view if possible. Close to restaurants/bars. Check in was a breeze the woman who serviced us at bar one night was a delight. This is our go to place when in the area.

This hotel is probably one of the better hotels in Troy and it is also close to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The hotel's front desk is on the 3rd floor and requires an elevator. The rooms are large, the sanitary condition is good, the design facilities are also very useful, the parking lot is large, and the parking is convenient. Since the hotel is along the road, the noise is a bit loud and it is the only bad place.

Ok, so we (a family of 5: myself, two teenagers and our two year old)booked a stay here because the location we usually stay at - Home2Suites in Albany was sold out. We called ahead to see if by chance our room might be ready an hour or two before check-in and are told that the room wouldn’t be available til check in time. No problem. We reserved one of the bigger, corner rooms at $172/night (average) so it was understandable. We arrived at the agreed upon checkin time and were told by a man wearing a blue, button down shirt that was so wrinkled, I questioned if he really worked there at first. He radioed to what I assume was his cleaning staff who told him that our room (526) was not yet available and there would be a 30-40 minute wait. My family and I braced for a long wait. Then a gentleman in a neatly-ironed, red, buttoned down shirt came to assist me and told me that in fact room 326 was available for us and there would be no wait. Thankfully that was the case and we didn’t have a wait but also didn’t have the room I had originally reserved. No problem. We had a similar room. By now, the man in the wrinkled shirt was addressing the crowd that was beginning to gather in the lobby loudly exclaiming: “ATTENTION EVERYBODY!!! I AM ONLY GOING TO SAY THIS ONCE SO LISTEN UP.” - he proceeded to yell to the waiting line (which looked like a mix of family and business travelers) the breakfast buffet hours and prices in an exasperated way that made me think they must be tired of confusion regarding the breakfast buffet. We’ve never been here before so I just shrugged my shoulders but found the public interaction awkward because this man who looked like he pulled his shirt out of the trash was speaking condescendingly to the line of travelers who just wanted to get their rooms. I found this entire opening process less than professional but was happy to get to our room. We had reserved the bigger room because we’re a family of 5. I entered that information when I created my reservation. When we got to our room we found the accommodations themselves sufficient but there were only two bath towels, two pillows and no linens for the sofa bed that the kids would be using. Not the end of the world so we called the front desk and to their credit they had our extra towels and bed linens up fairly quickly. But no pillows. It would’ve been cool to not have had to ask for any of these things. Presumably guests steal anything that’s not nailed down so I get it but there must be a better way. We called down again for pillows and they were brought up fairly quickly as well by a friendly attendant. The morning of Friday, August 19th was interesting. My wife and kids were excited to try out the Starbucks located on the ground floor so while they got ready in the room I decided to venture down and get coffee and pastries for everyone. First impression lobby clean and modern - staff very welcoming . There’s plenty to do at mall across street - but a lot also in building- basketball court - pool - and fitness center . We really liked the long hours in pool- rooms were clean with blackout curtains that helped for a good nights rest- personally no noise complaints during the night. Staff were friendly, having the Hilton app allowed for easy communication to front desk . Each room has a mini fridge microwave coffee maker . breakfast which was delicious provides variety of beverages ( coffee , hot chocolate , juice, milk, water) and breakfast food ( what topped It off was the pancake machine) with a wave of your hand get two perfectly cooked pancakes . In case you miss breakfast they have 24/7 convenience snacks / beverages/ sweets and microwaveable goodies. In short I was very impressed with my stay at Tru by Hilton and plan to stay again :)

I felt welcomed from the moment that I walked in the door. This was a relief because I had had a stressful day waiting for my husband to get out of surgery. The bathroom on the room sparkled. Great care was taken preparing the room. The next morning the front desk staff was just as friendly as those from the night before. I highly recommend this property.

We spent 2 nights at the Clifton park Holiday Inn express The room was clean and well appointed Loved having the Kuerig in the room and the very spacious bathroom The indoor pool was so nice because the water was warm and so was the room ( wish they had a few more pool towels) The breakfast was really good There was a good variety of hot and cold foods as well as a good assortment of fruit I loved that there was coffee available in the lobby This hotel is near our family When we visit this is our go to place! Oh the location is great — near shopping and several restaurants and bars (one bar is several steps from the front door) While this hotel is around a busy area, the rooms are quiet and peaceful
