"I reserved a smoking room. When we arrived, we were put in a non-smoking room. There was trash on the floor behind the bathroom door and under the edge of the bed (visible from across the room). The sink stopper could not be removed, so water stayed in the sink making it unusable. There was no water going to the toilet, so it couldn't be flushed. We called the front desk and were moved to another room. The door got stuck every time it was closed. It was impossible to open it with one hand. It didn't have any trash on the floor, but it had some kind of bugs in the bed (bed bugs, maybe?), and we woke up with bites on all exposed skin."

Timberline Glamping at Unicoi State Park

"We vacationed with Timberline glamping company at a lot of different locations in Georgia and Florida at least 10 times. It always was a great experience and we recommend this company to all our friends. The experience at Unicoi state park wasn’t so great. The location is great, the tent was nice and the city Helen is wonderful. But the management was not good at all. We purchased in advance the kitchen kit that comes with gas grill, cooler and utensils. When we arrived it was already 9 pm. We tried to use grill but it didn’t warm up good so we couldn’t eat dinner and it was already late so of course we had to wait until the morning. In the morning I contacted the management and ask to send someone to change the grill. We went to Helen and when we came back in the afternoon the grill didn’t work again. Someone came and changed the gas tank but it wasn’t the problem I guess. Some hose was broken. So we had to call again. We got our gas working by the end of the second day only. There was no apologies or anything from the management. At the end of our stay we washed all the dishes that we used and put it back in the containers. After a few days I received a charge for $40 on my cc. I called the timberline to see what was it for and they told me that it was a fee for excessive cleaning. We even swiped the floors before we left. I contacted the management and told them that we washed everything. They told me that the cooler had some dirty water inside. The thing is that we didn’t even used their cooler. And then they wrote me that they “did us a favor and didn’t charge us pet fee because they found dog food on the floor.” We don’t have a dog and there was no dogs with us. Even if they found anything I guess they didn’t clean good enough after previous guest. The management was very rude. Leave it that they didn’t do anything about broken grill. The charged us extra for something we didn’t do. Even though the location was nice I will never come back there."

"The room we stayed in was smaller than I expected, but had a very large bathroom as it was an ADA room. The room was clean and well maintained! You can’t beat the prices, especially with the level of attention and follow through that the staff afforded us. When I was booking the room I mentioned to the manager that it was my wife’s 60th birthday. She stated that was wonderful and they would decorate the room including leaving chocolate covered strawberries. When we got to the hotel, I was disappointed because there was no decorations, etc. I called the manager who informed me that the person that would’ve made those arrangements with me had been taken to the hospital as they fear she had had a stroke. I felt absolutely horrible for her. It turns out it was her daughter. She told me-she would make it up to us and have the room decorated, etc. if we left for a while. After we got back from dinner, we found a Happy Birthday sign on the door, balloons in the room, chocolate covered strawberries, plant a fragrance candle and a bottle of wine! They really outdid themselves. The rest of our stay was not eventful. We enjoyed our visit to the town and we would go back and stay at the Heidi Inn in a heartbeat."
