A truly wonderful visit with spacious, comfortable rooms, the best food we have ever eaten in a hotel - both evening meal and enormous breakfast and welcoming, attentive staff. The only minor thing that could be improved would be to have USB plugs in the rooms.
We will definitely return for another stay - thank you!

Stayed at the hotel for its close proximity to the Cairnryan Port due to an early ferry departure the following morning. We had a comfortable room fit for our needs, with ample space for the family. There is a car park onsite. We arrived late and left early, so weren't able to use the facilities, but the areas we did see were well presented. They were kindly able to arrange a takeaway breakfast for us, as we were leaving before breakfast was served.

A big clean room, a little bit old fashion. Barman staff wasn’t as friendly as other members of the hotel but everybody was polite. Impressive sitting rooms. Swimming pool with showers and spa included in regular rate. Recommendedz

The hotel room is decorated like a KTV. The location of the hotel is very remote. It does not go into the city. The road to the hotel is blocked by traffic and causes a tire blowout. The road to the hotel is really difficult. The service staff at the hotel are very enthusiastic. The breakfast at the hotel is average. It is generally not recommended to book if you don’t have a car. It is expensive and inconvenient. My friend insisted on making a reservation, but had no choice. Anyway, the way to the hotel felt like driving into a forest. There was no one on the way and the trees were all gloomy. It was difficult to get in. The hotel didn't look like a castle to me, it just kind of looked like it. Not great value for money, other things are fine. The hotel room is really big in the UK. It also has a bathtub and a big toilet. However, the decoration is hard to say like a KTV. It is too big and looks a bit scary. The lobby looks okay during the day, and the hotel entrance is also good. It’s really scary at night~

The standard of the hotel is really special. This time I went to the UK to travel to the UK. The hotel's health and service, and breakfast are particularly good, deep sleep!

The staff is a young lady who is very helpful and friendly. We stayed here for a night to stopover for a Scotland trip. The room is pretty self sufficient yet the shower gel (all in one for shampoo and shower) have used up and didn't being refill before our arrival. I only got half shower and the lady at the reception helped to get another one (she is really helpful). There is hairdryer which is very nice (another hotel that we stayed in doesn't even provide one until we asked for it). The bedsheet got some sort of dirt (something in red) but they at least look white and clean other than that. The room is overall okay for the price and it is not the worse Hotel we have in this trip. They also got a door swing bar which is good. Toilet is clean. Towels are provided. Location is great since there are restaurants around and plenty of choices.

Convenient place to stopover on the highway, with quiet and big rooms. A little bit old and worn off, but more or less clean. Connected to a highway rest stop where we could also fill up our car and could have had a breakfast at Mc Donald’s. Behind the hotel, even a little greenery with a small lake to relax. For the price definetely worth a stopover!

GGuest UserFrom the outside (scaffolding etc) we wondered what it would be like but we were pleasantly surprised. We had booked a standard room which was clean and tidy with all the bits we needed, kettle, tea/coffee, hairdryer. The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast could be cereal with milk or yogurt, cooked breakfast, toast or croissant, big choice and all fresh and freshly cooked. We had the cooked breakfast - WOW - lasted us all day. The little town of Annan, all I can say is, if you don’t visit it, you will miss out on a treat. PS the scaffolding is for all the renovations which will improve the property. We would love to return one day.

GGuest UserI was greeted as a returning customer but hadn’t been there for 17years The staff were very friendly and helpful and polite The service I received was excellent and the food was excellent that I received The first room I stayed in was a little bit tired but as it’s a single bed room it was more than acceptable The second night was a different room as I extended my stay and was a superior single and was more in price but I found it to be excellent A great hotel with great staff and would recommend a stay if you’re passing through Lockerbie or need a hotel base in the area

GGuest UserWe had a 2 night break our room was a Queen bed double room and dog friendly as is the hotel.the room was exceptionally clean and warm the bed was extremely comfortable the wardrobes and units gave ample storage and the shower was hot and comfortable to use .there are also tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We ate at the restaurant both nights and breakfast was included also.The quality of all the food was excellent and all staff were very friendly and efficient ,Really enjoyed our stay and would hope to go back in the future

LLottiMacBeautiful B&B right in the centre of Dumfries. Excellent access to many amenities and a two minute walk to the train station. Despite its location the Huntingdon offers a great night's sleep. My room (the annex) was spacious and stylishly decorated, with all the necessary facilities. It was immaculately clean. One minor grump was the lack of shelf in the shower - trying to pick up shampoo from the floor is difficult mid shower. Breakfast was very good quality, and the poached eggs superb. Would thoroughly recommend this B&B.

GGuest UserCouldn't fault the Eskdale, from the minute we came through the front door the staff couldn't do enough for us the receptionist even carried our case up stairs for us.the room was lovely and clean and the bed was sooooo comfy . Cooked Breakfast was delicious too with as much tea and toast as we wanted ....tea yes toast no as we were full up from breakfast !would definitely go back .

GGuest UserMy trip , was disrupted before we even arrived at the hotel, we contacted Alison at the Village In to advise her we would be much later than expected and have to leave earlier than expected the next day. She was extremely accommodating and whent out of her way to assist and provide a very pleasant stay. I would definitely return next time I'm in the area.
