"I stayed here alone. At first, I considered a dormitory, but I think a private room is better if you're a woman traveling solo. This place offers great value for money. It's definitely small, but having a fridge, hairdryer, and a private shower and toilet in the room was incredibly convenient. The only downside was a small gap between the door and the hallway, which let in quite a bit of noise. There was no microwave. The showerhead was fixed, and the water pressure wasn't super strong, but the hot water flowed consistently. The provided shampoo made my hair quite squeaky, so if that's a concern, you should bring your own. The hotel staff were also very pleasant. There was a gym available, so I could get a workout in. It's a hotel I'd definitely want to stay at again!"

"Sudima Hotel Christchurch was an absolutely excellent choice during my trip to New Zealand's South Island. What impressed me most was the clean and modern interior design that greeted me as soon as I entered the room. The fresh and fluffy bedding allowed me to perfectly unwind from the fatigue of travel. The warm and friendly service from the staff made for a pleasant experience throughout my stay. From check-in to guidance on local attractions, their thoughtful consideration made me feel truly valued. Furthermore, the quality of both breakfast and other meals offered at the hotel's restaurant was superb, ensuring satisfying dining experiences. In terms of location, it boasts excellent accessibility to Christchurch city center and major tourist spots, as well as convenient transportation to and from the airport, making itinerary management very easy. "The hotel is right across from the stadium, very close to the Cardboard Cathedral and Hereford Street. There's a New World supermarket nearby, which is convenient for groceries. I booked a one-bedroom suite but they upgraded me to a two-bedroom, which was great! There's also a Little High eatery nearby, similar to a food court, with many restaurant options. It's very popular with the locals, highly recommended."

"The TV is not working (it was loading the whole night). However the room is still reasonable and the bathroom is definitely New and clean with all the required amenities We reach rather late and unable to reach the receptionist (no given no to call etc) thus have to wait a while till someone from the hotel came to assist. If u are planning to stay 1 night, no issues but if longer, suggest to look around for better options around the area."

"Second time I've stayed here. First visit couldn't fault. This visit Requested a room with a balcony when I booked three weeks ago. This did not occur Early check in as I was going to the cricket. Could not do Issues with the tv and not getting the channel I wanted Spa bath - did not work Lying in the bath, looking at the toilet from under the eye line. Totally discusting, big build up of unclean scum Even if the spa bath was working, no soap/bubble bath provided. Really quite disappointing as my last visit was great"

Very Good
GGuest UserThe park is huge and very disorganised. The staff at the reception was very friendly and nice and the check-in was quick. When we arrived to our cabin the heater was on which made it nice and comfy. The cabin we got had 4 beds for 5 people (e.g. parents and 3 kids), but they all bunk beds and very very old. We had to split and sleep on separete beds as during every breath you take the bed is shaking heavily which intterupts the sleep of another person, especially if they are on a bed above/below you. That's actually very sad, considering that paid for the cabin same amount of money as we could've rent airbnb at Fairlee, but we wanted to try this holiday park specifically. All beds had a set of a clean sheets and towels, even though on couple of them I found stains (that are probably iremovable). The blanket we had on the master bed had cigarrete burned holes (or similar). The floor in the cabin was very very dirty, which made it pretty disgusting to walk on. We also had a TV that we didn't know how to turn on and a small freezer. The cabin itself as pretty comfy except for the dirty floor and dirty ceiling full of died insects. When I walked to take a shower I met about 4 girls that were checking the shower temperature, cause apperantely for couple of hours there was no hot water ONLY in the women section. Men's section in the same block had it. So we waiting, nothing happend and we all (5 women) had to walk all around the park looking for other shower blocks. Because it was past 6 and it's winter time, it was dark and for some reason the park doesnt have any outdoor lights. So I got lost on my way back and had to call my bf to meet me, because this place is like an ant nest - impossible to get through especially during the night time. With this girls we found another shower block that only had 1 single shower and we all had to wait in line. Btw the non working one had 4 showers, which is still very little, considering amount of people staying in the park. The shower and toilets looked very dirty and unmaintaited. The entry to the park had a code for cars that also stopped working, so at some point they just opened it for everyone to pass. So I wouldn't say that it worth to stay there for the money we paid.

YYangyang05The location is next to the road, so there will be noise at night when cars pass by quickly and the houses here are generally not soundproofed. But if the room is near the parking lot, maybe it can be improved. Everything else is perfect, because there is a living room and an open kitchen, two bedrooms (one with a single bed and one with a double bed), a separate bathroom with dry and wet areas, and a hair dryer, which is a great deal

GGuest UserI was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.

GGuest UserWe stayed for 3 nights. Location is wonderful. 3 min walk to Regent Street where we ate our meals for 3 days straight. New modern vibe. However, during the 3 nights, every night there is few min of power outage, blackout in the room. Wat are the chances? I ask the counter but they hv no explanation.

The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a short stay. Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, a very convenient and comfortable place to stay in Christchurch. Would definitely consider staying here again!

OOuershangxianhaopingjiaFour of us were traveling, so we booked a suite at this hotel. Let me start by saying that apart from the hotel being new and having good facilities, everything else was pretty mediocre. Facilities: The frying pan provided in the suite couldn't be used with the induction hob, which meant we couldn't heat our food initially. We called the front desk for help, but even they didn't know how to use it and suggested we search YouTube for instructions on how to use an induction hob (our reaction: ???). The front desk also didn't know how to use the in-room phone to contact reception (our reaction: ??? again!). The hotel management team really needs to re-train their staff to ensure every employee is familiar with how to use the hotel's facilities, rather than repeatedly insisting in subsequent communications that there's nothing wrong with the facilities. Hygienics: Pretty average. There were three beds in the room, and the sheets and duvet covers on two of them weren't clean – they had floating lint. Also, the bath towels had very obvious blue pen stains. Service: We contacted the hotel via email the night the issues occurred, and Trip.com also helped us get in touch with the hotel to resolve them. The problems were eventually fixed, but the overall experience remained poor. The hotel's attitude made us feel like we were bringing up existing issues just to get compensation... Finally, there are many better hotels in Christchurch than this one. While it's new, the hotel's service team is a bit lacking. Don't let yourself ruin your trip here.

FFayreWe are couple with a 5 year old girl. We paid SGD697.85 (Singapore dollar) for staying 2 nights in this “2 bedroom apartment” as stated. 3 points here to explain the terrible experience. 1. tv remote is not working. I don’t mind the owner making excuse like “ replied customer’s message within 20mins…..” but they actually took 29mins to reply (19:10 till 19:39). In fact, they didn’t manage to change the tv remote in the end. So I stayed 2 nights without using the TV! 2.there is no clear and obvious description that this “2 bedroom apartment” is actually an adjoining unit which means when u walked into the front door then there are 2 doors link to split parts of the apartment. The problem of adjoining units are thin walls are used to split the apartment into 2 small units. When u stay in this kind of apartment, u have to endure all kind of noises from whoever staying in neighboring rooms. We had 2 days enduring guesting from the other room shouting, slamming the door, kids screaming like crazy both early in the morning and afternoon! 3. When I reflect this bad experience with trip.com customer service, this hotel responded like they have no fault at all and played with words. This attitude makes us feel like being fooled. We paid money to expect to stay in an apartment with privacy and quiet environment but indeed we had such a bad experience! In this market, if it’s an adjoining unit, they should not charge at the rate as if it’s an entire apartment. I’m alright that they rejected to refund the extra amount they charged. Just have to reflect the facts in the review. Thanks.

Hhamu_familytripThis hotel is about an 8-minute walk from the Intercity bus terminal. Its convenient location puts major tourist attractions, supermarkets, and restaurants all within walking distance. What I appreciated most was how kid-friendly it is. It started with them gifting my children bird plushies (worth about $15) at the souvenir shop, and there's also a kids' play area. This was a lifesaver when the kids got tired of sightseeing and perfect for burning off energy before bedtime. Regarding amenities, they lean heavily towards sustainability, so if you want to be extra comfortable, it's probably best to bring your own. They provide a hairdryer, iron, towels, shampoo, and coffee/tea, but no water, toothbrushes, bathrobes, or slippers (which might be standard for hotels in New Zealand). Tissues are provided but not replenished when used up. The central heating didn't seem to work very well, which was a shame, but we managed with the extra blankets they provided.

Great
CChak Heng AndrewThis hotel stay was an absolute delight, offering the perfect blend of convenience, stunning views, and high-quality amenities. The location right by the waterfront was simply breathtaking, and the proximity to the whale watching center was an added bonus. While the unit was on the second floor, which required carrying our luggage upstairs, the view from the elevated position was well worth it. There was also the option of requesting a ground floor unit if stairs are a concern. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze, with clear instructions provided and a designated key return box for added convenience. Having an assigned parking space just outside the unit was also a thoughtful touch. But the true highlight of this hotel stay was the shower. The water pressure and temperature control were absolutely perfect, making for a luxurious and refreshing experience. And being able to watch the sunrise from the unit was the icing on the cake. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a tranquil, waterfront retreat with top-notch amenities and stunning views. The combination of the convenient location, well-appointed unit, and exceptional shower made this an unforgettable stay.

Very Good
HHaha205The wifi is limited to 500MB per person, the speed is very slow, and the connection is often disconnected. There is a charity shop and a Chinese noodle restaurant next to it, which is convenient for cooking. There is a gas station next to it. It is not far from the Dahuang Supermarket.
