GGuest UserGet this hotel!!! We were supposed to stay for a night and then decide what to do - we ended up staying 3 nights and were very sad to leave.
Every so often when you travel your hotel experience significantly improved your holiday - this was one of those cases! First of all the basics, we were looking for a nice family friendly hotel walking distance from the beach - and this certainly fit that category. The rooms are fine, you could see the sea from the windows, comfortable beds, pretty clean, slippers, plenty of towels, wifi everywhere etc. There was also a small playground for small kids and hammocks (picture) etc which was cool, we also saw mahjong tables, but didn't have the time to play.
The hotel is located near a fairly large field, filled with exotic birds, butterflies and crickets etc. There were also geckos everywhere (love them), but we didn't see any inside the room. There were some mosquitos outside on the terrace (don't love them), but the repellent took care of those and we didn't have any in our rooms. Felt like you were near nature, in a good way.
The kids loved to play on the beach, it's great for sand castles (the hotel had buckets and shovels free of charge) and searching for crabs, fish, shells, sea snails etc... The moms loved it too, especially to walk around and explore during low tide. (the hotel also provided equipment to catch crabs and other sea creatures etc if you wanted to - they also had a service to cook them for you) We especially enjoyed playing under a nearby pier during low tide to avoid getting badly sunburned.
The supermarket across the street sell dozens of single malt whiskys and beer from all over the world (they also have ice cream and other stuff) - and the dads recommend the roof terrace for that after the kids are asleep. (picture)
If you know how to ride a scooter/ebike they rent them across the road too, and it's the best way to explore the island. The small roads (almost devoid of cars) were awesome to drive on, just remember to stay safe.
I don't usually care much about breakfast, but the included breakfast was great! (picture) The kitchen staff was also super laid-back about the whole thing - this whole hotel radiated a very laid back tropical island feel that made you forget you were in China.
However the reason I write this review is because of the owner. (last picture) (I'm not sure if he speaks English though, but I'm sure you'll manage) Super chill guy! Immediately after booking he contacted us to arrange the transport from the boat. He helped us buy tickets for the trip back. He was willing to come and pick us up at any time if we got lost on the island. He had great recommendations about basically everything, and whenever we made plans we were sure to ask for his advice. He was basically always reachable over wechat too.
These are just some of the things that he didn't have to provide, but did (or offered): unlimited cold drinking water, ice, proper glasses, a coffee grinder, buckets, shovels, hats, umbrellas, sunscreen, aloe vera plants, flashlights, mosquito repellent etc etc and it feels like we only scratched the surface. It feels like whenever I asked him for something he always had a solution that exceeded my expectations. Great host!
I've traveled to almost 100 countries and while this wasn't the fanciest hotel I've stayed in by any means, this was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've ever had. If anyone I know plans to visit this island I will for sure recommend this place.

WWeishiheyuanfangbukegufuCame here for the third time, deep in the mountains is a stockade like a Swiss town: houses are lined up, layers of flowers are first laid, and Jiaojiao is beautiful. Whether it is the faintness of the sea of clouds surrounding the mountain in the morning or the evening glowing and tender, or the stars at night, it brings a sense of peace and tranquility: two ears do not hear the world, and the edge is in this village; In the morning, you can go up and down the stone road, while enjoying the beautiful scenery around you, you can also go to the mountain tea room to have a cup of good tea; in the afternoon, continue to climb, sit in the pavilion at the top, overlook the whole village, and then shout out the inner poetry and distance to the mountains; At night, make a wish to the stars (the heart fire to the stars, the wish is true). Here, you can completely empty, live a few days of pastoral life, lamenting that the paradise is real.

GGuest UserThis is one of the best-located hotels I've stayed in during my seven or eight visits to Yangshuo. It's directly facing the Yulong River and the karst peaks, and every room has a view. The rooftop terrace is absolutely stunning for sunset. During the day, no motorized vehicles are allowed into the Ten-Mile Gallery scenic area, so it's incredibly quiet. Renting an e-scooter makes it really convenient to visit attractions like the Big Banyan Tree and Moon Hill. The amenities are top-notch; the bathroom fixtures are Kohler, and the bedding is very comfortable. I had a very satisfying stay.

GGuest UserWe booked a really good value group tour. We arrived quite early, before check-in time, so rooms weren't ready yet. However, after paying the deposit, they arranged a room for us in advance and even upgraded it. We also received many thoughtful tips. The location is easy to find, directly opposite the side of West Street, just walk straight. For exploring the Ten-Mile Gallery, you can rent electric scooters for 20 or 30 yuan a day, with two different ranges: 40 km for 30 yuan, or 70 km for 30 yuan (it seems there might be a typo in the original, implying two 30 yuan options with different ranges, or perhaps it should be 20 yuan for 40km and 30 yuan for 70km). The next morning, a rich breakfast was provided, and the room's overall cleanliness was excellent. Highly recommended!!!!

GGuest UserOverall, the experience was excellent, exceeding my expectations. The hotel environment was clean and tidy, with no unpleasant odors in the corridors and public areas, which made me feel very safe. The room was spacious enough, with simple and elegant decor. The bed was just the right firmness, and the pillows were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The bathroom was spotless, with all necessary toiletries provided, and hot water was readily available. The front desk staff were warm and polite, patiently answering any questions and responding quickly. The location is excellent, with a bus stop right outside and many shopping areas nearby, making dining and shopping very convenient. The price-performance ratio is very high compared to similar hotels. My stay was very comfortable, and I would definitely recommend it and stay here again.

YYanyongqianI arrived in Guilin from Kunming late after 12 am and there is no tourist information counter staff at the airport to tell me where to wait for the hotel's airport transfer driver. Fortunately an airline check-in counter officer helped me call the hotel to find out where to wait for the driver. Please note wait for the driver next to the police kiosk after leaving Gate 6 of the domestic arrival terminal and crossing the lane. It took me 15 minutes to identify the driver because the driver did not show the placard showing the hotel name Shanshuiyunshang Hotel. The driver was impatiently waiting for a foreign tourist. So I identified myself as a Singaporean looking for the transfer driver of the hotel. He replied that I can follow him, who did not declare the hotel's name. Thank God he brought a group of tourists and me to Shanshuiyunshang Hotel to check-in. I also thank God that the driver escorts me to the Airport Flower Field, which is 569 metres away from the hotel, for plane-spotting, and I walk back to the hotel within 10 minutes to check-out of the hotel for my outgoing trip from Guilin after completing my plane-spotting mission. Other than the hotel airport transfer driver, there is the odour of smoke in the room but I have to bear with it until I leave and I cannot access the hotel wifi by scanning the QR code. The hotel restaurant is very small but dragonfruit is served and the breakfast amount is sufficient to fill my hunger. Shanshuiyunshang Hotel is one of several hotels along the road of Liangjiang Town that has accommodation for tourists but this hotel is the only one in Liangjiang Town to be listed on Trip.com. I will stay here again for the purpose of plane-spotting in Liangjiang Town, the famous airport town of Guangxi.

DDatoucaiooThis is my second time visiting Yangshuo, and I've returned to Julong Town. Every stay here is incredibly comforting. The rooms are clean, and the thoughtful touches like late-night snacks, breakfast, and afternoon tea are wonderful! Our room had panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, offering stunning mountain views right from the bed. It was clean and spacious. We stayed in a family suite, which even had a washing machine – super convenient when traveling with kids! The bathroom also had a separate wet and dry area. You absolutely must check out the 'Sky Mirror' on the rooftop; the distant mountains and clouds reflecting on its surface make for amazing photos, and there's even a complimentary travel photoshoot with your stay. The hotel also has an infinity pool, and swimming with those mountain views is truly therapeutic.

GGuest UserThis is the most happy homestay on the road with dogs in recent years! As the host said, renovating the ancestral house to make friends from all over the world, not to make money in business.
This night I met friends from Yunnan, Guangxi, and Guangdong. This friendship of rounding the table, eating together, drinking together, singing together is too unforgettable! Will come again, see you next year 👋
Environment: I envy this flower garden too much, thanks to the hard work of the host family, including the 83-year-old grandmother!
Facilities: everything, the old house renovation design is also particularly ingenious, is the work of the old generation of woodworking craftsmen!
Dining: Sister Yu's cooking skills are full of praise! The ingredients are exquisite, and they are now picked! Fried beef, braised eggplant, fried melon seedlings, pickled ginger silk... Looking forward to the next taste bud unlock!

GGuest UserAll in all an extremely pleasant stay! The location is absolutely stunning. Sure, it might be a little bit off the beaten track, but the views are all the more rewarding and the hiking path from Dazhai is also highly recommended.
The hotel lobby also functions as a big living room and a little restaurant run by the owners. The food is excellent and well priced (definitely try their rice wine!). Because we were there in winter and it was cold, the owners even put a small radiator under our table to make it comfortable.
Generally, the owners were super nice and friendly and adding their absolutely adorable puppy, we almost couldn't bring ourselves to leave.
The rooms were very clean, have a small separate bathroom and we had a small balcony with view over the rice terraces. For a more budget option there is also rooms without AC or view, in that case you can still enjoy quite a bit of the scenery from the living room downstairs or just by exploring the surroundings on foot. (The picture is shot from our balcony, but sadly some of the view was obscured by the winter mist.)
We will definitely try to come again sometime in summer and are already excited thinking about staying in this hotel again.

Kkyowa_shThe room is quite spacious with complete facilities, and the panoramic window offers a great view. The only downside was that it was fully booked during the Mid-Autumn Festival, so we only got a second-floor room. There's a small golf course less than 5 meters away on the opposite rooftop, which somewhat compromised privacy. I imagine this wouldn't be an issue on the third floor and above. The service was very attentive, and the buffet food was quite good for a B&B, around a 4-star standard. We even received a small gift when we checked out. Its location near the old street pier makes it convenient for Yulong River rafting.
