Ξενοδοχεία Romantic σε Lazio, Italy

"I recently stayed at this hotel and while there were a few positives, the overall experience was disappointing due to a series of overlooked details and frustrating issues. To start with the good—the staff were great: friendly, helpful, and informative. They made an effort to assist whenever asked, and that hospitality was appreciated. The location was decent, about a 30-minute bus ride to the city center. It’s not exactly central, but manageable if you’re okay with the commute. The room was reasonably clean upon arrival, but the quality of housekeeping declined quickly. A lotion stain I accidentally left on the shower floor was never cleaned, and instead of actually scrubbing the area, housekeeping simply placed a mat over it—as if to hide it. Initially, the room came stocked with two sets of towels, but after the first day, only one of each was replaced. While the booking was for one person, maintaining the original quantity would have shown a bit more care and consistency. There were several small inconveniences that added up. For example, the room phone had no directory, so I had no idea how to contact the front desk or reach any services. On top of that, the air conditioning didn’t work for the first two days, which turned out to be because the previous guest had asked for it to be turned off, and it was never reset. It took me that long to realize I had to ask the concierge to enable it again. In a properly managed hotel, the AC should be reset and ready for the next guest without needing to make a request. The continental breakfast was another letdown. The scrambled eggs were dry, lumpy, and had a strange grey tint. The bacon and sausages were cold, and orange juice was served in plastic cups. There was very little fresh fruit, and to top it off, they had a random speaker on the floor playing radio ads during breakfast—a strange and unpleasant ambiance for a morning meal. I’m glad I didn’t pay for breakfast for my entire stay, because it definitely wasn’t worth it. The Wi-Fi was by far the worst I’ve encountered in any hotel. It disconnected constantly and, when connected, barely reached speeds of 5 Mbps. For a hotel in a tourist-heavy area, this is unacceptable and suggests a clear lack of awareness of guest needs—especially for travelers who rely on Wi-Fi to plan outings or stay in touch. Noise was another major issue. The elevator makes a blaring siren-like noise when it opens, which woke me up every single morning. The walls and doors are paper-thin, making it easy to hear people walking or talking outside, and the doors slam shut loudly, adding to the disturbance. Finally, while not the hotel’s fault, there were a few homeless individuals living around the property, which might make some guests feel uneasy, particularly at night. All in all, while the staff were excellent and the location worked, there were just too many frustrating and avoidable issues—poor housekeeping, unusable Wi-Fi, subpar breakfast, noise problems, and a lack of attention to guest experience basics. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless the hotel makes significant improvements across the board."

"My primary reason for choosing this hotel was its excellent location, conveniently situated between the airport and the city center, which made taxi rides both straightforward and reasonably priced. Upon checking in, I was pleased to discover a wide array of recommended tours and activities, such as church musicals and golf cart excursions. This was incredibly helpful for someone like me who prefers not to meticulously plan every detail of their trip. Lastly, I have to praise their laundry service. Besides the usual per-item pricing, they offer a 'family laundry package,' which I recall being around €15 per kilogram. As we visited during summer, small items like T-shirts and socks don't add much weight. I sent in 3 T-shirts and 5 pairs of socks, and the total cost was only about €12. Each item came back smelling wonderfully fresh, almost like new clothes. What a delight not to have a smelly suitcase!"

"The bathroom was spacious, and the service was excellent; they even helped us split the king-size bed into two separate beds. The overall space was remarkably large for a European hotel, and it was very clean. The location was super convenient for getting around, and the air conditioning worked well – a big plus!"

"The hotel is perfectly located, an 8 minute walk with luggage from central Rome train and bus station. 20 minute walk to Trevi Fountain and Colesseum.  A range of bars snd restaurants close by.  Excellent breakfast choices and the staff were very accommodating.  Excellent front of house staff very helpful.  Will definitely recommend to friends and family and would personally visit again."

"It was okay. The location was good, and given that Switzerland is generally expensive, the price wasn't too bad. There was no air conditioning, but the temperature at night was fine. Overall, it was decent. Switzerland is pricey anyway. They offer a free public transport pass, which the staff didn't explicitly mention, but luckily I overheard it."

"If I could give them more than 10 out of 10, I would gladly do so! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful, respectful, and friendly. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and elegant, with rooms and amenities thoughtfully designed to provide guests with an unforgettable experience. The linens, bedding, lighting, and furniture were all exceptional. Our late-night garden dinner was delicious and made the evening even more special. Spending two nights here was the perfect cherry on top before leaving Rome. Thank you!"

"The facilities are a bit old and the room is quite small. However, the service is warm and friendly. It's very close to the train station, about a 15-minute walk, which makes it super convenient for a city walk to explore the ancient Roman area."

"Thank you very much for staying at the excellent Barberini Hotel. First of all, we have no comments. Secondly, the hotel is located in a perfect location at Barberini Square in the center of the eternal city, at the metro station. The service was very helpful, always answering questions before arrival suggesting the best solutions to choose to spend time in Rome. We could leave the baggage in the morning before checking in and also leave after checking out and then return for it. Breakfast first class ! The kindness of the service, smile with the Italian temperament at every step. The Clean Hotel, everything according to 4 stars. I highly recommend. I've been to Rome for 3 times and I know I'll come back and it's definitely to the Barberini Hotel. We managed to find the offer of this hotel on trivago within the time 31.12 - 01.01, which was more than 50% lower than other popular booking services ;-). Of course you need to search and book in time. To summarize your stay at the Barberini Hotel, I give you the highest rating."

"This was the most satisfying hotel of our Italy trip. It's very close to Tiburtina station, a 2-minute walk, and there are direct trains from the station to Fiumicino Airport. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly; seeing my poor English, they communicated with me very concisely and slowly. The king-size bed was 1.8 meters, much better than many 'fake' 1.5-meter king beds in Italy, and it was very clean. Plus, it had a balcony, which was a great bonus. Overall, everything was excellent."
