I was really happy to book such a great value-for-money hotel! It's a shame the private onsen rooms were so popular and fully booked. We just took what we could get, and it felt like opening a mystery box. The sunroom was actually pretty good, accommodating up to four people with two single beds and two futon sets. We booked the 'one night, two meals' plan. We could reserve our dinner and breakfast times upon check-in and just show up on time to eat – delicious and filling! 👍 The hotel also included two private onsen reservations. We went for a soak at 10 PM on the first night, and again at 10 AM after breakfast on the second day, which was perfect as check-out was at 11 AM. The hotel staff were excellent, warm, and polite. We even met the legendary driver who speaks Chinese, which felt a bit familiar and comforting 😁 The shuttle service starts at 3 PM in the afternoon, and if you want to go to the shopping street, the driver will even take you there. I genuinely recommend this hotel to everyone!
Excellent stay! I was in town for Ayumi Hamasaki's concert, and the venue was right across the street, just one block away. The hotel is also conveniently located near Citizen's Plaza Station, which is why I chose it. The hotel itself is grand and impressive, with a spacious and comfortable lobby. I arrived in the morning before check-in, so I relaxed in the lobby. There's even a convenience store inside the hotel, making it easy to grab anything you need. The room was very spacious, and the window offered a great view. While it's an older hotel, what truly matters is the comfort and overall feeling for guests, not just having the newest gadgets or facilities.
Compared to Kyoto, the Monterey in Kobe offers much better service. Sona is quite small, and lately, there's been too much of a Korean presence there. Although the hotel is a short walk from the station, it's still easy to find. There is indeed a red-light district nearby, making it a bit noisy and messy (though understandable). The room layout is reasonable, the TV supports screen mirroring, and the toiletries are generously provided, with the DHC lotion being particularly good. Don Quijote is just a short walk away, and it's very convenient to get to Sannomiya Station and Kitano Ijinkan (home to the famous 'Life Toast' and the 70-year-old coffee shop), all within walking distance. The breakfast selection is rich and delicious, with the bread being a pleasant surprise.
On a side note, you should definitely avoid the Monterey in Kyoto. Their unfriendliness towards Chinese guests is blatant, especially from the middle-aged Japanese female receptionist! She denied us available rooms unless we insisted and argued on the spot. She also reneged on a promised room type change, even rolling her eyes when a colleague confirmed it with her.🙄

Love this onsen hotel very much. My one night stay includes breakfast and dinner. All dishes are tasteful and made with heart, room is spacious. We love the 美景日式房帶露天風呂, and one cave onsen free of charge with high privacy. Nice stay and we will be back agin.
You could choose from a selection of amenities, and there was a welcome drink and snacks. Breakfast was also included, which consisted of a set of five small, toasted bread rolls and a beverage, allowing us to enjoy a warm breakfast.
Being on the first floor, the noise from footsteps upstairs, outside, and in the hallway was quite bothersome. The bed seemed to be broken; one side was severely sunken, making it very uncomfortable to sleep on, which was disappointing. My husband's side was fine, however.
We stayed here for a business trip as a couple. Aside from the noise issue, it was cheaper than a business hotel, and the bathroom and room were more spacious. So, I think it might be more comfortable to choose a non-business hotel when traveling as a couple. The staff were also very attentive.
Overall, it's pretty good, a comfortable chain hotel.
Don Quijote is directly opposite the hotel, which is really convenient for picking up little things. The big subway station isn't very close, so if you have a lot of luggage, you might want to reconsider, otherwise you'll be dragging it across a lot of cobblestones, and your hands will get pretty sore.
The hotel's location is probably in a bustling area. After 8 PM, there are many local 'energetic' young guys around, some drinking until 3 or 4 AM. The soundproofing isn't great, so if you're a light sleeper, I wouldn't recommend it. Behind the hotel are various local pubs, which can get very noisy at night.
This is my second time in Kobe, and I'll definitely come back again, it's so beautiful!
The hotel's location is excellent, offering a quiet retreat while being just across the street from Sannomiya Shopping Street, and to the west, it connects directly to Daimaru department store. The hotel is very clean. We booked a 'leisure twin room' which even had a small massage chair and was quite spacious; we could easily open up two large suitcases. The staff were also very friendly and quickly helped us call a taxi. The Italian restaurant on the second floor is absolutely delicious! The cocktails are great too, and not overpriced. We stayed for 7 days and ate there several times. Sometimes after a long day of sightseeing, we didn't want to go out, so we'd just order room service. We'll definitely choose this hotel again when we visit Kobe next time.
I really like this hotel and usually book two 20 sq.m. rooms when traveling with my family, which I did this time too. We arrived around 10 AM, dropped off our luggage, and headed out, returning for check-in after 9 PM. A male staff member mistakenly thought we'd booked one room, but after clarifying, we were given two. Upon entering, we noticed the room type differed from what we'd reserved; we received the 16.5 sq.m. layout. The difference was in room size and amenities; the 20 sq.m. rooms have a desk, a small dining table, and two chairs. I immediately contacted the front desk, but to no avail. Then I spoke with Trip.com, who said there were no other rooms available for an exchange. While getting ready, I found hair on the bathroom wall, a strange noise when turning on the hot water tap, and a missing button on the bathrobe. I contacted Trip.com again, and they offered a points compensation. I hope Trip.com's display pages accurately reflect reality and that the hotel assigns rooms according to reservations.
I booked a corner suite, and the room was huge with an amazing view. It had a massive jacuzzi, which was perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of shopping – I felt completely refreshed and ready to go again the next day! Though, I have to say, for Kobe, the price wasn't exactly cheap, so it really depends on what you're looking for.
During the day, there are malls and an Aeon supermarket around the hotel, but there are no convenience stores nearby at night, which was a bit inconvenient. So, remember to stock up before heading back to the hotel. I didn't book breakfast as it seemed to be a set menu, which I'm not a fan of.
Overall, it was a good experience. I'd definitely choose this hotel again if I come back to Kobe.

Very Good
GGuest UserThus is a love hotel For privacy, this hotel was built on top of a hill. You must drive! There is no public transport It takes at least 30 minutes from Shintetsu Rokko Station to walk up the hill. They only provide breakfast. Luckily they served me an all day breakfast upon my arrival cause I arrived in the evening !
The room is very good! Clean , comfortable, fridge ,big tv screen , lightings !Free tea bags and coffee ! There are plenty of amenities! You can watch tv while you have a bath in the tub
AAnonymous UserIt's a little far from the station, but the route is all local and walkable, so it's OK. It's right in the middle of the cherry blossom street, which is beautiful in this season. The breakfast and dinner look very rich, but the actual quantity is a bit small. The shabu-shabu beef doesn't come with eggs, probably because the quota is occupied by the hot spring egg experience. The room is large, but it's a bit cold at night with only the air conditioner on. Guests are provided with a 40-minute private soup, which is not bad
ししじみのみそしるIt was the best inn in every respect!
It is run by a family and is a small inn as the name suggests, so the service was excellent and we were very satisfied with the inn.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Kinosaki Onsen.
- It is close to the station and on the main road, so it is very accessible. (There is also a convenience store nearby)
- The inn is new and seems to have been designed by an architect, so the space is stylish and clean, and the rooms are spacious and relaxing.
- The main river can be seen from the window of the room, so the view is great.
- We chose a plan that only included breakfast, but there are many good shops in Kinosaki Onsen, so we were able to enjoy local beer nearby, which was great for us.
- The breakfast was very delicious and the volume was just right, so we were very satisfied.
- Yukata, geta, basket bag, bath towels and face towels to use in the outdoor baths were available in the room.
- Toothbrushes, skin care products (I was able to use it even though I have extremely sensitive skin), cleansing products and face washes were also available.
・They kindly stored my luggage for me before check-in and after check-in.
I'll use this service again the next time I come to Kinosaki.
Thank you for your help!
