"I am a young Englishman on a 20 day solo self-drive road trip across northern Heilongjian and Inner Mongolia. After my stay in Hulun Buir, I decided to drive down to Arxan for 2 nights exploring. I booked this stay based off of the other foreign guests' positive experience. I arrived in the town late in the evening. The boss was waiting for me and was attentive and welcoming from the start. The room is very spacious and comfortable, and the temperature was just right. Everything is provided and replaced when needed. After hiking in the national park, I came back to the boss and his extended family making CNY preparations. Then I was invited to drink Chinese tea (Dian Hong) at their tea table. I was then welcomed to eat with the family, drink beer and eat until I was full. I was welcomed not just as a guest of theirs, but as a family friend. In mid-winter, Aershan/Arxan is a quiet and cold place. I came as part of a long journey taking my rented 4x4 Tank 300 through the snow and ice on routes apart of the Hulun Buir Snow and Ice Festival. My journey was peaceful, solemn and isolated. The hospitality and warm welcome was exactly what I needed after my long drive alone and it is a memory I will take home to the UK with me. I highly recommend this guesthouse, especially if you are travelling solo across this wilderness. Thank you brother. However, I witnessed the whole process of a young man almost fighting with the guests, which made me very surprised and incredible. I was very angry. I felt that the attitude of the hotel was not good. I almost wanted to do it when I received the plate at breakfast time. The little brother should shut up when he eats me. In fact, he solved everything in four words ”sorry”, but he was kind. The guest has a sentence of his n, what is the service, there is no sense of service at all, and it is speechless. The hotel management system needs to be further improved. As an outsider, I also feel that living here is not respected. 😟 It is not enough for the management to do a good job. "After choosing for a long time, I finally decided to stay at Jianshan Xishan in Yilshi. My children love purple sweet potato balls the most. I asked the boss for another portion. The boss is very enthusiastic and the lady at the front desk has a very gentle voice. The downside is that the daily housekeeping does not clean the bathroom and toilet, the hair I lost the night before was still there the next day and was not cleaned up, the shower door was broken and could not be closed, it was very cold when taking a shower, and the water splashed out. Facts have proved that the boss is right, he can really order food We arrived at almost 11 o'clock in the middle of the night, and it was super cold. If you want to have a meal by car, it is recommended to call the boss in advance to confirm whether he can support it. When you go out, it doesn’t matter where you are going. Just drive. Don’t walk. You’ll be freezing if you take a few steps below zero at night (ʘ̥∧ʘ̥) The restaurant is in the alley next to the central stage. There are red lanterns at the door. The B&B has its own vegetable garden. The portions are huge. Two people with their chests pressed against their backs couldn't finish two dishes they ordered. I personally think it's very affordable. The average price per person is less than 100. One meat and one vegetarian dish comes with milk tea as the staple food. The hand-grilled mutton is not spicy and has a milky aroma. I feel a little bit about the food characteristics of Inner Mongolia. It’s okay for such a remote place, and there are dozens of dishes to choose from. The milk tea is a big thermos bottle. If you don’t finish it, you can take it back to your house. Just remember to pay a deposit and send the milk tea thermos bottle back before you leave. Let’s talk about hotel facilities. It’s just like the store’s picture, it’s amazing. The rough thatched cottage courtyard outside, with open doors and fine decoration. The room has double doors + double windows, which makes it very warm at first glance (in addition, I use the space between the two windows as a refrigerator. The uneaten food is placed directly between the two layers of the window, it is perfect) After reading the reviews in advance, we turned on the electric blanket as soon as we entered the room. It was just right when we went to bed and the quilt was very warm. At the same time, I turned on the heater and water heater in the bathroom. The water heater became very hot after a while. The amount of hot water was very intuitive. It was a big brand water heater. It seemed that the boss wasted money. It's just that the hot and cold water in the pool are in the opposite direction, which makes me laugh to death. The left side is cold and the right side is hot, but it doesn't matter. If you mind that the hotel towels are not clean, bring your own or just stand under the warm air and blow dry them.
