Dongdaemun Boutique Hotel is located next to Hualien Hou Railway Station. It is quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle, and has convenient life functions. The whole hotel uses barrier-free facilities, which is convenient for passengers with disabilities and luggage. The atrium of the hotel also has a well-designed texture landscape. It is more beautiful, and it is very suitable for groups or family and friends to travel.

"It is located right next to Hualien Train Station, but it is the West Exit instead of the Main Exit. You need to walk pass a pedestrian bridge located inside Hualien Station to get to this exit. The hotel itself is very clean and cozy. It has quite a few convenient stores nearby, and it also provides free snacks and fruit for customers. One thing to take note is, the hotel door is not a magnetic lock, instead it is a conventional key lock. So don’t expect the door to lock by itself when you go out. But this might sometimes be a plus point because you don’t need to be worried about the situation where you being locked outside and forgot to bring your room key."

Renovated in 2025, the Lakeshore Hotel Hualien is a great choice for accommodation in Hualien. Boasting a convenient location, the hotel is just 4km from Hualien Station and 6km from Hualien Airport. With multiple attractions nearby including Dongdamen Night Market, Turumoan Whale Watching Experience and Hualian Gang, guests will find plenty to keep themselves occupied. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. Our guests rate this hotel as one of the best hotels for cleanliness. For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.

"Positives: - like all lakeshore hotels in Taiwan, fantastic breakfast spread, especially incorporating local hualien food like gongzheng baos etc… - sauna with a sea view.. what else to ask for - children playroom - comfy rooms and excellent service all round by all staff - bath tub near the window where you can soak and see the sea - coin operated laundry room with washers and dryers (affordable plus only two each.. so may have to wait) - small snacks and beverages provided for guests daily on the ground floor Negatives: - only really gripes is the location.. about 2 km away from the city centre so not much to do in the neighbourhood - sea view room is actually the view of the port and a distance away… technically hotel is not wrong.. but should lower your own expectations"

"The hotel room was very clean and spacious. It's only a 5-minute walk to Hualien Station (bus and train). From the station, you can take minibus #8 to Qixingtan Beach for TWD 25 per person. I was very impressed with the beautiful, clean beach and clear water – a must-visit!"

"Superb hotel. Great location near the waterfront. Public transport nearby. 7-11 just up the street. Nice large rooms, lovely closed in balcony facing the sea. Huge bathtub and Japanese style toilet in the bathroom. Breakfast was interesting, other than toast it was all aimed at the Asian palate and interesting to try. Complimentary ”Afternoon tea” is included which is really from 2pm until late and consists of 4 different types of ice cream, coffee or tea and some snacks in packets. Excellent stay and great value for money. So good we increased our visit from 2 to 6 nights."

"For the location, it's quite far out from the center of Hualien. So you will need to hail a taxi or call the reception desk to book a shuttle bus to pick you up from the station and to the station. Another thing to know is that Uber doesn't work here so you will need to download another app or just physically hail a taxi. However, this is the best hotel I've stayed so far in Taiwan. The room & toilet are extremely spacious and clean. There is a lot of facilities in this hotel that includes a free pool table, ping pong table and swimming pool for you to enjoy. The breakfast buffet is also quite good with a lot of selection as well."

"On our Taiwan island tour, we stopped in Hualien. We arrived at night to watch whales and dolphins the next day. Unexpectedly, booking a hotel in Hualien was difficult. The Ambassador Hotel in Hualien was available for the night, though the price was a little high. All in all, it was wonderful."

GGuest UserWe are very happy with our stay in this inn. Service was tip top. The lady and guy at the reception were very helpful and polite. Knowing that we are muslims and they are so helpful and kind to prepare a meal that has no meat for us. The lady staff even made a special vegetarian order for us to have our breakfast on the go because we needed to leave the inn early for our activity. The guy made an effort to help us read the ingredient list on the snacks they offered with us asking him to. We are really thankful for this gesture. It means alot to us especially traveling to a country where halal food is not easily found. Breakfast was fantastic. We love the salmon toast so much! Room was clean and well maintained. We do want to apologise on our son's behalf for the screams and cry during our stay. He was having a meltdown. Sorry to both the staff having to handle other guest who may have complained to you for the noise. Will we be back? Most definitely.

GGuest UserBest best best hotel we have ever stayed in. Services provided was excellent. All staff were very genuinely. It really felt like a 5 star hotel. We stayed in another 5 star hotel in Jiaoxi which is No. 1 in Jiaoxi but the service cannot be matched. Well done to all the staff. Room was always clean. Thank you to the staff who cleaned our spectacle. It was a nice gesture. Different snacks were topped up everyday. The face mask provided was so good! Surrounding of the hotel was very nice. We had the gorge view and OMG! We don't mind waking up to this view everyday. We hope they will contruct a stairs for guest to go down to the gorge. It is a waste to just see it from the top. Breakfast was good. We could see that they have made an effort to label which is vegetarian and which is not. It's very thoughtful of the restaurant. However, we had a seafood porridge and thought it was purely seafood but notice there was chicken in it but not written. Maybe they can improve in this. Kids are very well entertained in this hotel. They have a huge play room for them. Indoor pool with heated pool is enough to keep the kids occupied for 2hours at least. They also have daily activities and some are free. Thank you Silk Place for the wonderful stay. We will be back.

Vvincentlulu0325Lakeshore Hotel Hualien Taroko has three buildings, which can be a bit confusing, but the staff were all very polite and patiently explained everything. The breakfast in the restaurant was abundant, delicious, and offered a wide and refined selection. I didn't realize when booking that breakfast wasn't included, so I added it for 500 per person, which I felt was well worth it. The room was clean, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. They also provided complimentary afternoon tea snacks. The surrounding environment is natural and spacious, and you can walk to the beach in just a short while. Overall, I was very satisfied.

SSunnyhuangThis hostel is conveniently located right across from Hualien train station and the transfer station. The breakfast is incredibly generous with new dishes every day, and the entire space is very clean. Having a self-service washing machine is also a big plus. There's a 7-Eleven right next door, and you're greeted with beautiful views of layered mountains as soon as you step outside.

GGuest UserWell strategic location Hotel. The room is bright. But the room housekeeping is very poor. Eventhough i requested to clean the room, the auntie did not clean it. She just tidy up the bed very fast and change new towel. Never vacuum/mop the floor, dust and hair on the floor very obviously. So don’t expect she vacuum the bed if u request to change the bed sheet. Got flea/ bed bugs. I thought my eczema flare up. But once both my parents also experienced the same. And I noticed the bed sheet got a few spots a little dot. Then yeah it’s bed bugs. I hope the housekeeping auntie can make it better.

AAnonymous UserHad a very underwhelming experience for the money that we paid for this hotel. Decor was very outdated (i.e. 2000s), which was understandable as this is an old hotel. Service staff was quite rude when we asked for directions and recommendations for food and things to see around the area. Do note that the carpark is very small and there are no parking lots surrounding the area. When we checked in, the carpark attendant told us that their carpark lot was at full capacity.

GGr3gBI stayed here for a few days and can only recommend it! The train and bus stations are just a few steps away, and the city center is within walking distance. The room was spacious and comfortable, with many thoughtful touches such as free coffee, snacks, and even ice cream!

GGuest UserThe exterior may not be very stunning and the hotel may feel a bit old, but after entering, you will slowly discover its inner charm. The Daoxiang double room we stayed in was very elegant and large, especially the oversized bed which was super comfortable to sleep on. I am an elderly person who is undergoing neck rehabilitation and I am very picky about beds and pillows, but I slept very soundly and deeply here. A big thumbs up to the hotel owner for choosing the hard bed facilities. The room is super clean. Although the hardware equipment is not new, it has a simple and elegant charm, which I like. It's a bit like Kung Fu tea that needs to be savored slowly. We are an elderly couple who came to Hualien to visit friends. Before checking in, we requested a quiet room with no smoke. We could not stay in the side room due to our physical condition. Although the room had some minor flaws in sound insulation, the hotel met our needs. The peaceful and pleasant environment in the rice fields will give you a good night's sleep. The backyard also gets high marks, and is perfect for a relaxing stroll. The breakfast was rich and delicious. This is very suitable for us who don't need dazzling amusement facilities and come here to enjoy a comfortable and relaxing accommodation environment. The only drawback is that they don't provide dinner, but we solved that by using the hotel's instant noodles and ordering takeout via mobile phone. The price is very reasonable and it is a highly recommended accommodation.
