"You have to give a 100yuan deposit for the key card. I had trouble with my WeChat not accepting the refund, and when I asked the staff to help, they sighed and got annoyed. Even went as far to say “my head hurts” to nearby customers and other unnecessary stuff in mandarin thinking I couldn’t understand. Like, my head hurts too, I just want the money back that you said you’d refund me. All worked out in the end, but didn’t appreciate the attitude. Also even though this is called a youth hostel, there were many older people staying which led to a weird vibe. Good location and ok for the night but I wouldn’t stay again"

"숙소 청결이 그렇게 좋진않아요. 근데 다들 너무 친절해요. A동 22층으로 가야해요 처음에 찾기 너무 어려웠어요. 휴지랑 비누가 없어요ㅠ(이게 너무 불편했음) 수건제공도 안되구요. 밤 몇시부터는 드라이어사용 금지였어요! 정수기랑 슬리퍼 드라이어 있고 치약칫솔 샴푸 바디워시는 일회용품 있어요! 근데 다들 너무 친절하셔서 좋은기운 받고갔어요 무료짐보관도 가능해요"

"I stayed in this hostel for a total of 5 nights, with two breaks when I went on tours outside of Lanzhou. I have put in reviews earlier, so this is my final for the hostel that had begun to feel like Home. The hostel itself is very comfortable a stay: clean, comfortable wide bed with sliding door for privacy, nice seating areas... It is run by a family who take turns staying over so that there is 24 hour reception. All are friendly and kind, especially the father. The parents don't speak English but you can easily use a translation app; other guests will probably interact with you. The location: it is situated about a 5 minute walk to the Yellow River Tower, and a further 10 minute walk to the Lanzhou Old Street area where there is an amazing array of food options. Just outside the hostel is a Halal (Muslim-run) restaurant called (Ruhua 如华）which the hostel owners say have been in operation for 20 or 30 years. The hand-pulled (手抓) mutton that I had there was fantastic, even though I am typically not a mutton eater --- the taste is a delicate and balanced mix of light spices (I could taste a hint of ginger, for example) and saltiness. And the 八宝茶 is also excellent. A 7 minute walk to the right after exiting the hostel (past the above -mentioned restaurant) to the main road where many buses ply, you will find another good mix of local food options, especially in the morning. The hostel is conveniently located near the Lanzhou West railway station. There is a bus 136 that runs just outside the hostel and gets you to the railway station in 20 minutes. Hope this helps someone deciding on where to stay in Lanzhou, since there doesn't seem such a good range of hostels. "A room of about ten square meters. Closing the door isolates you from the city's hustle and bustle. A clean and tidy bed. Bright and spotless windows. Warm, thick slippers and paper cups. Not from a street vendor or some cheap online store. A convenient, pristine white power strip charger gives you a sense of security. Outside the window, the Yellow River flows calmly and clearly, a sight only seen this season. Looking up, you see the landmark White Pagoda Mountain, its desolate, bare branches stretching towards the sky, a harbinger of approaching spring."

"I stayed in a 4-person room. The room was minimalist and medium-small, with lockers – basic but comfortable. The common area is stylish and inviting, with plenty of seating, cozy corners, plants, kettles, and power outlets, though it’s on a high floor with a glass ceiling – warm when hot, cozy when cold, and the few fans aren’t always enough. The staff at the desk were friendly, laundry facilities available, though no snacks or cold drinks. The area is urban, among regular buildings, so not particularly attractive from the outside, but within walking distance to the museum and the metro station, with a large supermarket and several food options nearby. Overall, a decent place to stay in Lanzhou."

"The location is very convenient. A few hundred meters from Zhongshan Bridge Baita Mountain. The boss is very good. I came back late at night. I didn’t have an access card. I couldn’t get in. I called the boss and immediately contacted the staff. But on the first day of the stay, there was water in the bathroom. I stepped on the slippery back and squinted on the steps. I bought Yunnan Baiyao and sprayed it. I dealt with it briefly. I told the staff that the bathroom is easy to slip. I can get a non-slip mat. The staff promised that I didn’t do it at all. I’m not sure how long I’m still staying in Lanzhou. The room is awake every morning. I think about whether I want to wait for the staff to renew the subscription. The most uncomprehensible thing is that the room guest called at 5:30 in the morning and told the guest that there were still people resting and still continuing to play. The room was very small. "The hostel, a mixed-gender place, is located in a residential complex. There's only one bathroom; the economy class rooms are in the living room area. The capsule rooms are quieter, but the complex can be quite noisy at times. Roommates are a matter of luck; some are very noisy, some are quiet, and some even check in late at night. I didn't see any cleaning staff when I left."
