"The reviews giving this place give stars as their favorite place are a bit overzealous. The views are definitely spectacular but the deficits aren't lacking. The pros do not justify this hotel; simply that ko lanta is a great destination. Keep in mind: there is no lotion nor conditioner here: curly hair, especially type 4, will suffer. The is no washcloth, phone in the rooms, nor hot tub. Wifi is guarded more than the nuclear football, rooms are certainly worn, there are no USB outlets. For couples: there are definitely young kids here who will never remember the trip, so you may hear crying during breakfast or when trying to get a massage. The maids are neglectful at replacing room amenities, the safe is broken and this place is not vegan friendly. They served me egg in the first dish ordered after recommending I simply let their restaurant know. I did not get the impression that they really understand how to handle dietary needs. The restaurant is awfully overpriced and the food is okay if you even trust the restaurant. Breakfast I stuck to fruit only... I had to go into town for food; Drunken Sailor tasted amazing. Staff friendliness could use improvement. They could at least try to hide their disdain for tourists better. This is expressed with body language and also verbally as we were told false information more than once, when greetings don't even preface with a hello and when staff prioritize chatting with each other rather than assisting a guest. When I asked for Sfiff's name, since nobody wears name badges nor introduces themselves.. to properly greet her. She acted like I was asking for her first born son! They conveniently don't mention that due to Ramadan, there's closed shops and you have to rent a bike to reach the nearest one. That would have saved an hour of time. If you opt in to the hotel taxi service, it will take 3 hours to reach the hotel at 3,000 baht one way. No food or water after a long flight and travel were provided, so please get it from the airport. Google ”Mun Lanta” taxi for 2200 baht taxi via Whatsapp, where they also provide food and water. Furthermore, the system to rent a motorbike is convoluted as you will incur late fees if not returned in time. Why not simply charge for the actual time instead of playing games with late fees and guesstimating return time? This hotel is far overpriced. Get something for half the price, rent a motorbike in town to access better restaurants and the same street. That's my STRONG recommendation."

"Pros: Great location – Klong Dao Beach is just a couple of minutes away via a concrete path to the left of the hotel entrance (though swimming can be tricky at low tide). It's also close to the good northern part of Long Beach. There's a decent-sized 7/11 right across the road. The hotel offers a terrace area with low tables and floor cushions, perfect for smokers. There's also a luggage storage room, handy for leaving bags for a few hours before or after check-in. The beds are comfortable, and each room has its own bathroom (toilet, shower, sink). Plus, there are extra sinks near the reception, so no issues with washing up. The bed linen is good. There's a curtain, but it's for two people, not individual. Each bed has its own fan, plus a shared one. A kettle is also provided. Cons: It's a bit pricey, comparable to a decent hotel in Bangkok. Check-out is at 11 AM instead of 12 PM. There's some road noise, but it's not critical; earplugs weren't needed. Air conditioning runs on a schedule, which seems to be a common practice in this area. More hooks are needed; even a couple of nails in the bathroom would be helpful. There's a large gap between the bed and the wall that's quite dirty – no need to move anything to clean it, and the dust, hair, and fur are very visible against the white linen. While I was there, they mowed the grass behind the hotel, but it's otherwise an overgrown wasteland. This space could easily be turned into a lounge area or smoking spot without much investment, perhaps just a tarp tent like at the Saladan night market, or ideally, a pool! On the opposite side of reception, there's an abandoned area with toilets and some other room. The potted palm trees are drying out."

"We had a wonderful time at the Alama Resort. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We loved the pool area the most; we spent several hours there every day, always found a spot, and the water was very clean. The food and drinks were also delicious. Our room was cleaned daily, the air conditioning worked well, and our balcony was very cozy, surrounded by greenery. The location was great, with the beach just a few minutes' walk away, where we watched the sunset every evening. We would always recommend it and would love to come back!"

"for the price i paid for this hotel I was disappointed from the room i was given! the AC was an OLD system ( no clicker), I was forced to turn it Off at night due the excessive noise and it was in the Room itself. shower pressure was very Weak/Slow. other than that, the Staff was very nice and responsive to any question. the Breakfast was ok, i just didn't understand why the coffee offered was an instant coffee (vs. the drip Thai coffee). No flip-flops, no small towels.."

"We traveled as a family with young children and stayed at Chomview Koh Lanta. The room was spacious and big enough to comfortably accommodate four people, which was very convenient for our family. However, there were several issues during our stay. The walkway to the room had no lighting at night, which felt unsafe, especially when traveling with children. We also experienced water shortages, and the room had an unpleasant smell coming from the toilet. The location is quite far from the main road, so transportation is necessary to get around. This may not be convenient for families without their own vehicle. On a positive note, the staff hospitality was good and they were friendly and helpful. Overall, the hotel has good room size and kind staff, but improvements are needed in maintenance, lighting, and water supply."

"This hotel is perfect for just 1-2 nights. We were checked in exactly at 2 PM. The scooter we rented right here was very old, difficult to start, and the fuel gauge was unreadable. We stayed on the third floor, and going up and down wasn't very convenient. The artificial potted plants on the floors were surprising; they really didn't add any beauty. There's a water cooler with drinking water on the floor. In the room, the outlets were conveniently located near each bed. What I didn't like was that for a double room, there was only one glass, one cup, and one spoon. There were also very few napkins, and they ran out quickly. There were no places to dry swimsuits, so we hung them on the balcony railing, then had to look for them on the ground floor because half of them blew away in the wind. The biggest downside of the room was the noisy air conditioning unit on the balcony. We always showered with cold water because hot water was only available during the day. There was none in the morning or evening. Our window view is in the photos. And yes, the road to the beach passes by cows and their 'products' :)) We didn't like the beach; there were too many rocks in the water, so we didn't relax there. A 7/11 is within walking distance. There's a mosque nearby, so it gets very loud during prayer times."

"Wonderful find. I spent hours trying to find rhe right place and I did. Rim Khao is a lovely little group of bungalows that back into the forest, but are conveniently on the main road and just a 10 minute walk from the beach. This is a brilliant place for a really good price. I spent hours watching the monkeys, ants, lizards, frogs, birds and butterflies that were very present. As I had no transport and only a walking budget, was limited where I went. But there was enough. The beach is beautiful for swimming and sunbathing. There is little shade, but if you walk to the end of the beach, theres a lot more shade there. If tou are happy to scramble the rocks, there is plenty of wildlife there too....fish, a billion crabs and brazen seabirds.there are plenty of restaurants, both local and tourist all just a stones throw away and the walking street is as good as any. The room was very quiet with air con and a fan that were efficient. The hot water was plentiful in the shower and cleaners were operating every day. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and English was really strong which of course is always appreciated , but never expected. The pool is more of a plunge pool, but thats all i personally ever need. You may consider it needs a bit of tlc, but it didnt bother me. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and the road could barely be heard.just remember that the call to prayer can be heard almost everywhere. Oh, and a 7/eleven right next door. Amazing, and i hope to go back."

"Booked four nights with three different room types during Chinese New Year. When we moved to the family room, there was a power outage from 3 to 5 PM, and it got incredibly hot inside. The living room was downstairs, with two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs. The hotel is quite large for the island, but the overall facilities are very old and outdated. The front desk service was okay, but there was a male waiter in the restaurant who spoke a little Chinese and was very rude. When we were eating in their restaurant, he started clearing our plates before we were even finished, as if he was rushing us out. We tried a few restaurants on the island, and this one had the worst service by far! Oh, and the breakfast in the morning was absolutely terrible, with hardly anything worth eating."

"Nice place But not for the faint hearted half way up a mountain very steep nice people I'm 61 and fit but in the heat I struggled No pool and beach 20 minutes walk Does need finishing off as only opened last year Be great then"

"I stayed at the Tamarind Twin resort as a solo traveller for 4 nights and thought it was very good. The place is in a nice quiet location both close to the beach and restaurants and bars on the high street. The staff were very helpful and I booked all my trips and ferry journeys with them along with a scooter rental. The pool was nice for a dip after being at the beach and I could always get a sun lounger. I would have no hesitation booking this place again if I return to Koh Lanta."
