"Wild Coast Tented Lodge by Relais & Châteaux. This luxury wilderness resort was founded by Dilmah's renowned tea company. All accommodations are tented, giving our child a taste of super-sized tent camping. The extra bed for children was a fun touch. As our butler said, 'I'm sure she'll love it,' and she did! The meals are all-inclusive, covering three delicious and hearty meals a day (lunch can be enjoyed on check-in day or after check-out the next day), afternoon tea, sunset cocktail hour, and a daily jeep safari in the national park. It cost around 9K per night for two adults and one child. The resort is located within Yala National Park, so you'll frequently spot monkeys, deer, lizards, and squirrels, and even elephants occasionally visit. For any movement between 7 PM and 7 AM, you need to call staff to accompany you. The biggest advantage is skipping the safari queue. There's a dedicated fast track, and seeing dozens, if not hundreds, of other vehicles waiting to register made us feel quite smug. However, to spot a leopard 🐆, you still need to wake up at 4:30 AM."

The dining options are rich and delicious, the Verala restaurant's cuisine is exquisite and authentic, the seafood in the Il Mare restaurant is fresh and colorful, and the room delivery we tried is warm and intimate. The most memorable is the hotel's teasing cooking class, followed by the chef to learn to do Sri Lankan cuisine, became a special memory point during the journey. The service here really translates to ”home away from home”. From welcoming staff to exclusive guest room hosts, everyone with a sincere smile will remember your preferences carefully, the beach lifeguard will take the initiative to hand over towels, and even staff members will climb up the coconut tree in the rain to send fresh king coconut. This intimate but not disturbing care makes the whole stay experience particularly comfortable. Even staying in the hotel all day will never be boring, perfect facilities can meet all needs, and the SPA healing project is a great choice to remove fatigue. When leaving, I am reluctant to leave, the scenery, food and warm people here have become the most precious memories of Sri Lanka, and will definitely come back again!"

The scenery, with the water and sky mirroring each other, is incredibly therapeutic. Walking around the grounds, you’ll see egrets gracefully strolling on the lawns or flying low overhead, and various small animals everywhere. Even lizards, which are “standard Southeast Asian fare,” add to the ecological feel – it truly feels like living in a wildlife park. The hotel's outdoor pool is large and expansive, offering direct lake views, perfect for photos and relaxation. The bathroom, in particular, is very large, making it comfortable to use. Given that it's an eco-park in Sri Lanka, occasionally you might find small mosquitoes near the toilet, which is normal for Southeast Asian hotels and perfectly acceptable. The hotel has two restaurants, offering both à la carte and buffet options. The food quality is decent, and they support Alipay and WeChat Pay, which is much more cost-effective than using local currency directly. 🍽️ **[Dining Experience: Lacking Highlights, Buffet Rather Ordinary]** Due to an upset stomach, we didn’t try the buffet and ordered à la carte, which tasted pretty good. The breakfast buffet looked like it had many options and was quite crowded, but in reality, there weren't many choices that suited our taste. Also, because there are many Indian guests staying, both breakfast and dinner had dedicated Indian food sections. For tourists not used to strong flavors, this further limited the options. Compared to a five-star hotel's positioning, the breakfast as a whole was only average, which is a common issue with most hotels in Sri Lanka. 📍 **[Location and Travel: An Excellent Base for Safari]** The hotel is not far from Yala National Park's Safari area, making it very convenient whether you’re driving yourself or using a private car. We personally found that there’s no need to rush for an early morning safari; an afternoon departure offered a much better experience. We saw a leopard as soon as we entered the park and also spotted most of the iconic animals mentioned in guidebooks. There's no need to get up early and rush, and you can return to the hotel to relax right after – the pace was incredibly comfortable. Always prioritize using Alipay/WeChat for payments, as the exchange rate is much better than using local currency directly. Overall, this hotel is absolutely worth staying at, thanks to its stunning ecological environment and excellent location! If you're coming for the safari and natural scenery, this place will definitely be a highlight of your trip. The only minor regret is that the dining didn't quite match the overall quality."

The peaceful surroundings allowed us to completely unwind without any distractions — it truly felt like we had the entire place to ourselves. Right from the start, we were treated to a lovely surprise: a room upgrade with a stunning ocean view. Falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the waves was pure magic. The food was a highlight — beautifully flavored local dishes with a creative twist. Knowing that everything was sourced sustainably from local farmers made the experience even more meaningful. What really stood out was the hospitality. During my stay, I sprained my ankle, and the staff went above and beyond to take care of me. A special thank you to Lakshitha, who was incredibly kind and attentive throughout my recovery. This is a place where nature, comfort, and genuine care come together. "It is just two next door to jetwing yala, this is a primitive one, the modern one, here is a small single-family room, outside the room is the forest of the national park, it is said that animals may be seen. In general, the hotel here is suitable for people who are not afraid of bugs and prefer the original environment, because there are really too many small bugs in the room, flies, mosquitoes, flying insects and gecko. After staying for one night, I found three geckos running fast, and I was still a little scared. 😂. The facilities are OK, but the electricity is unstable. The power is cut off several times. Although the call is very fast, the hot water is too small. There is no separate restaurant. If you eat, you will take the car at the front desk to the next house for dinner. According to friends, the dinner buffet is not bad. Choose on demand"

"We had a wonderful time. The hotel and the staff were absolutely amazing. They took such great care of us and really ensured our holiday was special. It's hard to mention everyone by name but a particular mention to Chandana who was our head waiter. He went above and beyond for every meal we were there, and really looked after us. Also another mention to our gentleman from the pool (I'm sorry I forgot his name), but he also was really amazing and took great care of us. There was a resident turtle in the cove which we saw every day which just made it even more amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel."
