The painter Wu Guanzhong described Gongtan Ancient Town as ”a Song Dynasty town, a Tang Dynasty street, the home of grandparents!” This guesthouse is located on the south side, very close to the south parking lot. The owner is a kind and simple man, not very talkative, but very enthusiastic; he braved the rain to pick us up from the parking lot. The guesthouse faces the street, with large rooms, balconies, and is very clean and hygienic. Below is the Wujiang River; even sitting on the bed, you can see the green waters of the Wujiang River and the mountains of Guizhou across the river. "If you’re traveling to Gongtan ancient town, I highly recommend this hotel! It is located right in front of the pier and looks exactly like the pictures. Sparkling clean, spacious room and very new. The host was very nice and they picked us up at the location where they drop you off if you take the shuttle bus from the Pengshuixi station. They also provided free drop-off too, to the same place they picked us up. The view was insanely beautiful and while there are lots of stairs, the host helped us bring our luggages to our room. I chose this hotel out of the other ones because it’s a divided bathroom and looked clean and new. The hotel also has a restaurant upstairs which serve delicious food that’s not too oily or spicy. Overall, highly recommended"
