"This hotel, Changliu Mountain Abode, shares its name with Changliu from 'The Journey of Flower' and boasts a wonderful ambiance. The guest rooms are not in the main lobby building but in a separate, independent building next to it. The rooms are incredibly spacious, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a massage bed, which made for a very comfortable rest and a fantastic night's sleep. The balcony features a large bathtub, which adds a great touch to the atmosphere. Curtains around the tub ensure privacy, so there's no need to worry about that. The only minor drawback is that there's no indoor connecting passage between the two buildings. If it rains, you have to go outside, which means you could get wet. The hotel's advantages are quite prominent. It has a private gate that offers direct access to the popular Fish Scale Dam, making it very convenient for water activities. However, summer is peak season, and the Fish Scale Dam gets very crowded, so it's advisable to visit during off-peak hours. The thoughtful welcome amenities include a complimentary afternoon tea, and the breakfast buffet offers a rich variety of choices."

"This hotel exceeded my expectations. We traveled here by private car from Baise, and the entrance is quite small – truly a hidden gem, just as other online reviews described! The natural environment of the hotel is quite impressive. But what surprised me even more was the service. From check-in, seeing that there were three of us, they upgraded us to a triple room with a panoramic corner view, so we could wake up with the sunrise. Since we didn't have a car and were planning how to get to Detian Scenic Area (even though it's only 2 kilometers away), the front desk offered a shuttle service. So, the round-trip transfers to Detian from the hotel on our second day were all arranged by the hotel staff. During our 1+ day stay, every single staff member we encountered greeted us warmly with a smile, and offered helpful advice on routes and precautions for exploring the scenic area. Their genuine kindness was the most delightful aspect of our trip. Additionally, the hotel's own restaurant offers all-day dining. We had a late breakfast, then headed to Detian, and after Detian, we went to the Blue Grotto. We didn't want to eat at those scenic area restaurants, as the ambiance and food safety are definitely not as good as the hotel's. So, after finishing our activities, we chose to dine at the hotel around 3 PM. We just needed to inform the front desk what we wanted to eat about half an hour in advance. The pineapple rice is a must-try!"

We decided to come to Mingshi Countryside after seeing Detian Waterfall. We wanted convenient transportation but didn't want to be on a noisy main road. We also wanted a beautiful window view, and the kids wanted a swimming pool. With all these demands, the price was definitely beyond our initial budget. Then, by chance, I saw this place and thought we'd just stay for a night and switch if it wasn't good. The hotel is located in an alley just off the main road. The entrance was a bit narrow, and I was a little worried at first. But once we got in, the enthusiastic owner helped us with our luggage and offered fresh fruit as a welcome. The room had a super large panoramic window and a unique bedside viewing setup. Staying here, I truly understood that 'countryside' means allowing everyone to slow down and experience the wild beauty. It's not necessarily about convenient commercial facilities or perfectly paved roads. This natural wild charm combined with comfortable accommodation made our trip so much more relaxed and enjoyable. We didn't hesitate to extend our stay for another night, and the owner even upgraded us to a different room with a better view. The breakfast every morning was also very thoughtfully prepared; they just didn't want us to leave hungry! The room facilities were also very tasteful, and there were drinks in the mini-fridge.
