"My friend and I stayed at the Tianyuan Hangyou Hotel during a layover in Urumqi, and it was the perfect choice for a short stay near the airport. The location is extremely convenient - just ~15 minutes away from the terminal, which made our transit hassle-free. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from the airport, which was a great advantage.
Though the hotel could use minor renovations, the price-to-quality ratio is excellent. The room had all the essentials: slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste, a comb, a hairdryer, an electric kettle, cups, and bottled water. The Wi-Fi worked well, which was important for us to plan our day trip and order a taxi.
One of the highlights was the breakfast buffet, which offered a good variety of options. Even if you're not yet accustomed to Chinese cuisine, you can find simple choices like boiled eggs and mantou (steamed buns).
For sightseeing, the city center and main attractions (such as the Xinjiang Museum, Red Hill Park, the Grand Bazaar, and the mosque) are about 30 minutes away by taxi. We managed to explore all of them in a day. Nearby, there are also local markets, convenience stores, and small cafés for snacks and essentials.
Overall, if you need a comfortable, budget-friendly hotel close to Urumqi Airport with good service and decent amenities, Tianyuan Hangyou Hotel is a great option. Highly recommended for transit travelers!"

No. 3 of 4-Star Select Hotels in Urumqi"I stayed at Tianyuan Jingyi Hotel during my layover to my trip to Almaty. In general, I had a positive experience. The hotel is Situated right inside the airport. There is no need to exit the airport at all. After arrivals you can see the signs, walking around 10 min you are at the hotel.
The room and common areas were decent and tidy. My room was spacious and it had all the amenities.
Breakfast is included mostly Chinese and a few western options.
Overall, it is great value for money and a good hotel for a layover."

A simple suggestion: if delays are likely, being upfront about it would be appreciated, as many guests are more than happy to arrange their own transport and pay for it themselves."

"Excellent location, price is slightly cheaper because it is slightly further away from the ski resort. However it is not an issue as there are several free shuttle services to and fro the ski resort, as well as good public bus connections. Cab fares are also affordable. The hotel gym was very good for a hotel gym, which a rack and barbell. The room was neat, and comfortable too!"

"We stayed as a family of 5, the room was with 2 bedrooms and 1 living room, kitchen and bathroom. Very spacious and convenient option. Every day the room was cleaned once we are out in the morning. Supplies and amenities were replaced or added. Reception girls were very helpful. The owner is a kind lady. The window view is charming, mountains view in a day time, city lights at night. Downstairs are a few shops and a cafe with delicious baozi&jiaozi. I would definitely return to this place again 👍🏻"

When he learned I was a visitor from out of town, he thoughtfully offered me a floral and fruit tea and patiently explained the hotel facilities. He even went above and beyond by sharing accurate and practical information about Urumqi's local specialty foods, attractions, and travel tips. Whenever I had questions during my stay, he responded promptly and patiently, resolving issues efficiently. His service was meticulous and considerate. From check-in to check-out, he maintained a professional yet approachable demeanor, which made me feel truly welcome and well-cared for."
