"NASPA New Otani Perfect family stay with spacious rooms and great snow park for kids! ”We had a wonderful stay at NASPA New Otani. The hotel's location is very convenient, not far from the train station, and the free shuttle bus service is available throughout the day, which made our travels so easy. We stayed in a Japanese Style Room, and it was incredibly spacious at 50 square meters. It was perfect for our family of three (parents and our 3-year-old child). There was plenty of room for our little one to run around and play comfortably without feeling cramped. The private snow park at the hotel is fantastic, especially for young children. Our child had so much fun playing in the snow, and it felt very safe and family-friendly. We are truly impressed with the hospitality and the facilities. We are already planning to come back and stay here again next year! Highly recommended for families.”"

"This is a hotel I'd definitely stay at again. It's super close to Yuzawa Station, just a 3-minute walk away. All the good restaurants in town are basically right around here. The room was really comfortable, and they even provided freshly ground coffee and a great selection of tea sets so you could brew your own. The hot spring was fantastic; the public bath was already so relaxing, and the private baths were even better – free and no reservation needed! Breakfast was also delicious, though the portions were a bit small. And there's free late-night ramen available, which tasted amazing."

"Great location, I stayed at the Arai section, next to the Onsen, convenient. The hotel has a buffet breakfast and 5 restaurants to choose from. If you get the package deal then all of the breakfast and dinners are covered. The mountain is serviced but a single main gondola with quad chairs that take you in different directions. Casts amount of off piste areas but the piste is a little less. Stayed for 4 night, great little starting point before heading over to Myoko."

"The overall service was incredibly thoughtful, and the staff were friendly and polite. From the pick-up service at the station to the evening welcome, everything was perfectly executed, and simple English communication was no problem. As for the accommodation, the room was in a traditional Japanese style, spacious and clean, with a great view outside the window. Although the building itself is a bit old, it's very well-maintained. The onsen (hot spring bath) was a highlight – the water, straight from the source, felt silky smooth, and the open-air bath offered expansive views, making for a truly relaxing soak. Overall, it's a charming and hospitable onsen ryokan where you can truly unwind."

"This hotel is very popular with families, especially Japanese guests bringing their children to enjoy the snow during winter. There were quite a lot of kids staying at the hotel, so the atmosphere was lively and family-oriented. The property itself is very large. However, in my opinion, the common lounge areas felt a bit limited compared to the overall size of the hotel. The dinner buffet was excellent — almost everything was delicious. There was a wide variety of international dishes, offering something for everyone. If you visit during winter and are assigned a room on the lowest floor, your view may be blocked by a wall of snow, so that’s something to keep in mind. Also, the rooms looked bigger in the photos than they felt in reality. Overall, though, it was still a good stay."

"One of the loveliest ryokans we've ever stayed at in Japan, wish we stayed for longer. Every part of the hotel is so beautiful and serves as a lovely photo backdrop. Service is top notch, everyone is so helpful and friendly. Extremely easy to communicate with them as the staff can speak English well. They gave us a map and told us where we could go for food or to the ski resorts and gave a lot of local advice. They provide all the amenities you need. They even have rain boots that you can borrow and wear in case your shoes are not waterproof. It snowed heavily while we were there and the staff are super attentive - they asked where we were headed to and suggested for comfort, that we wear the hotel's rain boots as they knew my partner's shoe wasn't waterproof/suitable to walk through the snow. Rooms are very clean, big and comfortable (only that the futons are a little thin). The onsens are rather small, but the outdoor onsen is so beautiful. They provide a shuttle service to the train station (upon request) , although it is a relatively short walk - 5mins - and easy to walk if there is no snow. 7 eleven right next to the train station and New Days inside the train station. We loved every single thing about this charming lovely hotel and we will definitely be back if we are in Echigo Yuzawa."

Location: Super convenient! It's connected directly to the station building, so you can walk through a passage from the station straight to the hotel elevator without even stepping outside. The only minor inconvenience is a set of stairs you have to go down before you reach the glass doors to the hotel elevators. Facilities: The room was a bit small; I couldn't really spread out my luggage. Other than that, all the basic conditions were met. For the price, I can't really complain. Oh, and the corridor outside the elevators is really beautiful and green.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your exceptional kindness and support. Yesterday, we were unfortunately involved in a car accident. The hotel was very understanding and kindly allowed us to reschedule our stay to another day. We were deeply touched by your flexibility and consideration. Today, we experienced another accident in the mountains. During this difficult time, one the staff was incredibly kind and supportive. She helped us communicate and translate with the police, ensuring that we could clearly explain the situation and receive assistance. Her help was truly invaluable in getting us safely rescued. In addition, the hotel manager and staffs generously drove us from the police station back to the hotel and assisted us with the necessary follow-up arrangements. Their patience, compassion, and willingness to go above and beyond their duties meant so much to us. We are truly grateful for the care and support we received. It has been a blessing to be guests at Oosado Hotel, and we will always remember your kindness.

The check-in experience was incredibly touching; all the staff were waiting and greeted us warmly. Although it's an older building, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The welcome snacks were delicious, and the evening Kaiseki dinner was elegantly served. The breakfast was also excellent, leaving us completely satisfied. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, rejuvenating with the morning and evening hot springs. While the location was a bit disappointing, everything else was so good that I would definitely consider staying here again.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a few hundred meters from the JR station, making it very convenient to walk to. The surrounding area has all the necessary amenities. Although the hotel room isn't large, it's well-designed and compact, fully equipped, and even has a public bath. The breakfast is abundant, offering both Japanese and Western options. The staff are professional and very friendly. Definitely a five-star rating!

Booked a room in Building 2 for three nights, and got an upgrade to the club floor. The room wasn't huge, but it had four beds, enough for two adults and two children, and the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet. The cable car is right downstairs, making skiing super convenient. There are tons of restaurants; we tried pizza, BBQ, ramen, and an izakaya, among others. The prices were reasonable, and everything tasted great. We'll definitely be back, highly recommend it!

One of the loveliest ryokans we've ever stayed at in Japan, wish we stayed for longer. Every part of the hotel is so beautiful and serves as a lovely photo backdrop. There is a lounge with coffee/tea in the mornings and alcohol and snacks in the evening. There is also a playroom (suitable for infants to 6years old). Service is top notch, everyone is so helpful and friendly. Extremely easy to communicate with them as the staff can speak English well. They gave us a map and told us where we could go for food or to the ski resorts and gave a lot of local advice. They provide all the amenities you need. They even have rain boots that you can borrow and wear in case your shoes are not waterproof. It snowed heavily while we were there and the staff are super attentive - they asked where we were headed to and suggested for comfort, that we wear the hotel's rain boots as they knew my partner's shoe wasn't waterproof/suitable to walk through the snow. Rooms are very clean, big and comfortable (only that the futons are a little thin). The onsens are rather small, but the outdoor onsen is so beautiful. They provide a shuttle service to the train station (upon request) , although it is a relatively short walk - 5mins - and easy to walk if there is no snow. 7 eleven right next to the train station and New Days inside the train station. We loved every single thing about this charming lovely hotel and we will definitely be back if we are in Echigo Yuzawa.

My wife and I have had a 3-night stay at this Toyoko Inn Joetsu Myok Eli Nishi Gucci Room #1306 from 13 to 16 October 2025. The Hotel is just a 1-minute walk away from the Joetsumyoko Station. Similar to other Toyoko Inns, the modest reception is on the First Floor and it has limited parking lots on besides the Hotel, and also a bigger open car park about a 2-minute walk away. So we are grateful and thankful that we were given a lot for just ¥300 per day for 3 days at the open car park very nearby. The Hotel staff are polite and helpful, and are not quite able to communicate in simple English. As the Hotel is located quite away from the city centre of this very small city, so there is no shopping centre nearby except a few eateries are near the Station and within comfortable walking distance. The hotel room is the standard typical type whereby it is small but very clean. The bed and pillows are comfortable for our liking, and the small bathroom - again the typical Japanese type - is clean and its has strong water pressure for a comfortable shower. Like all Toyoko Inns, the Hotel provides daily breakfast of simple home cook styles; varieties are limited, but it is very comforting that gives a nice start for the day. Also, it offers free coffee and tea via machines 24 hours daily. At SGD S$97 per night with breakfast, we find it value for money and we will choose to stay here if we travel to Joetsu or Myoko again.

This hotel is quite popular, and I managed to book it two months in advance at a great price, which included breakfast. I highly recommend the traditional Japanese tatami rooms – they're spacious, have fantastic views, and I even got lucky enough to capture a photo of the 'sun-kissed golden mountain'! Plus, the hotel offers a dedicated shuttle service to and from the station at set times, and their dinner was unexpectedly superb. We had a private room for our Japanese meal, which was both refined and delicious. There are over 10 types of hot springs (onsen) available, and they were clean and not crowded. All in all, I highly recommend this place.
