Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan is located in the south commercial center of Taiyuan, many of the city's best shopping centers are all within walking distance, also with easy access to the Shanxi International Expo Center and Shanxi Sports Center, 7 km to the South Railway Station and 12 km to Wusu International Airport.
"The hotel's location is good. Although it's a bit old, it still has all the hardware facilities expected of a five-star hotel. Let me focus on the most unpleasant service experience this time. We booked a family room, which included three breakfasts. Our child had an upset stomach the night before and was throwing up and had diarrhea all night. So, in the morning, only the two adults went to eat, thinking of getting a takeaway box for the child. This is where the unpleasant experience began. The person in black, who seemed to be a supervisor at the restaurant, said that if we had already started dining, takeaway boxes wouldn't be provided (at this point, we thought we only had two breakfasts included). Later, after checking the order, we confirmed that the family room included three breakfasts. We went back to the restaurant reception to ask for a takeaway box, clarifying upfront that our room included three breakfasts and that we wanted to pack something because our child was unwell. Even then, the front desk staff said that after 6:30 AM, it's recommended to dine in, and takeaway boxes are generally not provided. She also claimed it was busy and she couldn't authorize it (even though there were no guests waiting at the front desk at that time) and that only the supervisor could approve it. I had to wait for her to call the supervisor over again before I finally got a takeaway box. Throughout this entire process, both of them had cold faces and showed absolutely no service意识 (service awareness). This definitely deserves a negative review!!!"

"This place has its own dedicated parking, conveniently located right behind Xinzhou Ancient City, making it super easy to get around. Charging and fueling your car is a breeze. You can bring back anything you buy in the ancient city and enjoy it at your leisure in your room. The private hot spring in the courtyard was a great experience – perfect for soaking while munching on snacks and sipping tea. It even has a retractable roof with lights, so you can enjoy it at night too. The service was top-notch; they provided a pet gift package and a welcome gift, which our dog loved! The staff were incredibly responsive, charming, and generous. We'll definitely be back!"

"When I visited Mount Wutai, I was torn between booking the Marriott or a guesthouse. My main concern was the Marriott's distance from the scenic area and potential inconvenience. However, I ultimately chose the Marriott for its reputation for excellent service. After checking in, all my worries disappeared! Every morning, there are three scheduled shuttle buses that go directly to the central scenic area. If you miss one, it's no problem at all; the hotel's electric car will take you to the Route 8 bus stop anytime. When you return, just call the hotel from the designated stop and they'll pick you up immediately. It was incredibly convenient and I was very satisfied. The food at the hotel restaurant was also delicious. All in all, it exceeded my expectations!"

"Excellent! It's very close to the museum, and just a few minutes' walk across the street to Ximen. The hotel facilities are good, and the service is great. The best part was that they helped me wash a whole bunch of clothes that got wet from playing in the water while traveling, otherwise they would have smelled by the time I got home. Suggestion: Since there's a bathtub, it would be even better if they provided bath salts."

The front desk even thoughtfully prepared small drinks, cooling patches, and alcohol wipes. What really stood out was the thoughtful shuttle service to and from the venue, specially arranged for fans who traveled from out of town for the concert over these three days – absolutely amazing! I heard this was their first time trying it, but it was truly fantastic. "During our road trip, we randomly booked a hotel near the Yongle Palace. As soon as we turned the corner on the way to the hotel, we were greeted by a breathtaking view of the Yellow River, a picturesque scene. We were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is nestled mid-mountain, facing the water and backed by mountains. It feels secluded and private. There's private parking, the front desk is attentive and comfortable, the housekeepers provide attentive service, and luggage is delivered to your room by electric cart. The rooms are fully equipped, clean, and the bedding is comfortable. Our single-family cottage has its own private pool, which the kids loved. We had dinner à la carte at the hotel, and I loved the large Yellow River carp dish. The kids, who usually don't like fish, were eager to try it. The water view in front of the reception hall in the evening was particularly beautiful, especially during the blues, making it a great photo opportunity. The breakfast was perfectly balanced and well-presented. Upon departure, the housekeeper politely said goodbye and thoughtfully provided some local snacks for the journey. Due to time constraints, we only stayed for one night, so there were many things we didn't experience, such as the children's activity center and swimming pool. It's a perfect place for a family vacation. I like this hotel very much. Next time I come here on vacation, I will book a room with a river view and bring my kids to have a good time for a few days."

This time to go to Datongtian is really good, book a balcony on the third floor to bask in the sun, and the pot of tea is really comfortable. This store is the southeast corner, and it is very close to the upper south city wall, which is very convenient. I prefer fitness. They have a swimming pool downstairs that is very clean and the gym is fully equipped. I didn't imagine the space is so large. I arrived in the afternoon on the first day. The afternoon tea was very delicious. The fruit plate was fresh that day. They were very good at the details. There is no problem with the quality of the facilities from the water to the care provided in the room. The breakfast in the store is also very good, the ingredients used are also fresh, you can directly ask the cook for a bowl of hot knife noodles, fried eggs, lamb soup. Their breakfast buffet has a combination of Chinese and Western, as well as delicious bread sausage desserts and so on. Before leaving, I asked the staff how cold they could be in winter, because we planned to have a second brush in winter. The staff said that there was floor heating in the room, and it felt great. I would definitely book their home again!"

The hotel's interior facilities and amenities are very tasteful, including the toiletries and complimentary fruit. Cons: (Service rated 3 stars, with 2 stars specifically for dining) 1. The dining management on the hotel's 2nd floor needs significant improvement. We ordered five dishes for dinner; we finished the first two, but the rest were nowhere to be found. Three tables next to us, who arrived 5-10 minutes after us, had already finished their meals and some had even left. After we repeatedly urged them, our remaining dishes finally arrived, including dishes like knife-cut noodles. Others who arrived later had finished theirs before we even got ours. I have photos to prove this. Honestly, this aspect completely falls short of the hotel's overall standard."

On my trip to Datong, I booked a stay at the Howard Johnson Jindi Plaza Datong, located right by the ancient city, through Trip.com. It's rated 5 stars online, and it truly lives up to the hype! As soon as I checked in, I was upgraded for free to a deluxe business suite. It was my first time seeing a suite with a dining table big enough to host over 10 friends and family. After one night, I switched back to my originally booked business king room. The king room was also incredibly comfortable, measuring a spacious 62 square meters. Opening the curtains revealed views of Datong's streets. If you walk to the end of the corridor, you can even see a panoramic view of the ancient city of Datong. What truly stands out is the fantastic Chinese restaurant at this 5-star hotel. I stayed in Datong for three days, and除了one lunch I had in Hunyuan Ancient City, all my other five lunches and dinners were enjoyed at the hotel's Chinese restaurant. Here, a bowl of Shanxi's specialty knife-cut noodles is only 6 RMB, and a bowl of cold noodles, even tastier than those in Hunyuan, is just 3 RMB. You can order half portions of shumai, and during the first dog days of summer, they even had dumplings. I tried the braised deer tendon with scallions, something I'd never had before, and it was superb, as were the husband and wife lung slices and jellyfish salad – perfect with drinks. Dining here is delicious and affordable. If you top up 200 RMB, you even get a complimentary plate of Shanxi's signature 'guoyourou' (fried pork in sauce). A huge shout-out also goes to the restaurant staff. They are warm, thoughtful, and genuinely care for guests, even advising against ordering too much, ensuring just the right amount! In summary, I give a 5-star rating to both the hotel and the F&B department. The last photo is of the hotel's breakfast, which was also excellent. The hotel has two breakfast restaurants, so even with many guests, it never feels crowded!

1. The hotel boasts luxurious decor, particularly the four teal-colored pillars in the lobby paired with an icicle-shaped chandelier, which create a unique and charming ambiance. The rooms are well-appointed with solid materials, including many teal stone accents, and are well-maintained. 2. Upon check-in, the front desk offered us a choice of rooms. Although she warned that rooms near the elevator might be noisy, we didn't think much of it, assuming it was just guests coming and going. However, the real issue arrived. Before 5 AM on Sunday morning, a wedding photography team of over a dozen people showed up in the stairwell, complete with a wind machine and other equipment, to take pictures of the bride. They made a ruckus for over an hour. The most outrageous part was them smoking in the elevator area – isn't this supposed to be a non-smoking floor?! A word of caution for weekend guests: avoid rooms facing the elevator lobby, as you might get woken up. 3. As for breakfast, it's incredibly substantial here. They have freshly grilled fish and steak made on the spot early in the morning, along with beef and potatoes, braised pork, and large shrimp. Of course, standard hotel breakfast items like bacon and sausage are also available. The downside is that it gets crowded; even between 7 AM and 8 AM, about 70-80% of the tables are occupied.

I found this hot spring hotel online, and after seeing the good reviews, I decided to book a stay to try it out. The online reviews were absolutely right – the environment is beautiful, the facilities are excellent, and the rooms are comfortable, spacious, and spotlessly clean. The natural volcanic hot springs and pools have crystal-clear water, offering an incredible experience that instantly brought me immense satisfaction. Furthermore, the front desk service was incredibly welcoming; check-in was smooth and fast, and they patiently and meticulously answered all my questions. With such a comfortable environment and excellent service, I didn't hesitate to extend my stay.

The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to transportation and plenty of dining and shopping options nearby. The room was spacious, bright, comfortable, cozy, and clean, seemingly recently renovated. However, I was assigned to a room on the fifth floor next to a swimming pool with a very unpleasant chlorine smell, although the room itself didn't smell. The breakfast was quite varied and plentiful. Check-in at the front desk was a bit cumbersome; a row of busy staff members ignored me for two minutes, which felt rather unfriendly.

My stay at Wutong Apartments was wonderful! The room was clean, spacious, modern, and aesthetically pleasing. There is bathtub is luxurious and spacious, the shower has great pressure and the the separate toilet room has a motion censored toilet seat and a bidet. The bed was comfy and the closet space begs you to unpack your suitcase. There were thoughtful amenities, including a loofah cloth and shoe shine cloths. Now...the breakfast. It was the best breakfast buffet I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Tinder and well seasoned steak, salmon, soups, desserts, breads, scrumptious pancakes and a salad bar that even included kale amongst the varied greens. Best of all, the service was exceptional. A special thank you to Li Ne, the dining staff and the housekeeper who attended to my room. I wish that every hotel stay I experience in the future is as amazing as my time at Wutong Apartment Hotel.

This hotel truly lives up to its Intercity brand. The service was excellent from the start; they upgraded me to a better room upon arrival. Later, because the room smelled of smoke (seriously, some guests have no respect – how can you smoke in a non-smoking room?), they upgraded me again, this time to an executive suite. The room was clean, and the bedding was comfortable and odorless. All the amenities were thoughtfully provided and just right. The minibar even had craft beer and some soft drinks, and they were very generous with bottled water. The front desk staff, particularly Xiao Tian, was very professional and friendly. They also gave me a complimentary breakfast, which was incredibly rich and fresh! You could find something for every taste. Highly recommended. The overall location is also convenient; a taxi to the ancient city is only about seven or eight yuan. Datong is indeed a very convenient city.

Traveling with my family to Taiyuan, I chose to stay at the Taiyuan Marriott Hotel, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations – we were extremely satisfied. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were gentle and polite. We encountered a minor issue during our stay, but the hotel responded very quickly and resolved the problem efficiently and appropriately. Their attitude towards problem-solving and their professionalism were truly impressive! The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was comfortable, allowing my mother to rest very well. The facilities were well-maintained, and the overall environment was quiet and elegant. The location is convenient for getting around, making it easy to visit attractions like Jinci Temple, the Provincial Museum, and Zhonglou Street. The hotel's breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, including a full spread of local Shanxi specialties, as well as both northern and southern Chinese flavors. There were Chinese congees and dim sum, Western pastries, fresh fruits, and hot and cold beverages – truly everything you could imagine. There were light and soft grain porridges and steamed items suitable for elders, as well as desserts and drinks that kids would love. The live noodle station allowed us to customize toppings and seasonings as we liked, and the flavors were authentic. We enjoyed a satisfying breakfast every day. Beyond its excellent facilities, the Marriott also boasts a service team that takes initiative and genuinely cares for its guests, which is even more commendable. This made our entire trip feel complete!
