"The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, offering fresh air and a decent swimming pool. You can explore the immediate vicinity around the hotel, and the guest rooms are spacious. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus, but the timings and routes weren't convenient for me. I ended up taking taxis to get around, luckily Uber was available. There's only one restaurant, and I tried both breakfast and dinner, neither of which I'd recommend. The view from my room wasn't great; the hotel's main entrance on the left blocked a significant portion of the view, which felt a bit depressing during my week-long stay. Overall, the experience was alright."

"We stayed in a family room at the Jeju Shinhwa World Hotel for our family trip to Jeju with our child, and the experience exceeded our expectations. It was incredibly convenient for traveling with kids! The family room was spacious, bright, clean, and tidy, with comfortable bedding. There was plenty of room for two adults and one child. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the facilities were complete, making for a very comfortable stay. The package included tickets to Shinhwa Theme Park, which was a great deal as we didn't have to buy them separately. We also had unlimited access to the water park, which was just a short walk from the hotel, making it easy to go back to the hotel to rest without having to travel far. The resort facilities were comprehensive, with restaurants and convenience stores readily available, making dining and shopping convenient. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our child had an amazing time at the theme park, and when they were tired, we could just head back to the room to rest. It was an all-in-one resort experience that truly maximized our enjoyment. I highly recommend this hotel for family trips; it offers great value for money. We will definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Jeju!"

"Make sure to book a sea-view room; the ocean view is absolutely stunning! 👍 The hotel also provided two coffee vouchers, and the coffee was delicious. However, some facilities and experiences were a bit inconsistent. For one, the pool and sauna were quite crowded, which wasn't the best experience. The breakfast spread was generous, but Koreans are very punctual about time – you just have to understand that. They start clearing plates even before the official closing time, which is different from our understanding of 'closing time' (where you just can't get more food; for them, it means the door is literally closing). Another issue was that the TV in the room suddenly turned on twice in the middle of the night! We called the front desk and even had an electrical technician come, but they couldn't find the cause, so we just had to let it go... (This only happened on one day)."

"Stayed at Sun & Moon Resort was pleasantly surprised. The ocean view from the room was simply stunning, especially in the morning. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, while the peaceful surroundings made it a perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was delivered to the room daily, adding a nice personal touch. Location is slightly remote, so having a car helps, but the tranquility and scenery more than make up for it. Excellent value for money and a great choice for travellers seeking a quiet seaside retreat in Jeju."

"The location and surroundings are excellent. Getting to the nearby Yanyuli is super convenient by Uber or Coco Talk, taking only about 15 minutes one way. The hotel's breakfast view is stunning, as it's a sea-view breakfast restaurant. As for the food, I personally think it's quite good. You can even DIY Korean bibimbap in the morning, though the variety isn't super extensive."

"The best thing about this hotel is its location and the views. You can see Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak) and Udo Island Ferry Terminal right from the hotel, and it's just a few minutes' walk away. In the early mornings and evenings, you can avoid the crowds and freely take photos at popular spots. You can even watch the sunrise from your balcony. It's also located right on the most beautiful section of Olle Trail Route 1. The hotel's cafe is absolutely gorgeous, and every single bread and drink item is delicious. We had breakfast there every day. For dining out, there are plenty of local barbecue and hairtail restaurants nearby, as well as convenient supermarkets for shopping, and even small pubs. There's a swimming pool in front of the cafe, which many people use. Our room had three floors. The first floor had a living room, dining area, a garden, and a private pool. Swimming and sunbathing facing the sea was incredibly relaxing. The second floor had a master bedroom with a large bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a sofa. The third floor was a large open space with two queen-sized beds combined, which could sleep four people, and a terrace. All floors faced the sea with beautiful views. We asked for two extra duvets, which were provided free of charge. On the downside, the front desk is in a small, cramped shed next to the parking lot. The service is often unattended, but staff are usually nearby and will come if you call out. When I asked for help bringing my many bags and my child to the room, the staff member flat out refused, saying ”no, no, no” and just stood in the parking lot watching me struggle. It felt quite cold and unhelpful."

"The location is excellent, very close to the airport. The noise from planes taking off and landing wasn't too bothersome, and Jeju Airport has a noise curfew at night anyway. However, the hot water in my room was super inconsistent and hard to control – it kept going hot and cold. I didn't bother reporting it to the front desk though... I just kept adjusting it myself."

Fantastic stay! We arrived late on the first night and had a minor issue, but they helped us change rooms right away. The rest of our stay was incredibly comfortable. The hotel's location is also excellent – very convenient for transport, super close to the airport, and there's even a hospital nearby. You can pay the deposit with WeChat too!

The hotel's soundproofing is extremely poor. On the first night, it felt very hot after 11 PM, and the air conditioning stayed at 24 degrees Celsius for over two hours (even though it was set to 18 degrees). There was also a constant thumping sound, similar to walking, from upstairs. After calling the front desk to report the issue, the noise did not stop. Later, after discussing with Trip.com customer service, we decided to change rooms. A front desk staff member came to help move our luggage to the new room. When we first arrived at the new room, the noise indeed disappeared, but it wasn't long before the thumping sound returned and continued non-stop until around 2:30 AM, severely affecting our rest. For light sleepers, it would be absolutely maddening. On the second day, we realized the noise was coming from all directions. Both the ceiling and wall soundproofing were quite poor, with frequent strange noises. Overall, our stay significantly impacted our rest. I called hotel room service to request two buckwheat pillows or firmer pillows, but the ones brought were the same as the original pillows in the room. English communication was not very smooth. The room facilities are a bit old. The only advantage is the hotel's good location, which is very convenient for guests traveling by car as there is free parking. You just need to provide your license plate information to the front desk during check-in.

The public areas are really beautiful and comfortable; as soon as you step into the hotel, you feel like you're on vacation. The sea view is stunning on a clear day. The front desk staff can communicate in English. Our room wasn't ready at the 3 PM check-in time, but the hotel offered an alternative to switch to a non-sea view suite. We opted to wait for the sea-view room we booked, showing a proactive approach to problem-solving. Our luggage was delivered directly to the room, and we didn't encounter any unpleasant attitudes during our stay. Our room was in the East Tower, which I believe is the older building. I was initially worried it might be too dated after reading some reviews, but it was actually fine! The room was indeed very small, but clean and odor-free, with a complimentary minibar. The balcony was quite large, and the sea view was satisfying. The room door had average soundproofing, but the balcony door was well-insulated, making the room generally quiet. Highly recommended!

I brought my parents to Jeju Island, and this guesthouse was absolutely perfect. The room itself had a fantastic view, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking directly out at the ocean. Sitting on the sofa by the window and watching the white waves crash against the rocks was truly relaxing. There's a boardwalk downstairs, and my parents went for a morning run there every day. The room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, all in good working order. Compared to staying downtown, there are many local restaurants nearby, so you don't need to go to tourist-oriented places, and there are breakfast spots too. Ordering food can be a bit challenging, but once we figured out how to search for pictures on Naver Maps beforehand and just point to order, everything went smoothly. Getting around was also very convenient. If you want to make sure you have a seat, you can take a taxi to the airport and then go to various famous attractions from there. Regarding the check-in time issue mentioned in some reviews, as long as you confirm the time, and if you're running a little late and communicate with the owner, they will wait for you. The check-in time and cancellation policy are clearly stated when you make a reservation, so I don't think there are any unfair terms. Overall, I feel that staying here gives you more of a relaxed vacation and a taste of local life, rather than just a typical tourist experience.

The location and views are hands down the best in downtown Jeju. Within a 5-minute walk, you have Lotte Duty Free, a CU convenience store, E-Mart, and Olive Young. Shilla Duty Free and Nuwemaru Street (Baojian Road) are just a 10-minute walk away. The hotel itself has a shopping mall, a jjimjilbang (Korean sauna), an arcade, and more—having dining, shopping, and entertainment all under one roof made everything so effortless. The room was genuinely spacious, and the floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides offered sweeping panoramic views of Jeju City. Just a heads-up: toothbrushes come with an extra charge, though bottled water was generously provided. As for service, it really lived up to other reviews regarding the oddly aloof attitude. That said, all the concierges we met were warm, polite, and took the initiative to help with our luggage. Front desk check-in seems to be hit-or-miss, but we got lucky! The young lady who checked us in was sweet and lovely; she gave us a complimentary upgrade to a high-floor ocean view room, plus complimentary chocolates and madeleines from the hotel boutique, which was such a wonderful surprise! The gentleman who handled our check-out was also very warm—especially standing out as gentle and charming compared to the other staff around him who were just slacking off looking at their screens. So, when checking in at the front desk, definitely try to pick a counter based on who looks friendliest—it makes a huge difference to your overall experience.

This is a review of the accommodation where I stayed for 5 nights and 6 days with my 1-year-old baby. - The location is in Namwon-eup, Seogwipo-si. If you're planning to visit Jungmun in Seogwipo, it's not too far, but there are no delivery services (Baemin) around. You can drive 20 minutes to a Hanaro Mart in Seogwipo. - However, there's a convenience store (7-Eleven) at the reception, so it wasn't too inconvenient. - We visited Jeju Island during a hot spell, so it was warm. Despite being a resort surrounded by forests on an island where it often rains, I didn't get a single mosquito bite. - The outdoor pool is located next to the reception, which was quite a distance from our room, so we had to drive there. For those traveling with children, getting to the pool might be a bit inconvenient. - However, the indoor heated pool (toddler pool) was fantastic. I didn't get a chance to use the outdoor pool. - Many of the staff (excluding the reception) seemed to be foreigners, but their kindness makes me want to visit again. - The cleanliness of the room was good. There were some gaps in the wooden decking of the resort or the floor, which looked like it needed to be tidied up. - Three moms and three babies visited, and having a bathroom in each room was incredibly convenient. - Since it was a separate space from the adjacent resort building, there was no noise. - The kitchenware was also clean and nice. - The parking space was very generous. - If I ever go to the Seogwipo area again, I'd definitely stay here.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the Shilla Hotel, a South Korean chaebol hotel. The hotel and its surroundings, the room's color scheme, and hygiene are all excellent. The restaurant's breakfast buffet is rich and varied, especially the fruit, which is fresh. It would be even better if the flavors were more diverse. Most of the reception staff are quite polite, especially the young lady who checked me in on the first day. She was very kind and understanding, and I'd like to express my gratitude to her. The room service attendant seemed particularly shy and honest. The room cleaning staff, who appeared to be from other Southeast Asian countries, were also quite diligent and polite. In contrast, the service at the pool and buffet restaurant reception was a bit colder. Overall, for the same price, domestic hotels don't offer this level of refinement and experience, so I would still highly recommend it.

The hotel has a good location. The rooms are in a good condition. BUT! The service is not friendly or good at all. When we arrived in the morning we have asked if there was a chance to get in early. The front desk man said in the aggressive way that there is no such opportunity. He was making us to rush with our bags, making us feel as we disturbing him instead of be feeling welcomed. Then, after 6 hours we came back to check in and guess what. The room arranged for us, which was reserved with the ocean view, was given us wrongly, the tiny dark room in the end of hotel. I was not happy with this because I’ve booked the certain room with the view and paid for that. Then I came back to the reception and asked to change the room because it is not what I’ve booked. Then, with no any words like “we are sorry, let me help you” I was watching front desk workers faces being bothered by me again and showing me their attitude. The room was changed eventually, thank you “so much”. Better choose another hotel.

The overall service was good, and the rooms were marked with nationality, so Chinese-speaking assistance was available by phone. We could also request a child toilet seat. However, the overall facilities for families were a bit lacking compared to domestic parent-child hotels. There were no complimentary toothbrushes or toothpaste, so we had to bring our own or buy them from a vending machine. Only two bottles of mineral water were provided per day, and anything extra had to be purchased. Seogwipo City felt better for exploring than Jeju City, and both were about the same distance. Hyeopjae Beach is highly recommended. There was a sashimi place in the complex that was delicious, but Mom's fried chicken was just okay. For BHC fried chicken, the front desk could help order delivery, and it was a 15-minute walk away.

The facilities are clean and the location overlooking the sea has a wonderful view. The bed is quite comfortable and the room is spacious. Language barrier can be a bit tough and the bath towels could be upgraded and renewed. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a short stay.
