"What an amazing getaway! If you are more into nature and culture....THIS IS YOUR SPOT! It is tucked away inside Shuhe Old Town but you would never know. Once you get there, it is quiet. They are very proud to show you their gardens, their squirrels (they are well provided for), their cats, and what they truly enjoy. We were welcomed with drinks, fruit, and delicious buckwheat bread while we were introduced to the dining area and the movie and games area. Their menu is wonderful. Breakfast is provided and has a set menu of Asian versus Western (i had French toast one morning and pancakes the next) and then an extra section where you can also have yogurt with toppings, fruits, breads, coffee, etc. Other meals are ordered from the menu. The variety is wonderful and the taste and quality are worth it. After traveling throughout China for a few weeks, I really just wanted a burger. The Yak burger was amazing! WARNING: once you pick it up for the first bite, you must commit to it. There is no putting it down. My hands were just a joyous mix of meat juice, cheese dripping, pickle juice, egg dripping....luckily there is a restroom right there to wash up after. Our room was very cute, small, odd, but it worked for us and you could tell it would be cozy come the snow seasons-which we will return for. The odd part was the steps that lead down into the bathroom. I thought, oooo how fun! Not so much in the middle of the night if you are not used to it. But not all rooms have that so don't let that discourage you from enjoying this place. If you are finished walking Shuhe Old Town, there are more options. We decided to walk around the back of the garden. Following the trail, we wound up in a very beautiful park with water and bridges and places to sit. Eventually, we came out at one of the ends of Shuhe. Again, you would never have known because there was no interrupting noises to tell you otherwise. One of the days we took Didi to Baisha Old Town. Another must go! We spent a full day there and still did not finish. Even the rain didn't stop everyone from enjoying everything. Make sure you find the silk art school. It is tucked away but they have a wonderful program. I could do an entire blog on their contributions and empowerment for women but for now, just go enjoy and buy something, support them. Overall, we loved this place and will go back. We were not able to enjoy the mountain this time."

"During the off-season, the hotel was incredibly quiet, I barely saw anyone all day. The hotel is small but beautiful, with lovely greenery and aesthetically pleasing decor. While it's clear the hotel has been around for a while and some areas are showing their age, for the off-season price, it's still unbeatable value for money. Overall it was great, but there are a few areas that could be improved: 1. The public restrooms. It's excellent that they provide hand towels after washing your hands, but the lighting is dim, and the labels on the hand soap and lotion bottles next to the sink are very hard to read; you have to get very close to see them. 2. The pool. They could definitely provide towels by the pool. 3. The food. This was quite disappointing. Breakfast wasn't particularly outstanding (especially the dessert section), and the complimentary afternoon tea was truly awful. You could tell immediately it was frozen instant food that had just been taken out and not fully thawed – everything was soft and mushy on the outside but hard on the inside. Also, I don't think the hotel's fruit selection was good; it was all bland and tasteless, which I think is unacceptable. Despite these points, let me highlight the biggest positive: the service. The hotel's service rivals that of some luxury hotels. Staff always smiled and greeted guests, responded very quickly to requests, and the shuttle service was available on demand. There was also turn-down service, with rooms cleaned twice daily, morning and evening, and even guests' clothes neatly arranged. Another plus is that the hotel's back entrance is close to the botanical garden, which is perfect for those who want to visit at night or early in the morning to avoid crowds. It's also ideal for spending one day near the Wangtianshu Scenic Area and then just relaxing at the hotel for the rest of the time. I had a wonderful weekend here."

Traveling to Yunnan, a comfortable and clean hotel added a lot of warmth to my journey and allowed me to immerse myself in the charming local customs of Yunnan. This hotel boasts an elegant and tranquil environment. Its overall design cleverly blends the characteristics of Yunnan's ethnic minorities, with quaint wooden carvings, exquisite ethnic patterns, and simple yet elegant folk paintings adorning every corner. There's no excessive decoration; it's simple yet refined, with a rich local flavor at every step, creating a wonderful ambiance. The courtyard is dotted with lush greenery, and the gentle breeze makes it peaceful and serene, washing away the fatigue of travel. What's most striking is the hotel's extreme cleanliness and tidiness. The public areas are spotless, sparkling clean, with no clutter or dust in the corners. The guest rooms are bright and airy, with soft, fluffy bedding that's clean and odor-free. The wash area is dry and wet separated, the bathroom fixtures are neatly arranged and clean, and the floors and countertops are sparkling. Attention to detail is evident everywhere; every corner is meticulously maintained, creating a clean and comfortable environment that makes guests feel incredibly relaxed and at ease. Staying here, one can not only enjoy a quiet and comfortable living experience but also get a close-up feel for the unique charm of Yunnan's folk customs."

"1️⃣ At checkout, they asked if there was anything unsatisfactory, and I briefly mentioned a few things. But then the hidden agenda emerged: they asked me not to leave a bad review on Trip.com. Okay, fine, I won't. But surely I can still write about my honest experience, right? 2️⃣ From an attitudinal standpoint, their approach is fundamentally flawed. In the service industry, a breakdown in management directly impacts the guest experience. They neither want to improve nor accept genuine feedback – it's truly sad. They seem to want to shirk their responsibilities and standards through such tactics. Why does the hotel spend so much money employing these people? Is it just a 'clock-in, clock-out' mentality? If so, I understand, but then that's a problem with leadership and management. 3️⃣ Let's review everything from start to finish. At check-in, none of the complimentary benefits included in the Trip.com package – whether useful or not – were proactively explained to me on how to use them. Upon entering the room, the strap for the slippers was just lying scattered on the floor. The breakfast, for a hotel in this price range, was rarely this bad, especially for a hotel at this price point and location in a tier 3 or 4 city. Both the Western and Chinese selections were poor. And they used Yili for yogurt and milk? They should really go learn from the St. Regis in Shanghai. When I went for breakfast, even though it was peak hour, there was no one at the entrance to greet guests. Everyone seemed to be helping inside. I stood there for a while before I just walked in myself – a basic mistake that shouldn't happen. After being shown to a table, there was no routine inquiry about whether I'd like any soft drinks. 4️⃣ The large Grohe system in the pool's main shower room was completely broken beyond repair. The handle was off, and the overhead shower was completely clogged. There was no sign that they intended to fix it. Could it be that the pool's water system isn't connected to a water softener? 5️⃣ For over 2,000 RMB, there aren't many choices in Kunming. The hardware is currently impeccable, and the room design is good – taste is subjective, of course. But the public area design is truly outstanding, not inferior to the design style of the Rosewood Guangzhou. You can tell a lot of money was spent. However, that's all you're paying for – this design. The service is comparable to that of a budget chain hotel costing a few hundred RMB, and in some cases, even worse. There's no need to compare it to the neighboring Shangri-La either; their service is also a mess, with a feeling that all the new staff were put to work without proper training. But in terms of public areas, honestly, the Grand Hyatt is more grand than the Shangri-La."

"Our lake-view room was spacious and impeccably clean. The bedding was soft, and we slept soundly and peacefully through the night. On a clear day, the Erhai Lake view was absolutely stunning. Tracy helped us keep an eye on the room status beforehand and was very quick to respond to our requests. The location is very convenient; there's parking available if you're driving, making it easy to get in and out of Xiaguan urban area. After dinner, we enjoyed a pleasant walk to Xingsheng Bridge!"

"The environment - The view from the lakeside room truly is stunning. If you're lucky enough to visit on a clear day, you can enjoy panoramic views of Fuxian Lake right from your room. Facilities - The room facilities are comprehensive. On the first day, the showerhead made a strange noise, but it was fixed quite promptly. The 24-hour gym, accessible with your room card, is a thoughtful touch. The indoor kids' play area is a bit small and not really suitable for a 6-year-old, so my child barely played there. Hygiene - No complaints, definitely up to standard. Dining - My only minor gripe is with the buffet dinner. For two nights, not a single dish changed, and there was no Chinese food section. There was also no salad at dinner, which was quite odd. However, the desserts were very abundant, and some of the dishes tasted pretty good. Overall, I would still recommend staying here when visiting Fuxian Lake."

This is the kind of hotel I'd want to stay at for two nights. As someone with germophobia, I was very satisfied with the cleanliness and hygiene of the room. The quiet environment and surrounding forest views were incredibly therapeutic; I could take deep breaths and enjoy a true forest bath. Plus, there are 16 different hot spring pools with various functions. Going for a soak both nights and being able to see the stars was truly delightful. Getting to the scenic area was also convenient with dedicated shuttle service. The breakfast was diverse and delicious, and there were even various classes offered daily, though unfortunately, I didn't have time to participate.
