Located right next to Odori Park, which is a long, narrow strip of land surrounded by hotels, this place is really easy to find. The room was quite spacious, and the hotel felt very new. In the lobby, you can help yourself to coffee, hot water, and toiletries. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. I'd definitely stay here again next time!

You can find this hostel by typing ”theatel” into Google Maps, and the navigation is pretty accurate. It's located on the third floor of a building with two entrances. One entrance has ”F-45” written on it, and there's a floor directory next to it (with the hostel's name listed on the 3rd-floor section). The other entrance has a huge 'egg' shaped sculpture in front of it. Near this egg sculpture, you can see the famous landmark beer billboard (featuring an old foreign man's face). You can also see the hostel's name when you enter the building from behind the egg sculpture. Take the elevator to the third floor, and after exiting, turn right to find the front desk. Sometimes the front desk is unattended, but there's a tablet nearby with a QR code. Just scan it with your phone's camera to self-check-in (you'll need to enter a four-digit reservation code). The female-only section has a code-locked door (I received the code on my phone during self-check-in, and also in the email I provided when I made the reservation). After entering the code, there are two more doors: one leads to the accommodation area (my capsule bed was very clean and soft, came with two hangers, a bath towel, a blackout curtain at the entrance, a power outlet by the headboard, an overhead storage cabinet, a box of tissues, and a pair of indoor slippers at the foot of the bed). The other door leads to the washroom area (which I thought was cleverly designed). The innermost part has several shower stalls + changing areas, all equipped with shower gel and shampoo. Outside of that, there are a few coin-operated washing machines, and further out, two rows of sinks. There are stools under the sinks, and hand towels and hairdryers on top. Next to the sinks, in a separate area, are several toilets. The entire washroom area was very clean, and I actually found the toilet paper quality to be quite good. Perhaps influenced by the widely held belief about 'quiet Japanese society,' the entire hostel was very quiet. I booked and paid in advance through an online platform, so I didn't have to pay anything extra from check-in to check-out. On the wall above the foot of my capsule bed, there was a 'check-in guide' (with the Wi-Fi name and password, and a check-out QR code). You need to check out before 10 AM by scanning the code and confirming. I was very satisfied with my stay.

The Good: - right on top of the underground links to many shopping areas. - walking distance to subway. - many restaurants nearby. Service staffs are friendly & helpful. The Bad: - room a bit small but expected. - bathroom & toilet have a high steps up. Very dangerous for elderly coming out of the bathroom as the step down is quite big.

Facilities: The hotel is quite new. I was given a room on the 14th floor, the highest floor. The wood-toned decor is very cozy. What I liked most were the small sofa and the large table, which were super convenient for placing items and eating. The bed was also very comfortable, more than enough for one person. Cleanliness: The room was cleaned daily and very thoroughly, which I was quite happy with. The toiletries were DHC brand, and there was a disposable toothbrush, tea bags, and coffee. However, there didn't seem to be bottled water, although the hotel mentioned the tap water is drinkable. Environment: The hotel is located north of Sapporo Station's East Exit, which is relatively quiet. There's a 7-Eleven right near the hotel downstairs and a Lawson across the street, making it very convenient for breakfast and other necessities. You can walk directly to Hokkaido University from the north side. Since I was traveling to Otaru and Asahikawa and came to Sapporo on the Hokuto train from Hakodate, staying near Sapporo Station felt more convenient for getting around than the Susukino area. Service: The hotel staff provided excellent service; the front desk always greeted guests when entering and exiting. The price for this booking was also very reasonable, offering good value for money. I would definitely stay here again during the snowy season.

The location is fantastic! The building really stands out, and there are tons of restaurants and shops nearby, plus it's super convenient for transport. However, the room itself was a big disappointment. First, the window offered absolutely no view and couldn't even be opened – it felt like I'd booked a windowless room. Second, there were several hairs on the toilet seat, actually stuck in the middle. I was so exhausted after a long day of travel that I didn't even think to take pictures as evidence.

Our stay at FAV LUX Sapporo was very comfortable and memorable. The room was clean, spacious, and beautifully designed, with the private sauna inside the room as the highlight of our stay. The hotel also has a great public onsen, perfect for relaxing after a full day of exploring Sapporo. Its location is in the quieter area of Susukino, which made the stay more peaceful, but it is still very accessible to restaurants, shops, and nearby attractions, within walking disrance. Overall, it’s a great choice for travelers looking for comfort, privacy, and a relaxing stay in Sapporo.

The hotel's location is great, right outside JR Susukino Station. It's next to the Risokoji shopping street, and there are many small shops along the underground JR street too. You'll have no trouble finding food, and there's a supermarket downstairs. The hotel lobby is on the second floor, and they provide free drink coupons – one for each day you stay, based on the number of guests. I booked a Deluxe King Panorama room, which had a good view. The water pressure in the shower was excellent and very comfortable. The air conditioning was super warm in winter.

Marvellous location!!! Hotel opened in December 2023. Nice, clean and decent-sized room. Hotel lobby has a small tea pantry with coffee machine, amenities shelf, drinks vending machine and a laundry area. Limited free snack every afternoon. Lift only accessible with your card key. Super impressed with the accessible and fantastic location. - take the airport bus and drop at Minami 3-jo Susukino. Hotel is just diagonally across the street (less than a minute walk) - when you exit from the hotel, make a u-turn to your right and you are less than a minute away from the connector of sectors 2 & 3 of Tanukikoji Shopping Street - Daiso is a 2-minute walk and Mega Don Quijote (opens 24h) is a 3-minute walk from the hotel - a mere 3-minute walk to Susukino Station or 5-minute walk to Odori Station - Family Mart and 7-Eleven are just across the street and Lawson is a 2-minute walk away - nestled right next to the intersection with a prominent and unique-looking facade, high visibility - an abundant array of dining options all around the hotel Switched to this hotel from my original choice 2 days before the trip. Couldn't have asked for more. No cap!

This was my first stay at Via Inn Prime Sapporo, and the location is definitely the highlight. Being right on Tanukikoji is so convenient, there are tons of restaurants and shops just steps away. The room was a bit small, but that’s typical for Japan. For a solo traveler, it was perfectly fine and, most importantly, very clean. The check-in lobby on the 2nd floor has a really comfortable atmosphere. I liked that you can pick up your own amenities like toothbrushes and coffee there. The staff were also very polite and spoke good English. I I had breakfast buffet at the 1st-floor restaurant for 1,980 yen. The food was fresh, tasty, and had a good variety. The only thing is that the coffee was a bit light for my taste, but everything else was great. The restaurant was tidy, and the staff were very polite and quick to refill the food. Overall, a very satisfying 5-day stay. I’ll definitely choose this hotel again when I’m back in Hokkaido!
