"This was the first hotel we stayed at after arriving in Xishuangbanna. The environment was very quiet and the greenery was beautiful. It's a pity we arrived late at night and had to leave the next morning; my family said we should have come earlier to visit the local markets, see the Buddhist temples, and go rafting. There were some small flying insects in the wooden villas, but in a tropical rainforest area near a river, I think it's quite normal and acceptable. If you can't accept this, I suggest not coming to Mengla; this place is all about returning to nature. So I don't quite understand people who give negative reviews about small flying insects; these insects fly in the air, they're not crawling on the bed. The hotel breakfast included local specialty rice noodles, which were delicious."

"The hotel's location right next to the botanical garden was super convenient for both evening and daytime visits with our child. Even though the facilities are a bit dated, the service and cleanliness were exceptional. Every staff member was so welcoming and enthusiastic. We had dinner at the hotel three times, and both the Chinese and Western dishes were delicious. The set menus were great value for money, and the 'Peacock Feast' was incredibly generous! The hotel also offered daily lantern-floating activities, and there were plenty of engaging activities for kids. On top of that, the complimentary travel photoshoot was fantastic! We got some amazing shots right on the hotel grounds. The makeup artist, photographer, and photo selector were all very professional, and the package price was reasonable, leaving us with wonderful memories from our trip. I have to especially commend the hotel's SPA! It was so incredibly relaxing, it felt like I was back in Thailand for a second! The therapists had expert techniques, and the products are supposedly made with ingredients imported from Thailand. I even bought some facial products after my session – a truly unforgettable experience! The riverside infinity pool is another highlight of the hotel, and our child absolutely loved it!"

"My stay here was absolutely fantastic! The room was spotless, and the bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, truly like sleeping on a cloud. The hotel staff were incredibly warm and attentive. Check-in was swift, and they even thoughtfully recommended some great local eateries. The location is also superb, making it very convenient for getting around. I'll definitely be choosing this place again! The ambiance was elegant, the room decor felt very cozy, and all the facilities were top-notch. The breakfast spread offered a wide variety to satisfy all tastes. Overall, it was excellent value for money."

"The hotel offers a pickup service, which was absolutely perfect! The owner herself picked us up and dropped us off. Upon arrival, a staff member helped with our luggage, which was a thoughtful touch. I was amazed when I entered the room; it was even better than the pictures! The room was spacious, clean, and tidy. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and the bathroom had a great wet/dry separation. This place was a pleasant surprise, offering excellent value for money. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Mengla for business or leisure. Wishing the owner a thriving business!"

"This hotel was amazing. It’s only a year old but the amenities look like it’s brand new and inside of the room seems no different from a five-star. The only thing missing was a bathroom scale. Nice courtyard pool below just big enough to do some short laps and a kilometer from the night market. Interesting little area and they have street side eatery outside with a good view. The best part though is the manager Mr. Wu was exceptionally helpful. When he saw me arriving by bicycle, he did everything he could to make my stay more pleasant and even offered to go the extra mile with extra service and help. An unbelievable bargain, and a nice end to my journey. "

"I initially went the wrong way, taking the long staircase from the restaurant. The receptionist came to meet me and even helped carry my suitcase up all those steps – I was very grateful! The room was very clean, and the view from the river is absolutely stunning if you book a room with that view. The hotel has a telescope, and my child was curious. The owner patiently set it up and adjusted it so my child could look at the moon. There are also paid astronomy education activities using more sophisticated instruments and professional instructors. Unfortunately, I didn't know I needed to book a day in advance, which was a bit of a disappointment. Maybe I'll come back in the summer! After checking in, we were notified at the last minute that a performance was planned, which was a wonderful surprise. Apparently, if there are many guests, they also arrange a bonfire party."

"The overall environment is well-preserved. The wooden cabins are simply furnished, and there are many wild flying insects. The service is excellent. It's about 4km from the Lao-Ta border. The border crossing is very basic, and there aren't many tourists. The owner said that many government and business visitors come here. There's a new rural construction demonstration site nearby, giving it a remote and impoverished feel, with not much to do. You need to make a reservation by phone before arrival, otherwise you won't even be able to find the door!"

"This was probably the biggest surprise of our Yunnan trip – we stumbled upon this village by accident. For city dwellers like us, it felt like a paradise. From an extremely impoverished village to one where everyone has an income, the villagers said it was Professor Li Xiaoyun's team (I'm not sure if that's the correct spelling) who helped the village generate tourism revenue. We booked a three-bedroom room for 1730 yuan a night. It was the second day of the ***** New Year, so that's understandable, but seeing in the reviews that it was a poverty alleviation project, we immediately placed the order. Since we were going to book a guesthouse anyway, it wouldn't hurt to do something good. Driving from the Wangtianshu Scenic Area, there's only one road into the village, and the winding roads scared me half to death! Definitely check in during the day! The one-way street makes passing difficult, especially since we were in a campervan. When we arrived, we were truly shocked. It was a village with only one small shop. To be honest, that might not be accurate; there were no restaurants, no milk tea shops, no convenience stores, no coffee shops – absolutely no commercial establishments. Honestly, I was a little shocked because I didn't expect such a pristine, authentic village. Each guest room was in a different family's home. The village has over 60 households and more than 200 people. You can pay the family you're staying at to have their meals prepared, using vegetables they grow themselves and pigs and chickens they raise themselves. I haven't written this review yet because I really wanted to sit down and write a proper review. If my initial impression of the village was surprise, astonishment, and a little regret, then afterwards it was pure joy, delight, and regret for arriving too late. In the evening, I watched the village girls dancing on the basketball court. The owner of the house I stayed at, Brother Deng, was born in 1984. My husband and father ate and drank with him, and he even took my father and husband to visit other villagers. Everyone in the village was simple, honest, and warm-hearted. Although I couldn't understand their dialect, I could feel everyone's kindness and welcome. Even though the rooms weren't very soundproof—after all, it's a wooden village, part of the Yao culture—it was very clean. You could tell they were putting effort into making this a good tourist destination. I hope Hebian Village continues to thrive. See you next time! If you're willing to put down your phone and experience nature, to escape the city and enjoy a day of simplicity, believe me, it's worth the trip, unforgettable, and truly a return to nature. This special trip perfectly embodies that feeling."

"Different accommodation experience during the trip Environment: It is about 200 meters away from the west gate of the botanical garden. It is very convenient to go to the botanical garden and participate in night insect watching activities. The small yard is very quiet and the layout is very chic, with five or six tents. There is also a puppet cat with a very close family, and a particularly enthusiastic black shell. Service: The boss is very nice, very cute, very thoughtful, and ran to buy us a local special breakfast early in the morning. Soy milk is the best I have ever drunk.
