"The Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is about 50 kilometers from Jinghong city. Its East and West sections are quite large, and a full day isn't enough to explore everything. I'd read stories about botanists from the Academy before, so I made the botanical garden a priority and decided to stay at a hotel within it. The room rate I booked online included entrance tickets, which made it a pretty good deal for two people. After our rental car arrived at the East Gate, I called the hotel front desk, and they allowed us to enter. On the afternoon of our arrival, we explored the larger East Section's rainforest, which offered a stunning view of various rainforest vegetation. The hotel's restaurant was quite good; the local dishes at dinner were authentic, and I even saw family gatherings of XTBG staff – quite a change from how their predecessors lived! The next morning, we hired a guide and toured the different areas of the West Section. All in all, choosing to stay at the botanical garden hotel made this trip incredibly rewarding. Facilities: The in-room facilities met our needs, and the small balcony offered views of the flora and fauna. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. Environment: The botanical garden environment is unique and relaxing. Service: The front desk and restaurant service were excellent, and the breakfast offered a good variety, including local specialty snacks."

"Facilities: Fully equipped with meeting rooms, gym, washer and dryer, swimming pool, and delicious breakfast. Cleanliness: Large, clean, and tidy rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views. Environment: The courtyard is beautiful, with lush green grass and flowers. Service: The hotel front desk staff are very helpful and welcoming, answering all questions promptly."

"The hotel is right next to the Nanla River, and the environment is lovely. It's both the starting and ending point for the Nanla River rafting. You can walk right out of the hotel to the Manlong Village market, and just a bit further, there's a huge dragon fruit field. The breakfast felt outsourced; not much variety and pretty standard. There aren't many dining options nearby. If you're coming for Wangtianshu Scenic Area and rafting, I'd recommend staying here. The cleanliness is acceptable, and the front desk staff are quite friendly and helpful!"

"This hotel was amazing. It’s only a year old but the amenities look like it’s brand new and inside of the room seems no different from a five-star. The only thing missing was a bathroom scale. Nice courtyard pool below just big enough to do some short laps and a kilometer from the night market. Interesting little area and they have street side eatery outside with a good view. The best part though is the manager Mr. Wu was exceptionally helpful. When he saw me arriving by bicycle, he did everything he could to make my stay more pleasant and even offered to go the extra mile with extra service and help. An unbelievable bargain, and a nice end to my journey. "

"Facilities: The hotel is very close to the Xiyuan Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. They can arrange an electric buggy to take you directly to the nearest entrance, which is quite convenient. The most noteworthy feature is the outdoor swimming pool – it's very spacious, with a depth of 1.2-1.5 meters, making it suitable for children. Plus, its riverside location is perfect for photos. Hygiene: Despite being set in a garden, the hygiene is well-maintained. We didn't encounter any mosquitoes or other insects, which was great. Environment: The environment is outstanding. The balcony directly overlooks the rainforest, though it can be a bit spooky at night. Service: Electric buggies are available for transport between the rooms and the lobby, and their response time is very prompt. First night minibar: The hotel seemed to anticipate that guests might return late from night tours, and children might be too exhausted to eat. The instant noodles provided in the room really came in handy – a thoughtful touch!"

"I accidentally saw on the Internet that there is a very beautiful post station at Mohan Port on the China-Laos border. This time I went to Laos and passed by Mohan. So I settled in this post station. Walk into the pure Dai thatched house with stilt structures at the post station. It has the original style of a Dai village. It is indeed rare to see. Only when I got here did I realize that the post station also has services that can help guests arrange travel to Laos."

You can eat something simple in the morning. Go to Wangtianshu or the Manlelong Market. The drive is about an hour. Go to Manlelong first. The market has Banna specialty snacks. Different from the more commercial night market snacks in Jinghong, this place is more local. I like it more. The front desk service is enthusiastic. I am afraid that we will not rest well and actively help us change rooms."
