"I was very satisfied with my stay here! The hotel's location is super convenient, right across from Kyoto Station, just a few minutes' walk away. It's incredibly easy to get to all the major attractions in Kyoto by JR, Shinkansen, subway, or bus, making it perfect for a Kyoto trip. Next to the hotel is AEON Mall, which is very convenient for shopping, dining, and buying souvenirs, and it has long operating hours, so you can easily browse and shop even after returning in the evening. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and courteous. Both check-in and check-out were smooth. For independent travelers, the transportation and amenities here are excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto, and I'll definitely consider staying here again on my next trip!"

"The hotel entrance isn't huge, but the 4th-floor reception area has a wonderful design with lots of greenery, bringing you closer to nature. It's a really comfortable spot to just sit and relax. The room itself is spacious and comfortable, and importantly, it has a small balcony that lets in natural breezes. Having fresh, circulating air in the room is incredibly important to me. There was a short-haired lady at the front desk who was exceptionally kind and thoughtful. When I checked my luggage, she noticed that what I'd bought was a cream roll and thoughtfully offered to refrigerate it for me. She also gave us a warm farewell when we left. Although I'm not entirely sure if she was trying to communicate with me in Chinese because I couldn't hear very well with her mask on. There are some downsides, though. Even on the 8th floor, I was still bothered by motorcycle noise every night. I'm a light sleeper by nature, so I didn't get good rest those two nights."

"During the autumn foliage season, hotels tend to be pricier, but this large room was incredibly comfortable. My parents, their little one, and grandma stayed here – three adults and a child – and it was spacious. The toilet and shower being separate was a huge plus for the family, no fighting over bathroom time! The bedding was also very comfortable. Downstairs, there's a free hot spring bath, and the gym is free to use. Our baby developed influenza and a fever right after arriving in Japan, but thankfully, there's an emergency clinic directly across the street from the hotel. We were able to get urgent care for the baby without waiting, and the doctor used a translation device throughout – it was a real lifesaver! There's a 'Life' supermarket about a five-minute walk away that has everything, especially fresh sashimi, bento boxes, salads, and fruits – so fresh! The hotel is right across the street from the train station. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly. There's also a fantastic Italian restaurant and a wagyu beef restaurant within a few minutes' walk. You can even take a bus to see the autumn leaves at the temple for a cheap price. This hotel was so comfortable; we'll definitely stay here again!"

"The lobby makes a strong first impression with its tasteful, contemporary design—very much in line with what seasoned travelers appreciate after a long journey. Location-wise, the hotel is a solid choice. Being close to the train station and surrounded by local food options made getting around and finding good meals effortless. That said, the 5pm check-in time is noticeably later than usual and can be inconvenient if you arrive early. I passed the time at the restaurant and bar next to the lobby, taking advantage of their Happy Hour, which helped. A nice touch was the self-service luggage storage area—practical and traveler-friendly. I stayed in a corner room. The room itself was fine: clean, functional, and simple, as expected of many Japanese hotels. The view, however, was unremarkable. I also tried the public bath. It was reasonably sized and, thankfully, not too crowded during my visit, making it a relaxing experience. Service was a bit cool at first, though it improved as the stay went on. Overall, I would consider returning, especially when traveling as a couple."

"This is a long-established hotel, very close to Kyoto Station, the city's main transportation hub. The rooms are spacious with large windows that let in plenty of light. For breakfast, you have a choice of two restaurants: one is a rotating restaurant on a high floor with great views, offering a set menu. The other is a buffet on the first floor with a very rich selection. The downsides are the lack of laundry facilities, the bathroom isn't wet/dry separated, and the room lighting is a bit dim."

"A little gem of a hotel right in the middle of Kyoto! Location could not be better. The hotel itself is ”Japan sized” (rooms are small) but the space is so cleverly used I spent more time marvelling at the efficiency in design than worrying about the lack of space. Service similarly was very efficient, what was provided was what was needed and done to a high standard. Rooms were not cleaned every day but nice fresh towels were provided every morning. There was no laundry service but there were excellent coin operated laundry machines. Would certainly stay here the next time I return to Kyoto!"

"The location is great, nestled between Hankyu Shijo-Omiya and Karasuma, making it easy to walk to both. This is super convenient for getting between Osaka Umeda and Kyoto Kawaramachi. Plus, there's a Shijo-Horikawa bus stop right downstairs that goes to Kyoto Station. Overall, it's very convenient, and the facilities are complete, including a thoughtful luggage storage service! Excellent value for money."

"TLDR: worth!!!! Booked their “run of house - short stay” room. You only find out the room decor and size when you enter, which is fun if you’re into surprises. The room was relatively big (for 1 pax), and was very clean. A few downsides: there’s no vanity, a total of 2 power sockets in the whole room, frosted window that can’t be opened, bidet wasn’t working, you can hear traffic from the station, soundproofing wasn’t great. Hotel service was great! They have amenities in the lobby but not in the rooms. They also give you a discount voucher for the observation deck. And the rooftop bar is conveniently located in the same building. Location is amazing! Easy to find, extremely near the train station. A lot of food places nearby, even in the train station. Overall a good stay!"

"This was the best hotel of the three we stayed in on our trip to Japan. The location was absolutely central to everything, and amenities were all close at hand. Close to Kyoto station meant that even when you were out all you had to do was finding a train or bus coming back to the station. From the first view of the hotel inside we knew we were going to enjoy our stay. The room blew us away when we opened the door, it was well laid out. The service and food were exceptional, absolutely loved the ”Meat Theatre” this was an all you can eat and well worth the money. The staff were truly helpful at all times. Exceptionally good value loved it and would recommend it to everyone we know that are going to Kyoto."

"Overall, my stay was quite comfortable, making it a great choice for business travelers who need to work on the go. The room was fully equipped with an adjustable standing desk, a large monitor, and a mechanical keyboard, providing excellent working conditions. However, this complete setup took up a significant amount of space, and I hadn't anticipated such facilities, which made the room feel a bit cramped and confining. The bathroom only had a separate shower stall, no bathtub, but toiletries and disposable slippers were well-provided. Many Japanese hotels usually don't offer slippers proactively, requiring you to fetch them yourself or not offering them at all, so this thoughtful touch was appreciated. The vanity counter was exceptionally spacious, making it easy to place personal items. The bed was soft and comfortable, offering a good rest experience. The guest rooms are in a unique location, situated above several yakitori restaurants. During dinner hours, there was a faint charcoal aroma in the air – not strong, but clearly noticeable. There's a significant time restriction: the main entrance closes after 11 PM. The building is connected to shops on the ground floor, and the front desk is located on an upper floor. After closing, there's no one at the door, so late arrivals cannot enter independently. On this occasion, I was fortunate enough to enter by following other hotel guests. The overall check-in process wasn't convenient. The location is the biggest highlight, right next to the Takase River, with exceptionally beautiful riverside views. The shops downstairs offer a rich selection, making dining out very convenient, and the surrounding commercial district is well-developed. Being close to both high-end malls and budget-friendly shops means all shopping needs can be met nearby. It's also due to this prime location that one can truly appreciate the unique beauty of the Takase River. The overall experience was decent, but the breakfast quality was outstanding. There's a dress code for dining; slippers are not permitted. You can choose between a Japanese set meal or an American breakfast set, with an additional self-service buffet area. The ingredients were carefully selected; the orange juice was freshly squeezed on the spot, and the honey was prepared right there, far superior in quality to pre-made meals. The breakfast area also offered excellent views, making for a superb dining experience. Overall, the location and meals were exceptional, but the accommodation itself was just okay."
