I come to Tokyo several times a year, staying a fortnight or more each time. This time I spent seven nights at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu.
The room faced Hie Shrine. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows I could see the shrine's copper roof and half of Tokyo's skyline. The décor was modern without excess; the layout flowed easily, Bose speakers hidden in the walls, another set in the bathroom ceiling, connected by a 3.5mm jack. The curtains were motorized, though you hardly needed to close them.
The turndown service. I would leave in the evening and return late to find the room changed: only the hallway light and bedside lamp left on, a bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, two chocolates beside them. The evening tea and teacup, previously stored in the cabinet, had been moved next to the coffee machine. These changes were so slight you had to think back carefully to confirm they had happened at all. The temperature and humidity had been adjusted. As if the room itself remembered your habits.
Room service fell short of the ryokan in Hakone or Lake Toya, but well above the ordinary hotel. Each day I made two or three cups of complimentary coffee, played music, read, wrote. In seven days I finished three books. The research ahead began to take shape.
There were drawbacks. No washing machine, but a decent laundromat ten minutes' walk away—a chance to wander the streets of Akasaka. The room provided HDMI and ethernet ports but no cables; for those who came to rest, perhaps a mercy. The minibar fridge was mostly occupied by drinks for purchase, same as the Imperial, though there was still room for my sparkling water.
The day I left it was half past five and fully dark. I could barely make out the faces of the bellhop and the taxi driver. Together they loaded my luggage into the boot. I wished the bellhop a happy new year in Japanese and told her I liked her hat. She smiled and returned the greeting. As the taxi pulled out of the underground drive, I thought of the inns Kawabata once wrote about: what had to be sought in the mountains of snow country can now be reached by elevator from the B2 exit of a metro station.
I have watched the Shinagawa Prince Hotel loosen quietly over time, slip a little. That kind of decline is rarely one great error. It begins the day someone forgets to leave a glass of water, neglects to move a packet of tea, omits a newspaper. As for The Capitol Hotel Tokyu: in Japanese, what I experienced over these seven days is called ちょうどいい.

Donna MarinaThe room was very new, and the shower wasn't small with plenty of hot water and strong pressure. The location was convenient, and the bed was comfortable. If two people are staying with large luggage, it's best to book a deluxe room, not the smallest one. The small gift upon check-in was a nice touch.
The toiletries included good skincare products, but I had to specifically ask the front desk for cotton swabs, so the amenity set wasn't very complete. Surprisingly, there was only a yukata and no pajamas – I've stayed in so many hotels in Japan and never encountered one without pajamas. There also wasn't any garment deodorizer spray in the room, which is quite unusual.
The breakfast was delicious, but the open kitchen had a very strong smell. I'd recommend improving the ventilation, as I always had to shower after eating breakfast.
Overall, it was still very good! It's close to Akihabara, Don Quijote, Matsumoto Kiyoshi, and more.

Guest UserWe had an excellent stay at the Tokyo Bay Shiomi Prince Hotel. Arriving by train, we entered through the side entrance and were immediately impressed by the spacious, welcoming lobby. The check-in process was seamless, and the complimentary skincare set was a very thoughtful touch. The spa facilities were clean and felt very secure thanks to the card-key access. Our room was large, spotless, and well-equipped with all the essentials. We also appreciated the lobby refreshments (coffee, tea, and water) while waiting for our airport bus. All the staff are very helpful especially the conceige counter. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Tokyo.

KL1234HGreat stay at lyf Ginza Tokyo. The location is excellent, right between two subway lines which made getting around very easy.
I was traveling with my wife and 3-year-old, and the setup worked really well for us. The co-working space on the second floor was a big plus, I could get some work done without disrupting the family.
The room was clean, modern, and well maintained. There’s also a 7-Eleven just around the corner, which was surprisingly useful with jet lag. Being able to grab food at 3am in slippers made a difference.
The reception team was very helpful, especially with arranging airport luggage delivery.
Would definitely stay here again.

Xin Ying ShiThis is my second time staying at Keio Plaza Hotel. For Tokyo standards, the rooms are quite spacious. However, it's a bit of a walk to the subway station, at least 10 minutes. On the bright side, the Limousine Bus from the airport drops you off directly at the hotel, which is super convenient. The staff were very welcoming and helped me with my luggage during check-in, making it a breeze. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby, which is very handy. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit.

young_juThe accommodation was really clean, and the staff's service was excellent. The lounge coffee is incredibly delicious! I think I had a cup every time I went out and came back! 😆 I have a family member who uses a wheelchair, and although the executive room we stayed in wasn't a barrier-free room, it was spacious enough to move around comfortably. If I ever come back to Tokyo, I'd definitely want to stay here again. It's also close to Tokyo Station and just excellent.

RufThe room was incredibly spacious, and the elevators were very efficient. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and it's conveniently located close to both JR and subway lines, making transportation a breeze. The staff were very friendly, and the self-service check-in and check-out made everything super convenient. You can store your luggage after checking out, and there's a bus service to Haneda Airport.

iPrisssyI had an excellent stay at YOTEL Tokyo Ginza and would absolutely stay here again.
From the moment I arrived, the service and accommodations exceeded my expectations. The luggage storage option was incredibly convenient and made it easy to enjoy the city before check-in and after check-out without having to drag my bags around Tokyo.
One of the highlights of my stay was the restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and it was a great option whether I wanted a quick bite or a relaxed meal. The on-site bar was another standout feature—perfect for unwinding after a long day of exploring.
I also really appreciated the late checkout accommodation, which added a level of flexibility and comfort that made my departure day much less stressful.
The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to relax and recharge. Overall, every aspect of the experience felt well worth the cost.
If you’re looking for a modern hotel with great amenities, excellent service, and a convenient location, I highly recommend YOTEL Ginza. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Tokyo.

TravelFredieWe booked the Tokyo tower side view room. When lying on the bed we are directly facing to the side of the Tokyo tower to enjoy the fantastic tower view.
The room is with good size. There is a ventilation feature on the window bay where you can get some fresh air. The bathtub has the bottom massage function which I quite like it. The TV is a bit old and small though.
The breakfast we chose is on the top floor where you can enjoy the city view around the hotel. Breakfast options are not too many but definitely enough, the taste is quite good I would say.
There are many entertainment options in the hotel, such as public bath and bowling.

employees and amazing breakfast. They had many vegetables + yogurt + all kind of meats (I really liked the beef) - really worth it for 2100 yen per person. My only complaint is that breakfast ends quite early at 9:30.
It is very close to 2 metro lines (green and orange) so you can easily reach any place in Tokyo.
There is a non-stop 7/11 at the -1 floor (you can take the elevator and exit through the shop). It has a very easy to use and good exchange rate ATM.
The gym is like the typical hotel gym. Very small and with few dumbbells.
