"This hotel seems quite popular with Chinese tourists. Sitting in the lobby, I almost felt like I was back home, it was so noisy – probably all tour groups. The room was really small, and the heating was turned up way too high. The facilities are a bit old-fashioned. The window was surprisingly large, which is rare for Japan. Breakfast didn't offer much variety and the taste was just so-so. Overall, it was an average experience."

"Have to say it’s a nice and beautiful hotel. Did not try to use the Onsen as I have a full back tattoo. They do offer some sticker patches for 250Yen but that is if your have small tattoo.
We checked in late around 8pm. We asked counter if they could arrange breakfast the next morning. They replied it’s full. When asked if the same reception if she can arranged dinner. Again she said it’s full. But when I walk over and ask the restaurant directly. They invited me in. Not a very good service coming from the reception lady who just said no without checking.
So unless you like Onsen. You can opt for other hotel."

"I just realized I completely forgot to take photos of the room! It looked pretty much like the sample pictures on Trip.com.
Japanese hotels are generally small, and this one wasn't particularly spacious, but I could open up my 26-inch suitcase on the floor.
**Location:** It's at the end of Tanukikoji Shopping Street. It's a bit of a walk to Susukino and Odori Station, but there are plenty of great places to eat along the way. Ichiran Ramen, Katsu Ichi Sen Conveyor Belt Sushi, Soul Store Soup Curry, and Espresso D Works for brunch are all within walking distance. So, aside from when I was arriving and departing (when I'd take a taxi to Sapporo Station), I walked everywhere else to digest after meals.
**Cleanliness:** They clean every two days, which is acceptable.
**Facilities:** There's no bathtub, but the shower pressure is excellent and very comfortable. What's worth mentioning are their Pola toiletries – after using them, my hair felt incredibly light and voluminous, with no tangles at all. There's an outdoor onsen on the top floor, but I didn't get to try it, which is a shame.
Overall, it's pretty good value for money; the location is great, making it convenient for travel."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right near Exit 1 of Nakajima Park. It's super convenient to get to Sapporo Station and Susukino.
The hotel's onsen (hot spring bath) is incredibly comfortable; I made sure to go every day.
The room was a bit small but had everything I needed. My luggage was a bit hard to open fully. The view from the 17th floor was really nice. The front desk service was great. Just a heads-up, this room doesn't provide bottled water. You can drink the tap water directly, but if you prefer bottled water, you'll need to buy your own."

"This is my second stay in the year at the hotel. The room is clean and spacious comparing to other local hotels and the view is amazing. Parking is also easy as there is a car park at the basement. (A parking fee is charged) Otherwise, it’s about a 10 minute walk to the Sapporo station in good weather. I believe due to the high number of rooms, it may get crowded at the lobby and the hot bath area sometimes."

"This was my third stay, and I chose this hotel again because my previous two experiences were so good. However, this time was truly unacceptable. We arrived at the hotel around 11 AM. My daughter had injured her leg while skiing, so we asked the middle-aged woman at check-in if we could check in early. She said yes, but we'd have to pay for an additional day – what a rip-off! The funny thing is, they told us we could wait in the lobby until 3 PM without paying. The lobby was nice, so we decided to wait there instead of wasting about 1700 RMB. But then, to our surprise, we saw the staff taking our luggage and other belongings to our room much earlier, while we weren't allowed to enter. Crazy! On top of that, the Wi-Fi signal this time was incredibly poor, almost unusable. Reporting it to the hotel didn't help either; we had to use our own data. So, this stay was truly, truly, truly disappointing! Attached is a photo of my daughter in a wheelchair, and they still wouldn't let us check in early. That middle-aged woman was so inhumane!"

"Good location, 10mins walk to shopping district, easily access to places. There’s a train station exit in front of hotel as well.
Room size pretty small, have to keep luggage under bed, there’s hot bath in the hotel roof, able to enjoy soaking in hot bath under cold weather, but you have to bring your own towel from the room. Try to avoid peak hour, I went at 6+7 is quite empty, however after dinner time 9+10 is very crowded.
Breakfast is not as good as the photos shown in hotel website, but still have good varieties to choose from.
Able to rent different kind of facilities, eg air humidifier, hair curler etc"

"I booked a standard room and was given a high floor on the 28th, which offered a fantastic view. The hotel's decor is very practical, and the huge windows provide an excellent view. The hotel service is absolutely top-notch. I highly recommend purchasing the hotel breakfast; the 35th-floor restaurant offers a stunning view, and the breakfast food itself is also outstanding. The only minor drawback is that there's construction below the south-facing rooms, leading to a bit of noise during the day. I assume north-facing rooms would have a similar issue due to the JR line. The window soundproofing is fine, but the design of the emergency escape device seems to allow noise into the room."

"Hotel is in an awesome location right smack in the middle of li xiao lu no. 6. covered walkway and 5minutes walk to Poletown underground. Onsen is convenient, massage is good. Washing machine is free and right outside the onsen, just need to pay for the dryer. Microwave oven is available at level 2 and 6. JJiaoxilaoshiThis is by far the best onsen hotel I've ever stayed in! It's located around Jozankei town, with a shuttle bus service from Sapporo, making it very private and quiet. The room is spacious enough, and the private onsen is excellent – my skin felt so smooth after a soak. The bedding was comfortable, and the pillows were quite high-tech. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered a healing view of the snowy landscape, and if you're lucky, you might even spot a raccoon! The service was top-notch, patient and enthusiastic. I have to rave about the food at this hotel; the Italian dinner was incredible, every dish was superb, using seasonal local ingredients and beautifully presented. After dinner, you can even take some rice balls, desserts, and drinks back to your room. The hotel has a smoking room and vending machines, so you don't have to worry about going hungry. I'd love to come back again in the summer if I get the chance.

GGuest UserThe hotel is short distance away from the major sightseeing spots at jozankei, but still walkable distance. That allows a tranquil and relaxing environment which you can truly enjoy the stay and immerse yourself into the nature. The resort is beautiful and room is super spacious. The buffet is wonderful. All the food are very fresh which make you feel very healthy. The onsen are nice. However, I found the temperature of outdoor bath too high. I feel recharged after the stay, both physically and mentally.

DDamengThe room facilities are a bit old, but the Japanese do an excellent job with hotel maintenance, so the accommodation environment is still acceptable. We booked two rooms and were assigned 101/102, the innermost rooms on the lowest floor. After staying for three days, we noticed that all the guests on the first floor were Chinese, while Japanese and Western guests were on the higher floors (7th-8th). Even though the first floor is also on a hillside, it still felt a bit like we were being treated differently. The English proficiency of the front desk staff is limited, so be prepared with a translation app for check-in or when you need assistance; it will make things faster and more efficient. There's a lounge that always offers coffee and ice cream desserts, which is nice, and the kids loved it.

GGuest UserThis onsen hotel is definitely worth the price. The environment and hygiene are excellent, and the room layout is fantastic. The yukata was the most comfortable I wore during my Hokkaido trip. The service was absolutely superb, especially the proprietress at the Kaiseki restaurant, Shoan. She was incredibly elegant and generous, giving us an authentic and meticulous Japanese service experience. The private onsen with a fee had average views. The outdoor public onsen was closed on the day of my stay due to cold weather. The indoor onsen, for a hotel of this price point, was quite ordinary. Therefore, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the onsen experience. All in all, while it might not be exceptionally surprising, this is a hotel that's well worth its price.

獨獨行俠N560PURight outside the hotel there is a bus stop and access to the property is convenient (but I drive from Sapporo anyway). The room overall condition met expectation although I am quite disappointed that they only assign me to the second floor, and literally people from outside can see me if I don’t lower the blinds.
There are 4 solo onsen rooms available for private use and it is recommended that the usage time stays at 40 mins.
For the onsen, the public one is good although it is relatively small, and can be crowded sometimes.
Overall, you come to Jozankei because you want to escape from the hustle and bustle and I enjoy my time there. But consider how much I pay for the room and board with virtually no view, there are plenty options out there that could get the most bang from the bucks.

Location: in the Jozankei Onsen town that’s about an hour + out of Sapporo. Honestly if you’re in a group, just book a cab out, it was about $80++ for 3 of us! Otherwise remember to book the Onsen bus shuttle early in advance 🥹
Area around Onsen is nothing much besides other Onsen houses, a small cafe and other smol tourist picture spots.
Back to the Ryokan: this was my first experience being in one and I’m so glad I chose this place! Mum and sister throughly enjoyed it as well, using our in room Onsen ( there’s 2!) and also the shared common Onsen with an outdoor facing the snow too ❄️☃️♨️
Service:The staff was extremely polite and efficient, seeing the reviews of them being rude was kinda uncalled for. They were nothing but kind and attentive. It is a very quiet and peaceful place , I understand the need for all guests to be maintain the atmosphere too.
Food: amazing, one of the best meals I’ve had in Japan so far ♥️ the pictures below speaks for itself 🥹 private dining room to enjoy the view too🏔️
Loved small touches too like the mikimoto soaps , Dyson hair dryers ( in the public Onsen) And the chopstick souvenirs 🥹
I can’t wait to come back here again with my partner 🤍

GGuest UserThis is a historic Japanese onsen hotel. The hot spring water quality is genuinely good, attracting many Japanese families and couples. There are also quite a few Korean families and Western tourists. However, the overall facilities are a bit old, and the flow within the onsen area is quite complex. There aren't many pools, but they are spread across multiple floors with lots of stairs. Walking around like that **in that condition** felt a bit awkward and cold. The open-air onsen on the 16th floor is shared by men and women at different times, so if all family members want to enjoy it, one day definitely isn't enough (see the last picture for the onsen schedule). The 'water world' is fun and great for kids, and soaking in the hot spring after playing there is very relaxing. The dining is just okay, nothing special, as they mainly cater to group tours.
P.S. The scenery in Jozankei is worth exploring, and the nearby ski resort is worth a visit (the kind for playing in the snow). The kids had a blast.

GGuest UserI had to go to a conference, but I wanted to make some fun memories for my kids, so I stayed here with them, as it has a pool. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Two of the water slides were closed, so it seems they're only open every day on weekends this month. Even without them, we were able to play in the pool until 9:00 PM and then relax in the hot springs.

Most of the hotel’s facilities were recently renovated, so they felt new and beautiful. However, only some of the rooms had been updated. Our room was older—not too old, but slightly disappointing compared to the pretty new lobby. That said, it was clean.
Our room was near several Chinese tourists who often talked in the corridor, but it was quiet at night.
Buffet dinner and breakfast were included. The food was okay—good compared to other countries, but average compared to other Japanese hotels.
The onsen was excellent, with multiple pools at different temperatures, including cold baths and an open-air onsen (though partially enclosed due to the hotel’s location). There was a lounge area with free soft drinks and massage chairs before entering the onsen. A table tennis area was also available, though in the basement and a bit hot, so we didn’t play.
The reception spoke limited English but tried their best to communicate. There was also a self-service coffee machine in the lobby with a lounge area to relax.
The hotel’s location was very convenient: close to the bus stop, with convenience stores nearby. During our summer visit, the illumination event was walkable from the hotel.
