"The hotel room did not come cheap, but overall, we had a pleasant stay aside from a hiccup during check-in when the staff forgot to inform us that our room was ready and kept us waiting. The public onsen was great and we spent more time there than the private in-room onsen. The free ice-creams, drinks and ramen (during supper time) were delightful touches. Pillow gallery offered options of different types of pillows was great! The hotel is shoes-free, meaning one has to remove our shoes and store in the lockers at the entrance and move around shoeless or in the tabi socks provided. The yukata pyjamas provided were comfortable, so were the beds. The use of sliding doors meant one will not hear of slamming of room doors by other guests. It is a cosy hotel to stay in. What we did not like was the lack of a sheltered drop-off point to unload our luggages and the sensor lights at the hallway of the room. As it could not be dimmed or switched off, it would light up brightly when going to the toilet in the middle of the night."

"This hotel is super conveniently located right behind Sapporo JR Station, a short walk from the North Exit towards Hokkaido University. Hokkaido University itself is just across the street diagonally, and there's a FamilyMart, 7-Eleven, Lawson, and even a Hokkaido convenience store nearby – couldn't ask for more convenience! The area around Sapporo Station is also great for shopping and dining. You can grab all sorts of popular souvenirs, cakes, and desserts from Daimaru department store and bring them right back to the hotel to enjoy at your leisure! The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. However, if you add an extra bed to a double room to make it a triple, there's not much space left to walk around once you open a large suitcase. The hotel breakfast was definitely up to standard. While the variety wasn't huge, the food tasted great. The roasted beef, desserts, vegetables, and steamed potatoes were all excellent, and they even had slight variations each day, which was a nice touch! Self-service luggage storage was also very convenient. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Sapporo!"

"Aside from the slightly dated facilities and its location outside Otaru city center, there are no other downsides. There's a covered walkway from the train station to the mall, and the hotel is located inside this shopping mall. The mall has many restaurants, and most conveniently, there's an Aeon supermarket. Across the street is the bay harbor, perfect for an evening stroll. The hotel service is excellent. Although the hotel opened some time ago and the facilities are a bit old, they aren't dilapidated. For example, there are no USB ports, which nowadays could be considered an 'old money' aesthetic. I recommend staying for more than two days; one day is too short."

"March 24, 2026 I stayed at Mori no Uta for my birthday. I contacted the hotel in advance, and they had a birthday card ready for me. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from Makomanai Station, which needs to be booked beforehand. On the day I checked out, I booked the 9:30 AM shuttle, arrived at the station at 10:00 AM, and smoothly caught the 10:10 AM airport bus to New Chitose Airport. It was all seamless. The Japanese-Western style room was 40 square meters and quite spacious. It had a huge massage chair and a coffee machine. What impressed me most was dinner, where they offered freshly made pizza or naan that you could customize with toppings and have delivered to your table once baked. The naan crust was soft and fragrant with a wheaty aroma. I specifically asked for extra large shrimp and a generous amount of cheese – it was impossible not to love it! The dinner seating faced a beautifully illuminated snow scene outside, which was absolutely stunning. The hotel lobby boasts a magnificent, floor-to-ceiling fireplace, which is perfect for photos. In the evening, there was a small harp concert, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. Both breakfast and dinner featured incredibly creamy ice cream. I had two big bowls at each meal and thoroughly enjoyed it!"

"A beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings. We had a great stay at Hanamomiji. We especially enjoyed the breakfast buffet (I will be trying to recreate it the pumpkin salad at home!) and the delicious dinner. The public onsen was also a real highlight (with lots of different temp and outside and inside options, nice hair and face products and a super hot sauna), along with the snack and drink freebies in the lobby after 3pm. Our room was also huge. The private onsen we used wasn't as nice - next time I'd stick to the public one."

The room facilities are a bit old, but the Japanese do an excellent job with hotel maintenance, so the accommodation environment is still acceptable. We booked two rooms and were assigned 101/102, the innermost rooms on the lowest floor. After staying for three days, we noticed that all the guests on the first floor were Chinese, while Japanese and Western guests were on the higher floors (7th-8th). Even though the first floor is also on a hillside, it still felt a bit like we were being treated differently. The English proficiency of the front desk staff is limited, so be prepared with a translation app for check-in or when you need assistance; it will make things faster and more efficient. There's a lounge that always offers coffee and ice cream desserts, which is nice, and the kids loved it.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough – it was one of the highlights of our Hokkaido trip! The free shuttle bus service to and from Sapporo Station (both ways) made everything so convenient. No need to worry about taxis or public transport after a long day – just hop on and relax. Super thoughtful and saved us a lot of hassle. The decoration is beautifully traditional Japanese style – think elegant tatami rooms, shoji screens, and that authentic ryokan vibe. It felt very calming and immersive right from check-in. The onsen is absolutely superb! The water quality is excellent, the facilities are clean and well-maintained, and the views (especially the outdoor bath) are stunning – so relaxing after exploring Sapporo or Jozankei area. One of the best onsen experiences I’ve had. Breakfast buffet was a real treat: fresh Hokkaido ingredients shine through, with amazing seafood (uni, salmon roe, sashimi-grade fish), local veggies, and high-quality dishes. Everything tasted super fresh and delicious – perfect way to start the day. They even offer free hot wine and sparkling wine service in the evenings – such a nice touch! We really enjoyed sipping while unwinding. Honestly, I can’t say enough good things. Great value, authentic atmosphere, top-notch onsen, and thoughtful extras. Highly recommended! 🌸♨️

We’ve stayed here for 7 nights. Which was a bit longer stay for Sapporo. However as the weather was so bad with heavy snow, so we did enjoy our stays in hotel during the snowy weather. The breakfast is so great and we expect it every morning, as it includes a variety of foods so you always can find something to enjoy. All staffs are very friendly and welcoming, especially two male & senior chefs at ramen and omelette. We also bought spa in our room rate, so every night we did enjoy a pleasant spa( though it’s not hot spring). In front of hotel, there is a small mall - BIVI , which with some good restaurants ,nice cafe (Gentle Bagel) and coop. Even at the heavy snowing days, you have no worries to spend time in. B1 with very practical laundry service , costs are fairly . If you have budget, you can choose only room (without breakfast and spa) plans, which is with very CP, strongly recommended.

I was very nervous when I made the reservation. I looked for reviews on several platforms for the hotel, but there were almost no reviews on the entire web. However, I didn't want to go to those large hotels that receive tour groups, so I decided to give it a try. The hotel is a very, very local hot spring hotel. There is a man and a woman who are both older cleaning the hotel. There is also a front desk and restaurant manager. There are 10 rooms in the whole hotel, and 4 people serve. Except for the restaurant, all other areas are self-service. The hotel is very secluded and close to the river. The nearest bus stop to the hotel is Jozankei Bridge, about 500 meters away on foot. The rooms are clean, tidy and comfortable, but the facilities are a little old. There is an air outlet above the bed with a large air volume, and there is no place to close it. The hot spring is small and exquisite, and the men's and women's baths will be switched, so that you can experience the hot springs on both sides on the day of check-in and the next day. The biggest feature of the hotel is the food. Just look at the pictures. It is a leisure hotel that is very worth experiencing and staying in again.

I felt like I was staying in a Ghibli movie! The room was huge, with an open design and distinct Japanese charm. The private onsen was incredibly relaxing, and the large window allowed me to watch TV while soaking. On the first floor, there were unlimited snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages – you could easily spend the whole day just drinking! Breakfast was also delivered to the room, offering great privacy. Perfect for a relaxing, chill-out stay. Just a heads-up: when booking through Ctrip, there was no mention of needing to reserve dinner in advance. As a result, we only had the option of a kaiseki meal on the day, which was pretty mediocre and not worth the price (aside from the à la carte seafood from the tank).

”Peaceful, Clean, Isolated” We booked the hotel in the last minute because our trip plan changed. We booked the ”Run of house” room-only type at an acceptable price. We arrived late at about 21.00. An aunty was at the reception to check us in. Although she could not speak English but she appeared very friendly. We got a room on the first floor. The room was new, clean, and large; with a separate living room, a bathroom, and a bedroom (western style). We went to the Onsen right away; there were indoor and outdoor Onsen. At that time, there were no other people in the bath, so it was so private and relaxing.  We spent a night there and left early in the morning. There were other guests in the hotel but it was quiet and peaceful. The check out process was quick. The only drawback was the location. It was a little bit far away from other things. The closest bus stop was about 10 minutes away from the hotel (it was okay in the day, but walking along that route at night was a bit scary as there were a lot of abandoned buildings).

Comfortable stay with good facilities (better if you have a car) Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The facilities were good and the place was comfortable. We especially enjoyed the onsen, which was very relaxing after a long day. One thing to note is the location 🙂it is not very convenient without a car, so I would recommend driving. If you have a car, then everything is fine and easy to get around. Service was decent overall, and everything went quite smoothly. There is still some room for improvement, but it was a good experience and worth the price. Would consider staying again.

The location is very good and convenient for traveling. It is very convenient to walk to the subway station in two steps. It is only three stops away from Li Xiaolu Commercial Street. It is great. The environment is also good and the facilities are complete. I am very satisfied!
