"The hotel's location is pretty good, and the front desk staff were also very nice. There are plenty of food options nearby, and transportation is quite convenient. However, I booked a double room, and for some reason, it became a triple room with three single beds, which was very uncomfortable to sleep in. The main issue was that the beds were too narrow; it felt like I'd fall off if I just turned over. Other than that, everything else was fine."

"This is the best hotel for breakfast! I've stayed at Lakeshore Hotel in Yilan before and loved their breakfast, so I decided to book Lakeshore Hotel in Tainan. The breakfast spread in Tainan was even more diverse and plentiful. Besides the traditional hotel breakfast, they offered many local specialties. We stayed for two days, and the breakfast options changed daily, which was great – no repetition at all. I really think other hotels should learn from Lakeshore. We'll definitely choose Lakeshore again on our next trip to Taiwan."

"Overall, I had a very good stay and think this hotel deserves a higher rating, especially compared with some higher-star hotels I stayed at in Taiwan. The room was very clean and housekeeping was thorough. I also really appreciated the free coffee (black coffee) and water dispenser. The shared kitchen and dining area are very useful, as you do not have to eat inside your room. Having the garbage disposal downstairs is also great, especially as you do not have to keep food waste in the room. The air conditioning was strong, the fridge worked well, and there was also a large shared fridge/freezer and dishes available on the ground floor. The washing machine was excellent: 40 TWD for a roughly 50-minute wash and 10 TWD for detergent. Unlike many other hotels, it also had warm-water programs, and my clothes actually smelled fresh afterwards. The receptionist was very helpful, and being able to contact reception through LINE while outside the hotel was extremely convenient. They responded quickly and were always helpful. The elevator and stairs were also good. I especially appreciated that there is a guest toilet available even after check-out. Also, a hairdryer and slippers were also provided, which was convenient. A few negatives: the walls are very thin, the bed was too short for me (1.73m), hand soap was missing, and I found it unusual that toilet paper cannot be flushed. Check-in only starts at 4 p.m., which is quite late. One additional thing to note for taller guests: the bathroom ceiling is quite low. The biggest issue was noise from other guests. There was a lot of loud noise after 11 p.m. and late into the night. It would be very helpful if the hotel introduced clear quiet-hour rules and reminded guests at check-in to keep noise down after around 10 p.m. Regardless of where people come from, being considerate of other hotel guests should be basic courtesy, especially late at night. Apart from the noise, this was a very good hotel with excellent facilities (see pictures) and helpful staff."

"Facilities: A bit old. The toilet having a smart seat was a nice touch, but the bathroom itself was too small and cramped. The bathtub felt a bit superfluous. The toilet couldn't flush on the second morning, which might have been due to a water outage. Cleanliness: Just average. Ambiance: The swimming pool downstairs looked pretty good. Service: Polite, warm, attentive, and thoughtful."

"The hotel's location is super convenient, it's a great 10-minute walk to the station, and nearby attractions are all within walking distance. The room was new and very clean, but the toilet flush wasn't great; you couldn't throw toilet paper in, and it often took 3 or more flushes to clear everything, which was a bit awkward when staying with friends. The shower head also wasn't very powerful; if you adjusted the temperature to be slightly hotter, the water pressure would become very weak. The hairdryer wasn't strong enough either; even on the highest setting, it took ages to dry my hair."

"The hotel is conveniently located next to Tainan Railway Station. As an established five-star hotel, there's no need to worry about cleanliness or service. My room on the 30th floor, facing the train station, offered a clear view of the Tainan coastline and skyline, which was absolutely beautiful. The fitness center, sauna facilities, and pool were all excellent. The turndown service was a thoughtful touch, providing fresh slippers and even tidying up the room again. Holding it to the higher standards of a five-star hotel, I'll nitpick a few areas that, if improved, would make it even better: Firstly, the hairdryer was underpowered and old – a 1200w model from 2018. It took almost 20 minutes to dry my hair, which was quite annoying. Secondly, the front desk hotline. I called the front desk about five times, and twice my calls went unanswered. Once was at 9 PM and another time at 11 AM, neither of which are unusual hours. This kind of issue shouldn't happen. Thirdly, the hotel facilities. Perhaps because it's an older hotel, there were slight signs of aging in the room's amenities, and the main light control was a bit inconvenient. Overall, however, it was a very pleasant stay. The staff's attitude was impeccable, and the price was reasonable. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit."

"The hotel's design style and color scheme are very cohesive and comfortable. The room has a record player, and you can borrow records from downstairs to play. The bathroom is very spacious with gentle lighting. Disposable tableware is provided in the room, which is convenient for taking food to go. Breakfast is also good with many options. Highly, highly recommend! A hotel with great character. Ambiance: It's located in an alley off a main street, so it can get a little noisy when cars pass by."

"The hotel room was clean and basic for the most part and a few small bugs in the bathroom, but nothing major. 4 bottles of water are included and slippers. Beds are firm and comfortable and pillows are ok. However, if you are allergic to napthelene (moth balls), then stay away as the place is strong smelling of moth balls though the room doesn't have a closet or wardrobe. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The bathroom is very basic without a door rack to hang your clothes and the shower partition is only enough to shield the toilet from splashes and without any sliding doors. Toilet doesn't accept toilet paper, so you'll need to put into the provided waste basket. The young lady at the counter was generally helpful, but in a basic kind of way. The hotel is conveniently located right across from the Taiwan railway station in ”downtown” kind of area. The lobby looked big, clean, and decent with a ”putting green” off to the side. The room is quiet, though there are people talking loudly as they check in late at night. The lobby “free wifi” connects, but has no internet service. Room wifi is unsecured, so make sure you have a vpn or use it for unimportant things. They also provide a free luggage storage service before you check in so you can sightsee without lugging your luggage around town. Overall, it’s a good choice for a basic short stay at a very convenient location. The price is also very good. Recommended choice for your next Tainan trip."

"Very clean, spacious, and convenient.  Staff is very friendly and willing to help.  Only downside is that the restaurant offers limited menu that is repetitive for lunch and dinner.  Swimming pool closes early. Most important of all, no gym whatsoever.  Hope there is a gym even if small.  This would make the place much more enjoyable in the future"

Highly recommend this place for its thoughtful details, including free beverages, cookies, and even face masks. Having snacks and a facial mask in the room made my stay so relaxing. Definitely will stay here when I visit Tainan next time."
