"The room was a bit old but well-cleaned. Unfortunately, when I checked in, only smoking rooms were available, so there was a cigarette smell in the room. However, the staff was helpful and provided a scent spray. The breakfast was delicious and very diverse – I was really impressed! There's parking available next to the hotel for 750 yen per night."

"Location: The hotel is situated at the foot of a mountain in Satoyama, a considerable distance from JR Matsumoto Station. However, it offers a unique charm with panoramic views of Matsumoto Castle from the hillside. Transportation: Unless you're driving or taking a taxi, here are your options: 1) The hotel provides a shuttle service to and from JR Station. There are two morning departures at 9 and 10 AM, passing by Matsumoto Castle before heading to JR Station. Return trips are at 4 and 5 PM. The pick-up point is at the temporary parking area to the right of JR Station Matsumoto Castle Exit (not a bus stop). 2) You can take the Meigahara Onsen bus line from the bus terminal downstairs at Alpico Plaza, opposite the temporary parking lot of JR Station, and get off at Fujii Station. You can find the bus schedule on Google Maps. Service: There are English-speaking staff at the front desk, but no Chinese speakers. Simple communication is not an issue. The service was impeccable. Dining: The breakfast is a buffet style with both Japanese and Western options, very extensive and delicious. There are also welcome drinks, including ice cream, juice, coffee, hot tea, and even draft beer! P.S. There are not many dining options near the hotel, so you might want to eat near JR Station before returning to the hotel, or dine at the hotel. I booked one of the few rooms with a private onsen. Soaking in the hot spring while enjoying views of the Northern Alps was incredibly relaxing. The hotel also has a large terrace, perfect for enjoying a drink during the evening 'blue hour' – truly one of life's most comfortable moments."

"It seems like it has recently been renovated, so some of the basic parts are still old, but it was well-maintained and the facility was clean. I think the meals were well-balanced without being too heavy on meat. The bath is said to come from a hot spring source, but it was so hot that I had to be careful to get into it. However, I think the power of the hot springs is that I was able to stay in light clothes until the morning without getting cold. If the changing room is dark, you will not feel safe, so I think it would be better if it was a little brighter. I think the distance between the staff was just right, but since my luggage was heavy, I wish I had an elevator."

"By the time we got there by rental car it was quite late, the reception team has been patient and friendly. Suggest to have more illustrated print out for driving to the sightseeing parking lots and more maps to show before heading out. Plus the water machine is not very handy in giving out hot water for tea. Others are perfect in terms of room and environment."

"I really loved my time at Park Lodge Kamikochi, it was truly magical and I can’t believe our luck in finding this place. Location is great, very near to the bus terminal and starting point for many treks. The main areas and the rooms were simple, well-designed and very comfortable. Although note that there is no air conditioning in the room as the weather is already cool. The food was the best part, a delicious variety of offerings, including a live grill! My friends and I were amazed and felt like we got great value and experience out of this stay. The staff were mostly friendly, but we were once suspected of trespassing the premises. However, it was one-off and not a problem as they might experience non-guests entering. Overall, a fantastic experience that I highly recommend."

"The facilities in an old hot spring hotel are a bit outdated, and the waiters are all elderly and can only use translation software to communicate. The size of the small suite is okay. The Japanese tatami is too hard to sleep on. There are not many public baths, but they are very hot. The most amazing thing is the private bath on the 6th floor. No reservation is required. It is first come first served. You can see the city view and the distance. Mountain The set meals for dinner and breakfast are so-so and can only satisfy your needs"

"The hotel is located near Tashiro Pond in Kamikochi, quite far from the bus terminal and Kappa Bridge. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the Imperial Hotel stop to the hotel. Fortunately, the hotel facilities, room equipment and catering services are all very complete, making people forget to leave. The most unforgettable thing is the view of the Azusagawa River outside the hotel gate. I also really appreciated the comfortable electric massage chair outside the large bath, which helped me relieve the fatigue from the long journey. On the day of check-out, I almost couldn't pre-check my luggage to Kamikochi Bus Terminal due to language and communication problems. Fortunately, the hotel staff immediately took remedial measures and delivered the luggage to the main station before the ideal time, so that I had enough time to walk to Myojin Pond and Myojin Bridge to enjoy the beautiful scenery after checking out. In short, the hotel service level is first-class and worth recommending."
