KKatKKGAfter we encountered a bad experience with a desert glamping resort in Dunhuang, we were a bit cautious with Dune when we booked it. However, after I communicated with the manager in Dune via WeChat, I was more confident as he was very polite and helpful. He helped us to booked a transfer from Turpan Airport to Dune resort. As our flight arrived Turpan in the evening, it was late when we arrived at Dune. The manager and another staff came to the entrance of the driveway to welcome us and helped us with our luggage. They took us straight to our tent, and they upgraded us to a bigger tent, too.
We woke up to this beautiful Kumtag Desert Sand dunes, right in front of our tent! It was so beautiful. As the off peak season started, we were the only guests there but the staff were serving us with delicious breakfast and dinner. The food was delicious and plentiful! The manager and staff were very attentive to our requests. One of the staff has helped us to arrange a local guide/driver to take us to the Kumtag desert for an exciting ATV ride and sand sliding. We had a great time. We ended up hiring the same guide, a pleasant and calm Uygur young guy to take us for some sightseeing and dropped us back to Turpan.
I would say to anyone who is looking for a real desert glamping, please come to Dune in Shahshan near Turpan instead of Dunhuang.

GGuest UserThis stay experience is perfect! The moment you open the door, a fresh breath hits you in the face. The marble floor is as smooth as a mirror, the bedding is smooth as new, and even the decorative ornaments in the corners are spotless. Every detail shows the hotel's professionalism and care. The parking lot is well planned and the signs are clear, so you can easily find a space even if it is your first visit. Free parking tickets are also provided when you leave. The biggest surprise was the breakfast session, with a wide variety of Chinese and Western dishes, the freshly cooked noodle soup was fresh and rich, the freshly baked bread was soft and sweet, and the freshly ground coffee was fragrant. You could feel the chef's superb cooking skills in every bite. From the environment to the service, it's impeccable. Next time I come here on a business trip, this hotel will definitely be my best choice!

We arrived at night, and the illuminated manor house was both quiet and bustling, with performances by veteran artists bringing the courtyard to life! After enjoying a welcome feast of grapes, our housekeeper escorted us to our cabin... The swaying light and shadows of the grapevines made me pleasantly surprised to find it felt just like a villa in Bali!
The next morning, we asked our housekeeper for breakfast, which was hearty and healthy. The lovely lady even told us we could add more if we wanted... After breakfast, we could leisurely explore Grape Valley!
My only regret is not staying longer. The cleanliness, quietness, and comfort of the cabin made me want to stay for a month!

GGuest UserThis hotel is so thoughtful. They greeted us as soon as we got off the car, helped us with our luggage, and gave us a big watermelon, which was brought to our room. It is simply a five-star service. The facilities are also very new. The room is clean and sanitary. The most rare thing is that both the front desk and the proprietress are very enthusiastic. We are two women. Because we just called a taxi to take us to the desert, the proprietress was worried that we would be in danger when we went out to play, so she left her phone number. In case anything happened, she would step on the accelerator and come to find us. It was the first time I felt the human touch when I was away from home. Shanshan is really a very good place. When you come here, you are treated as one of their own family. We went to the pharmacy and had a meal. They were all very enthusiastic and warm. If it weren’t for the itinerary, I would have stayed for a few more days. In addition, the hotel also rents clothes for only 50 per set. They took a lot of beautiful photos for us. It is very close to the desert.

SSeanPA68The Baoju hotel is located near the middle of town within a short driving distance to the Kumtag desert facilities. The staff were very friendly. Although they could not speak English, they made every good effort to meet all of our needs. The hotel is located in a strip of small businesses and restaurants. It even is directly attached to a convenience store so you don’t need to leave the building for those small necessities. Our stay was pleasant and restful.

I planned to stay in Turpan for one night and leave the next morning. Because of the high temperature in Turpan, I hope that I can eat, drink and play there at night. It’s best to cool down. I have the impression that the temperature of the grape ditch should be lower than that of Turpan, so I booked another homestay on the road. At that time, I searched for the core scenic spot of the grape ditch on the Internet. Trip.com I first recommended that the homestay. I saw the picture above. It is very beautiful and the evaluation is also very good. Especially in the core scenic spot of Grapegou, I saw that the price of that homestay is the most expensive one in Grapegou Homestay. I think that the price is high and I will definitely enjoy a more convenient environment and quality service. When I arrived at around 9:40 that night, I didn’t know why the weather in the grape ditch was already very dark that day. I saw that there was basically nothing around. I couldn’t see any consumption scenes to eat, drink and play at all, even if its design was distinctive, But he really couldn't meet my needs. So I followed the navigation and continued to walk deep into the Grape Valley Scenic Area. I walked about 3 kilometers and arrived at the Dawaz Customs Park. I saw that there were many homestays opposite it. I walked into this blue oyster at will. I didn’t expect to harvest an unexpected surprise, not only the price is much cheaper, Environmental sanitation facilities and services are unforgettable, with a distinctive yard, you can go out, go to the supermarket restaurant food stall next to it for consumption, and you can also go to the Wazi custom garden to watch the performance, which just meets my needs. GGuest UserWhat a surprise! We called before our arrival to ask for the exact location, and a young man who spoke fluent Mandarin answered the phone. Upon arrival, we discovered he was a Uyghur man. Furthermore, the B&B was fully equipped, with the air conditioning already set up before our arrival. They also offer à la carte dining, and the food was delicious, making it a great value per person. The room was clean, and the service was excellent. From our arrival to our departure, they were very patient with our questions and needs!

Check-in experience: The little girl at the front desk was warm and thoughtful. I encountered a small problem when checking into the family room. After communicating with the store, she decisively changed the room and upgraded it for free. It was very heart-warming.
My favorite: I like the big terrace on the second floor. It is accompanied by stars at night and shaded by ancient trees during the day. It is so comfortable to drink tea with my family.

RRoszaimyCouldn’t be happier with the stay. Arrived early morning at Turpan rail station and the owner granted early checkin without a fuss. Super convenient given the tiring overnight train journey. Owner was also kind enough to arrange for tour driver for one day sightseeing. The area is awesome! Next door is a local vegetable and fruit shop where things can be purchased super cheaply. Bought a large watermelon (in season) and the owner lent a knife to cut it open. Delicious! The room is great; well appointed, clean, breezy. Only slight issue with the bathroom where the water didn’t drain fast enough so need to shower carefully to prevent overflow into the room. Overall, it was a stay well beyond expectation. The owner was super nice and helpful.
