The Grand Boss Hotel is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Yilan will find that the Grand Boss Hotel is a fantastic accommodation choice. The hotel is only 500m from Yilan Station and 54km from Taipei Songshan Airport, giving guests a number of convenient transportation options. Guests will find Jimmy Park, Dongmen Night Market and Diudiudang Forest just a short distance from the hotel. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. For those driving themselves, parking is provided on site. According to our guests, the location of this hotel is one of the best around. For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.
"Cons: The room had mismatched beds (one large, one small). The overall decor felt very dated, almost from the last century. The room lighting was dim, and the bedside outlets had low voltage, causing power banks and phones to charge extremely slowly. The bathroom was quite small, making it difficult for a larger person to turn around comfortably, and there weren't enough bath mats.
Pros: The location is excellent, directly opposite Dongmen Night Market. There's a McDonald's right next door, and a laundry shop and Watsons are conveniently located nearby. They offer complimentary bicycle rentals, and we even received a thoughtful farewell gift upon check-out. The staff provided excellent service, offering a map and helpful local recommendations."

Located in Luodong, near Luodong Zhongshan Park, Luodong Night Market and Luodong Forestry Culture Park, Happiness YES Hostel features free WiFi. All units feature air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. A bicycle rental service is available at this property. Chung Hsing Cultural and Creative Park is 2.2 km from the homestay. The nearest airport is Taipei Songshan Airport, 49 km from the property.
"A family of 5: the kids enjoyed the room with the slide v much. The 3 queen beds(2 on upper loft) and 1 on lower floor were very comfortable, pillows offered decent support. A fan was provided in room to circulate the air. Kids really enjoyed sliding down but sound proofing of the room not that thick so we were told that the kids were too noisy. The staff were v helpful with the carpark arrangement at a separate site, we didn’t have to worry abt getting a carpark lot on all 3 days.
Not so great: The Minsu’s toilet has no non-slip flooring or bathmats inside so hard to dry the toilet floor after a shower. Shampoo & body soap provided though. No shower curtains. Staff didn’t make up the room although we hung the tag to clean room. They did apologise when we asked abt it.
All in all, a restful stay, with good space for the family with our 2 luggages opened on the sofa. Would recommend if kids are young & would love the slide room. Walking distance to Luodong Night Market too."

"The hotel's location right next to Jiaoxi Train Station is incredibly convenient for travelers arriving by train; you can walk there immediately after exiting the station. The surrounding area offers excellent amenities, with plenty of food and drink options easily accessible, whether it's local snacks, restaurants, or convenience stores.
The hotel boasts comprehensive public facilities, including an open-air hot spring (nude bath), which is very relaxing. There's also a spa, swimming pool, and gym available, making for a rich overall recreational experience. For guests driving, free parking is available downstairs within the hotel.
As for the room, the TV offers Netflix and YouTube, which is convenient for relaxing in the evenings.
Overall, the accommodation quality is decent, though the soundproofing could be better, but it's still acceptable."

"I've stayed at many family-friendly hotels, and honestly, this is the worst one I've ever experienced. The air conditioning in the room was ineffective; the temperature would climb to 29 degrees Celsius in the middle of the night, forcing us to use a fan. The kids' facilities were also terribly disappointing—poor lighting and an awkward layout. The ball pit barely had a single layer of balls. This was a one-time visit; I definitely won't be coming back."

"The boss and his wife have a very good service attitude. I decided to book a room when I saw the Snoopy room. I was not disappointed! ! The room is comfortable, the toilet is large and well ventilated. There is an open space next to it for parking, and it is very convenient to have a gas station opposite. It is also very close to Luodong Night Market in just a few minutes! ! Great! Great!"

"Advantages:
1. Friendly and responsive service.
2. Delicious and plentiful breakfast; the lemon juice was surprisingly good.
3. 24-hour front desk.
Areas for Improvement:
1. The room only has one dressing table and chair. One person was getting ready while another wanted to eat, drink, or relax, but there was nowhere to put food or sit. Adding another table and chair would be convenient.
2. The bedside table only has one outlet. The person on the other side couldn't charge their devices and had to place them near the TV outlet. To put water or small items, the dressing chair had to be pulled to the side of the bed.
3. The bedside table only has USB plugs, and the USB adapter I brought didn't fit the room's, causing poor contact and making it unusable (my USB works fine normally).
4. On the second day of my stay, after using the hot spring bath, I found a lot of dark sediment at the bottom. I suspect it's moldy or dirt coming off the bathtub seal. I suggest paying more attention to cleaning during this time."

With multiple attractions nearby including Yuan Shan Ecological Museum, Jinshan Park and Lipi Lake, guests will find plenty to keep themselves occupied. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. This Yilan hotel features parking on site. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.
"1. The bathtub in the bathroom had cracks, causing the water to drain out, and the sharp edges posed a risk of cuts.
2. Whether it was a pre-booking phone inquiry or check-in communication, the customer service staff consistently used the excuse, ”Because you booked through a third-party platform...” Aren't those third-party bookings still sales made by your hotel? I've recently stayed at IHG group hotels and never experienced such differential treatment. The service quality of the Westin staff needs significant improvement.
3. There was no staff patrolling the women's nude hot spring area. Some guests brought four children who were allowed to play loudly and splash water without anyone intervening, causing discomfort to other guests."
