"While it was a bit challenging to actually find the hotel at the location, once I did, I was told that I had been given an upgrade. I was also given a bag of snacks and later told there was free ice cream down stairs for me. In addition I was given two vouchers. My room was huge. It was a suite with a lounhe, two toilets, a bath and a lovely bed. There was noise from the planes, but it was not that annoying when sleeping. I was also given an airport drop off, which was very useful. I highly recommend this hotel if you want a luxury room near the airport. If you want to go to Kunming city, it was about a 40min taxi ride, but if this is of no issue, I say try this hotel"

"This is a well-established five-star hotel with an excellent location. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the service is friendly. It offers good value for money and is always my top choice when I visit Kunming. It's very convenient for food, accommodation, and getting around. It's just a short walk to Kunming Oriental Plaza, Spring City 66 (the twin towers), Nanqiang Street, Nanping Street, Kunming Old Street, and Shuncheng Shopping Center. The breakfast buffet is extensive, and I highly recommend their flower cakes and 'Crossing the Bridge' noodles – they're delicious! 👍"

"We had a wonderful stay here. My favorite feature was the bay window. It was such a cozy place to relax after a day of exploring. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and they responded to our requests quickly. The room was clean, modern, and well maintained. It had a smart toilet, a powerful hair dryer, a round table, and a small tatami table, which made it convenient for us to enjoy takeaway meals in the room. The location was excellent and very convenient for getting around. Most of the attractions we visited were within easy reach ,abt 30min to every attractions. Ordering food delivery was also very easy, and if you prefer takeaway, there are plenty of restaurants and bubble tea shops downstairs in the shopping mall. Breakfast included Yunnan Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles and Steam Pot Chicken. The noodles were just so-so for my taste, but the chicken was really good. The broth was flavorful with a nice peppery taste. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again when we visit Kunming."

"My stay here was excellent. The front desk staff were very friendly and attentive, and check-in was super efficient. They proactively informed me about the hot spring's opening hours and breakfast times, and even offered helpful tips for exploring the area. The hotel is about 4km from Dianchi Lake, and within a 2km radius, there are plenty of dining and shopping options. The hotel's breakfast spread was incredibly rich, featuring a great mix of Chinese and Western dishes. There were pastries, fruits, desserts, and various beverages. The ingredients were fresh and delicious, and the freshly prepared noodle station served authentic, tasty noodles. The hot spring area was clean and elegant, with a comfortable water temperature. My room was tidy and quiet, with all the necessary amenities. I would definitely choose this hotel again for my next vacation."

"The hotel is conveniently located near the main road, and the front desk is on Level 2. Just like many other hotels in China, they allow early check-in, which is one of my favorite things 😊. However, if you plan to visit Nanping Street, you'll need to book a Didi, as it is not within walking distance."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Stay at Green Lake Hotel – Excellent Location, Service and Food. We had a wonderful stay at Green Lake Hotel in Kunming. The location is absolutely fantastic, right next to the beautiful Green Lake and within easy walking distance of many of Kunming’s attractions, restaurants, and historic areas. It was especially nice to be able to walk around the lake in the morning and evening. Although the hotel has a long history, it is very well maintained and has a classic, elegant atmosphere. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the entire hotel felt welcoming and well cared for. What impressed us most was the service. The staff were genuinely warm, professional, and attentive. Everyone we interacted with made us feel welcome, and they were always willing to help. This level of hospitality really made our stay memorable. We also had an excellent experience at the hotel restaurant. The dining environment is beautiful and elegant, the service is attentive, and the food was very well prepared. We especially enjoyed experiencing the local Yunnan flavors and ingredients. It was one of the highlights of our stay and a very convenient place to enjoy a relaxing meal after sightseeing. Overall, Green Lake Hotel combines an unbeatable location, traditional elegance, excellent service, and very good dining. It has a character that many newer hotels simply don’t have. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily choose this hotel again the next time we visit Kunming. Highly recommended!"

"Traveling with my whole family, the hotel was quite easy to find, and it's close to all the dining and entertainment options nearby. The hotel has a public laundry area, a gym, and a recreation room. The room decor is quite modern, but the downside is that water leaks out of the bathroom, keeping the floor constantly wet. Overall, I'm still quite satisfied."

"Every year for my annual leave, I go traveling, and this year I chose Kunming. I stayed at the Shanhaiyunjing Hotel, and it's truly the most atmospheric hotel I've ever experienced. The hotel's design is incredibly chic; it's like they've brought an entire art gallery right into a hotel by Dianchi Lake – it's absolutely stunning! As soon as you step into the lobby, you're embraced by minimalist artistry. The art installations in the corridors and the succulent landscaping are meticulously composed at every turn, making every snapshot a scenic view. The room offers fantastic views; you can lie in bed and see the Sleeping Beauty Hill. They even thoughtfully provided bath salts by the soaking tub. The butler proactively recommended a route for birdwatching the black-headed gulls, and even the breakfast featured Yunnan specialties like red rice and 'Er Si' (rice noodles). Staying here felt like living in a poetic landscape of mountains and seas. Next time I'm in Kunming, I'll definitely choose this place again!"

The courtyard greenery is artfully arranged, and thoughtful little ornaments meticulously placed by the owner can be found in every corner, revealing a unique aesthetic. The cleaning was meticulous; there were no residual water stains or dust in window frame crevices or bathroom corners. The bedding felt soft and skin-friendly, and the mattress firmness was just right. The blackout curtains effectively blocked out external light, and the fatigue from days of travel completely dissipated with a good night's sleep. The bathroom featured a dry-wet separation, and the 24-hour hot water supply was stable with ample water pressure. The toiletries were thoughtfully chosen, genuinely showing the hotel's willingness to invest in areas that aren't immediately visible. What touched me most was the staff's perfectly balanced service. They were warm and sincere, with a friendly and approachable attitude during check-in, which was efficient and streamlined, avoiding an overly enthusiastic demeanor that might feel stifling. Special mention goes to Ms. Xiao Yan at the front desk; she was incredibly patient and wonderful! Everything I needed was promptly delivered to my room, and she meticulously explained the surrounding dining and entertainment options. This young lady was fantastic from our initial phone inquiry to check-in and check-out. I highly recommend this hotel; it truly maximizes emotional value. My pre-noted personal preferences were carefully remembered, and thoughtful gestures like extra pillows and readily available charging ports, though simple, were incredibly heartwarming. For daily inquiries about travel routes or local delicacies, the staff patiently provided exclusive local recommendations, helping us avoid crowded tourist traps. There were no hidden fees throughout my stay, and the pricing was genuinely fair. Compared to generic chain hotels, this place offered a rare human touch and warmth. It was an excellent stay, and I've quietly added it to my re-visit list. For future travels, I will prioritize this place again and sincerely recommend it to travelers who prefer a quiet and sophisticated accommodation experience."

"Firstly, the hotel's location is excellent, right next to MixC shopping mall. There are plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and shops on Minhang Road and Chajie, and the surrounding streets are bustling. It's also quite close to Cuihu Lake. Secondly, the hotel breakfast offers a wide variety of choices. Thirdly, despite being street-facing, our room was relatively quiet. The housekeeper on the twelfth floor was very thorough, meticulous, and efficient. However, the female front desk staff were incredibly inefficient. Check-in was very slow, and they lacked any customer service awareness, acting as if they didn't even see guests. Even when guests greeted them, saying ”hello,” the staff wouldn't respond, just staring blankly like robots. What was most incomprehensible was their rude demeanor. When I inquired about room availability and prices, the female staff member was extremely cold and spoke with obvious impatience. She simply stated that it was peak season and the listed price was high, giving off a ”take it or leave it” vibe when addressing guests who booked through Ctrip. She made no effort to patiently explain or offer any alternative options. This lack of service awareness and stiff communication significantly lowered the overall stay experience and negatively impacted the hotel's brand image (as the front desk is the hotel's face). It's clear that the front desk staff lack consistent service standards, maintaining a cold attitude throughout. It's unclear if they've received proper training. I initially had a good impression of the hotel otherwise and planned to stay for four nights, but encountering a hotel front desk that treats guests so poorly made me want to leave as soon as possible to avoid further frustration. Kunming is a city known for its spring-like weather and warm people, and I was disappointed to have that positive impression tarnished by this hotel. I hope the platform will inform the hotel to strengthen the most basic ”communication,” ”etiquette,” and ”facial expression management” training for its female front desk staff."
