"I was on a business trip in Yunnan and had a layover at Kunming Changshui Airport when I stumbled upon the City Mark Hotel, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Its proximity to the airport is fantastic – less than six kilometers away. We only found out upon arrival that the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service. After a quick call, a car was there to pick us up within ten minutes, which was incredibly convenient. The hotel service is excellent, with complimentary tea, drinks, and even ice cream available in the lobby. The staff were warm and attentive, and they even upgraded our room when we checked in. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and equipped with smart amenities. The surrounding area also has plenty of conveniences, from authentic Yunnan restaurants to souvenir shops. Overall, it’s great value for money! I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I fly through Kunming."

"Five stars, highly recommended! This is an old, established state guesthouse in Kunming that you absolutely must stay at. Its heritage, views, and service are all top-notch. The location is unbeatable, directly facing Cuihu Park. Open the French windows and you're greeted with lake views and weeping willows. In autumn and winter, you can even spot red-billed gulls. Yunnan University and the Yunnan Military Academy are within walking distance, making it convenient for exploring the old city without much travel. The hotel's design was partly conceived by I.M. Pei, blending new Chinese style with retro Art Deco. The lobby's gilded lotus sculpture, rosewood carvings, and vintage staircase create an incredible ambiance. The gardens are tranquil and elegant, and every photo you take captures the unique, understated elegance of a historic five-star hotel. Service is gentle, understated, and perfectly balanced, never intrusive. Upon check-in, guests receive fresh flowers and welcome fruits, and the room is refreshed daily with Yunnan-style floral arrangements. Turndown service includes peach gum and white fungus soup, along with seagull-shaped cookies – thoughtful details that truly shine. The 24-hour butler service is on-call, and staff members politely greet guests, always professional and sincere. The room comfort exceeded expectations. The bedding is soft and plush, and the soundproofing is excellent. During the dry season, the whole-house humidity control system is a lifesaver, especially for those with allergies. The bathroom features a built-in TV in the bathtub and electric privacy glass. All mini-bar drinks are complimentary, and there's even freshly ground Yunnan small-grain coffee, adding a distinct local touch. Breakfast is served in the lake-view restaurant, offering a rich variety of authentic dishes, including freshly prepared Crossing-the-Bridge Noodles, 'posu bao' (flaky steamed buns), and rose 'naiba Jiu' (a local milky wine). Dining by the lake creates an exceptional atmosphere. The accompanying heated pool is clean and uncrowded, perfect for relaxation. Whether for business or leisure, this hotel is perfectly suited. Its century-old refined quality is irreplaceable. I will definitely choose Cuihu Hotel again on my next visit to Kunming!"

"To ensure everything went smoothly for my child's middle school entrance exam (at Kunming No. 12 Middle School), we chose to stay at Fengdu Hotel. Our stay felt very much like 'home.' The room's facilities, cleanliness, and the staff's service attitude were incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and on-point. My child particularly enjoyed the smart features in the room. The hotel showed great consideration for exam candidates, from room assignments (smoke-free, quiet) to breakfast (light, varied, and well-suited for a balanced meal) and even late check-out – all aspects demonstrated genuine human care. "The hotel is conveniently located near the main road, and the front desk is on Level 2. Just like many other hotels in China, they allow early check-in, which is one of my favorite things 😊. However, if you plan to visit Nanping Street, you'll need to book a Didi, as it is not within walking distance."

"This is a well-established five-star hotel with an excellent location. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the service is friendly. It offers good value for money and is always my top choice when I visit Kunming. It's very convenient for food, accommodation, and getting around. It's just a short walk to Kunming Oriental Plaza, Spring City 66 (the twin towers), Nanqiang Street, Nanping Street, Kunming Old Street, and Shuncheng Shopping Center. The breakfast buffet is extensive, and I highly recommend their flower cakes and 'Crossing the Bridge' noodles – they're delicious! 👍"

"We had a wonderful stay here. My favorite feature was the bay window. It was such a cozy place to relax after a day of exploring. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and they responded to our requests quickly. The room was clean, modern, and well maintained. It had a smart toilet, a powerful hair dryer, a round table, and a small tatami table, which made it convenient for us to enjoy takeaway meals in the room. The location was excellent and very convenient for getting around. Most of the attractions we visited were within easy reach ,abt 30min to every attractions. Ordering food delivery was also very easy, and if you prefer takeaway, there are plenty of restaurants and bubble tea shops downstairs in the shopping mall. Breakfast included Yunnan Crossing-the-Bridge Rice Noodles and Steam Pot Chicken. The noodles were just so-so for my taste, but the chicken was really good. The broth was flavorful with a nice peppery taste. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again when we visit Kunming."

"The Shanhaijing Cloudland Hotel, a design haven by Dianchi Lake. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer a direct view of the Sleeping Beauty Mountain, with breathtaking morning mist and evening sunsets. The rooms are smart and comfortable, and the scenic bathtub is amazing. The infinity pool reflects the mountains, and the rooftop terrace is perfect for watching the sunset. The service is attentive, they provide mountain bikes, and it's near the wetlands – a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. A must-stay for a vacation in Kunming, highly recommended!"

Their meticulous service made me feel incredibly cared for and completely relieved the fatigue of my journey. While the room's hardware facilities are in a simple, home-style, they are complete and highly practical. The bed is neither too soft nor too firm, and the pillows are soft and comfortable, ensuring an excellent night's sleep. It's especially quiet at night, with excellent soundproofing, completely blocking out noise from the corridor and outside, allowing me to sleep soundly every night. The air conditioning provides excellent heating and cooling, with a gentle airflow and sensitive temperature control, so I could always adjust it to a comfortable state. The high-speed Wi-Fi signal was strong throughout the room, and the internet speed was stable and smooth, perfect for streaming, working, or gaming without any lag – a truly great experience. Additionally, essential amenities such as an HD TV, a separate desk, a hairdryer, disposable toiletries, and an electric kettle were all provided and in perfect working order. The attention to detail was impressive, fully meeting all daily needs. The hotel offers exceptional value for money. Compared to other hotels in the same area and price range, this independent hotel far surpasses them in terms of environment, hygiene, and service. There are no hidden fees; pricing is transparent and fair, making for a pure and pleasant stay. The overall atmosphere is warm and comfortable, clean, quiet, hassle-free, and thoughtful. It's perfectly suited for solo business trips, couples' getaways, friends traveling together, or short family stays. This stay was truly faultless, and I sincerely recommend it to everyone!
