"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hard 5/5! As a girl travelling solo for the first time, I felt very safe staying and had a lot of fun. Even though it’s a hostel, the environment was comfortable and welcoming. One thing I really appreciated was the international power outlets, which was a huge plus for me. The hostel also offers transportation services to certain attractions and activities, making it very convenient for travellers. The location is excellent — being right next to Chunxi Road meant I could easily explore the city, try local food, and enjoy the area on foot. A special shoutout to the front desk staff, who were incredibly friendly and always happy to recommend places to visit. Their English was excellent as well, which made communication very easy. I would highly recommend this hostel to international travellers. If I visit Chengdu again, I would definitely choose to stay here again! ❤️✨"

"Overall pretty clean and the location is very convenient. Very close to the metro station and many food options nearby. I stayed here for the laundry machine. Laundry detergent was provided but not enough. It took like 4 to 5 hours to dry the clothes completely after wash cycle. Front desk service was not that responsive and took a very long time to reply and get things done. It was confusing cause no one was there and unresponsive to the signs with directions (call or message)."

"The location is fantastic! Lan Kwai Fong bar street is right across the road. If you walk to the end of Lan Kwai Fong and cross the street, you'll reach Jiuyan Bridge. After crossing the beautiful covered bridge on Jiuyan Bridge, you're directly opposite the famous Jiuyan Bridge bar street again. Downstairs from the Airbnb, there's a supermarket and snack shops. It's a short walk to Taikoo Li, IFS, and other places, and you'll find delicious food all along the way – you'll arrive before you even know it. It's also very close to the subway station. For Tianfu Square, I recommend taking the subway; it's only ¥1.7 per person. Taking a taxi can be frustrating due to traffic and a waste of time. For Sanxingdui and the Panda Base, I suggest booking a tour with pick-up service; it doesn't cost much more and is super convenient. There's also a package collection point downstairs, so you don't have to worry about missing deliveries if you're out. The host is incredibly nice and checked in daily to see if we needed anything."

"Before I went, I read the reviews, especially the negative ones. The most common complaints were about hygiene (the most exaggerated one even mentioned ticks in the bedding) and soundproofing. I decided to book it anyway, just to try it out. Here's my experience: 1. **Hygiene:** It was clean, and they cleaned daily and replenished disposables. 2. **Soundproofing:** I didn't encounter any of the issues mentioned in the negative reviews. Maybe there was no one upstairs or downstairs, or perhaps everyone was considerate. 3. **Convenient Transportation:** Right downstairs is Hongxing Bridge Station. It's a 3-minute walk from the hotel, which is a huge advantage in Chengdu, especially during holidays when traffic is a nightmare – those who know, know. Taxis are cheap in Chengdu, but that doesn't help when you're stuck in traffic. 4. **Decent Service:** This depends on your perspective. First, you need to understand that the front desk staff can be busy. Second, it depends on whether they can promptly address your requests. Communicating through Trip.com was difficult, but talking directly to the front desk was very smooth. The front desk lady even recommended some great food, and she didn't disappoint. Overall, it was still OK. The picture shows the walk I took following the recommendation from the front desk lady."

"Facilities: Perfect. Fully equipped with everything you could need. Hygiene: Perfect. Very clean, spotless. Environment: Perfect. Excellent location with convenient transportation. Service: Perfect. Top-notch service, and all staff members were very polite. Overall, it was a truly perfect stay. The hotel is incredibly convenient, located right across the street from Exit A of Chunxi Road subway station. It's also very easy to get to and from Chengdu East Station, Chengdu South Station, Shuangliu Airport, Dujiangyan, Sanxingdui, and Jiaozi Park."

"Here's my review of the Chengdu Backpacker Ten Years Hostel (Branch 1): 👏Pros: 1. The atmosphere is genuinely great. The ground floor feels like a small bar where you can grab food and juice, and there’s a professional singer playing guitar. 2. The public area on the second floor is fantastic. It's cleverly designed with separate quiet and lively zones, divided by glass. There's a pool table, a board game room, and excellent areas for working or studying. 3. The decor is lovely, from the corridors to the rooms and especially the bathrooms, which are excellent. They provide disposable toilet seat covers and tissues, and all toilets are Western-style. 4. Step out of the hostel’s ground floor entrance, and you’re right on a street bustling with various eateries. Plenty of delicious food options, very convenient. 5. They offer a free bottle of mineral water, thick bath towels, and slippers. 6. The room itself is very quiet. 🙌Cons: 1. Toiletries are not provided and must be purchased if needed. 2. The room was cluttered with items belonging to long-term guests. 3. Long-term guests hung their wet clothes in the room, and some had an unpleasant smell. 4. The bathroom floor drain was slow, causing water to pool on the floor. When showering, my feet would be constantly in standing water. Also, the shower head holder was loose, so it kept sagging, making showering difficult. The clothes in the bathroom were hung on the door behind a waterproof curtain, but the curtain was perhaps too long and touched the floor, soaking up a lot of water at the bottom. When I pulled the curtain aside to grab my clothes after showering, they fell directly onto the wet floor. 5. The front desk staff lacked a proactive service mindset. I had a large suitcase, and there were steps and a glass door to navigate. Several staff members watched me struggle without offering any help. 6. There was an issue with the centralized shoe lockers. My small locker compartment was occupied by someone else's shoes, indicating shoes were left haphazardly. Shoes were also allowed into the rooms. The centralized shoe lockers didn't have locks, and many people left their shoes on top of the lockers or under the shoe-changing bench. The shoe-changing area had a strong, unpleasant odor of shoes and socks, making it difficult to breathe. 7. Long-term stays can only be paid for through online platforms; there are no discounts, and offline payment isn't an option! (Of course, I understand this might be due to platform rules). 8. The room's Wi-Fi speed wasn't great. Sending a message (especially a screenshot) in the bathroom took several seconds to go through. Backpackers, for such a big brand, can you please upgrade your Wi-Fi speed? It's worse than some hostels costing around 30-40 yuan. 9. The light wire above the bed was poorly repaired and protruded unsightly! It just dangled there; it should be tucked away better! ☘️Final thoughts: I sincerely hope Backpacker Ten Years continues to improve. Management should thoroughly inspect the hostel's services and facilities for the owner. Otherwise, some minor issues might go unnoticed for a long time if guests don't point them out! After all, you are a nationally renowned hostel, known as the 'ceiling' of the hostel industry! You should live up to the affection people have for you and your 'hostel ceiling' reputation! I look forward to improvements, and I hope to visit again!"

The decor is a minimalist, gentle modern style with soft, appealing color schemes. The headboard features layered wood paneling paired with ambient strip lighting. In the evening, turning off the main lights and leaving just this warm glow creates a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Lying quietly on the bed feels incredibly soothing. The bedding quality is truly impeccable; the pure white linens feel soft and skin-friendly, and the pillows are just the right firmness. My neck and waist felt perfectly comfortable after a long day of travel, allowing me to fall asleep instantly and get a beautiful night's rest. The room's natural lighting is also a huge plus. The window is fitted with thick blackout curtains. During the day, opening them lets in abundant light, and the outdoor view is expansive, showing street buildings. If you want to sleep in, drawing the curtains completely blocks out light, ensuring you won't be disturbed by the morning brightness. The wall-mounted air conditioning unit provides quick cooling and heating, with stable temperature control that avoids sudden temperature shifts. It operates with minimal noise at night, completely undisturbed. The pipework is also neatly arranged, avoiding any cluttered look. Next, I want to mention the thoughtful details. There are conveniently placed charging outlets beside the bed. When checking in, I could easily place my phone, power bank, and AC remote on the bed and plug in charging cables without searching for outlets. This is incredibly convenient for anyone traveling with a lot of electronic devices. The spatial layout is rational, with a spacious and uncrowded bed area, ample room for walking and luggage. The entire room was spotlessly clean; there were no stains or dust on the walls or cabinets. The hygiene standards are very high, clearly showing the cleaning staff's meticulous work. I'd also like to touch on the bathroom area (referring to the actual photos of the bathroom). The wet and dry separation design is very practical. The thermostatic dual-flow shower provides ample water, with both a rain shower and handheld modes, leaving you feeling completely refreshed after a shower. The waterproof wood-grain panels on the walls are clean and crisp, and the floor is equipped with a non-slip drainage grate, along with prominent 'wet floor' safety signs, demonstrating thorough consideration for safety. The toilet is clean and odor-free, and the vanity is fully stocked with refillable toiletry bottles, providing all necessary toiletries so you don't need to bring your own – a one-stop solution for all your washing needs. "Extremely comfortable! The room was super spacious and bright, and the decor was really pleasant. Other hotels in Chengdu are often incredibly cramped, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much this last-minute switch exceeded my expectations. It's excellent value for money. There's a small balcony, which was super convenient for washing and drying clothes. The only downside was the downstairs parking garage – it's really narrow and difficult to park in, plus it's a bit pricey (though parking elsewhere in Chengdu is also tight, and for its location next to Taikoo Li, the price is actually reasonable)."
