"We absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City. The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions. What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere. A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of. Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases. For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us. Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨"

"I rarely write positive reviews, but I think this place deserves one! I booked the room around 11 PM the night before. After comparing many guesthouses in the area, I found this one. A 90+ square meter sea-view suite for only 600+ RMB! Plus, there's only one room per floor, so you don't have to worry about being disturbed. The value is absolutely amazing!!! The room has a super spacious sea view and even a bathtub. Taking a bath while looking at Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake—it's simply divine! As someone who loves ambiance, this place is perfect for me. 🤩 Because I arrived late, the front desk staff waited for me and even helped me with my luggage. They really appreciate the attention to detail. 🥹 Breakfast is right downstairs! 💯 Full marks! Highly recommended!!!"

"what a lovely stay. hosts were super friendly, flexible, and even invited me to a home cooked dinner. boss gave me a free upgrade out of kindness. views from the third floor room are stunning, better than anything from the old town or west shore. cleanliness is top notch and the room has everything you need. highly recommended for anybody looking for somewhere to rewind for a few days (or weeks…). 希望老板不介意我留个满分的评价😚"

"The environment was great, very clean, and smelled wonderful as soon as you opened the door. The scenery was beautiful; you could see Erhai Lake as soon as you drew the curtains in the morning. I initially thought the soundproofing might be a bit poor, but it was surprisingly quiet, perfect for people who like to sleep in. The receptionist was very gentle and had a super friendly attitude. Breakfast was delivered to the room, and it was a nice touch that she didn't knock too early, which was a big plus. The owner is also very handsome and incredibly kind; he was very welcoming and even took us to the car rental place, helping us negotiate the price to prevent us from being overcharged. A very good experience overall (the owner's friend is also very handsome)."

"The location is excellent and the transportation is convenient. It takes 10 minutes to get to the airport. The boss will pick you up personally. Facilities: Very complete Hygiene: Very clean and tidy Environment: Comfortable environment, the best choice for watching the sea Service: The boss answered all our questions and very carefully introduced to us how to visit Erhai Lake. He also introduced us to all the routes and scenic spots."

"The environment here is fantastic, and the owner is incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Seeing that we were all women, she helped us with our luggage and even moved us to a different room. She also proactively provided extra face towels. She was always available when we needed her, and she even double-checked rooms after housekeeping cleaned them. Highly recommend! "An absolutely wonderful stay! First off, the facilities: the room design is very tasteful, the bedding is comfortable, and the attention to detail is impressive. The window offers a stunning view – misty mountains in the morning and a starry night sky with the moon. Just the view alone is incredibly therapeutic. What's truly exceptional is the ambiance; it really allows you to unwind. The guesthouse owner is very hospitable, providing pick-up and drop-off services, helping with luggage, and recommending great places to eat and visit. Sitting down with the owner for tea and a chat was incredibly refreshing. This stay exceeded all my expectations; it was truly worth the trip."

"Very cost-effective sea view room. From the moment I walked in, I was attracted by the large viewing balcony. The view was very good. You can watch the sunset. There are lounge chairs, swings and countless succulents. The room is quiet and soundproof. The hygiene is great. The supporting facilities are also very complete. The toothpaste is from Shuke, the toothbrush is very soft, and the comb is also made of wood. It is really a surprise. Breakfast is rice noodles and hot milk. I personally feel that it tastes better than the rice noodles in the ancient city. The owner of the B&B is very enthusiastic, attentive and thoughtful, and he makes good tea. Sitting in the courtyard of the B&B and tasting the tea made by the owner himself is really enjoyable"

"Great! The inn I stayed in this time really gave me a big surprise! From the moment I walked in, I felt the warmth of home. The decoration style of the inn is simple but stylish, and every detail reveals the owner's care. The room is spacious and bright, and the bed is soft and comfortable, which made me sleep well all night. The most worth mentioning is the service of the inn. The owner and the staff are very warm and friendly. They patiently answered our various questions and provided us with a lot of suggestions for surrounding tours."

"The room is large and has a projector. It is very comfortable to lie on the bed and watch movies at night. After check-in, the housekeeper will greet you at the door in advance and help you take your luggage upstairs. When you check out, you will also be escorted out. It is very convenient to order takeout and deliver it to the room. The entrance is about ten minutes walk from the ancient city. It is also very convenient to take a taxi to the hotel entrance. The hotel is in a villa area on the edge of the ancient city. The community environment is very good. It is very quiet at night and is suitable for people who have trouble sleeping. The breakfast aunt made it Bonus points for the rice noodles and fried chicken. The boss enthusiastically recommends tourist routes!"
