Staying at this guesthouse was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Zhangjiajie. We were traveling with our 4-year-old child, and the main purpose of our journey was to visit Zhangjiajie National Park — and this place made the experience absolutely unforgettable. From the very beginning, the service was exceptional. The atmosphere feels warm, welcoming, and genuinely family-like. You are treated not just as a guest, but as a truly valued part of the household. Since we were traveling with a child, we were kindly offered a two-bedroom apartment — an incredible gesture that made our stay exceptionally comfortable. The sleep quality deserves special praise: the bedding, pillows, and blankets are all of the highest standard. You sink into sleep as if you were staying in a top luxury hotel. The interior is beautifully designed — a tasteful blend of East and West, with great attention to detail. Everything, from the bathroom fixtures to the toiletries, is carefully chosen and of excellent quality. The staff’s kindness and care deserve a separate mention. Our “auntie” was available for us at any moment through a private WeChat group, ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was freshly prepared every morning, and the chef is simply outstanding. All meals are Chinese cuisine, cooked with love, and always adapted to our child’s preferences. We ended up having dinner at the guesthouse every night because it felt like home-cooked comfort food. The location is another huge advantage — only a 5-minute drive to the Southeast Gate of Zhangjiajie National Park, which is the most convenient entrance with the best choice of routes. The guesthouse provided transfers to the park and also arranged our pick-up from the airport in advance. The property has 17 rooms of different sizes — one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, some with terraces overlooking spectacular scenery. The guesthouse is set in a peaceful and picturesque area where you can take short walks, observe local village life, and enjoy stunning views from every angle. Overall, this place made our trip truly special. It combines comfort, warmth, thoughtful service, and a perfect location. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Zhangjiajie — you will feel at home, cared for, and surrounded by beauty. This hotel is absolutely fantastic! The front desk staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. Breakfast was abundant and delicious. I especially want to commend Ms. Qu Xianlin, a server in the restaurant, for her exceptionally thoughtful and enthusiastic service. She personally brought us coffee and fruit, which I found very touching. Thank you, staff of Sunshine Hotel! The bedding was comfortable, and the room was spacious and very clean. I'll definitely come back if I have the chance.

Wonderful stay! Everyone was really kind, organized both our airport pickup and the drop off back to the city for free (which we did not expect). And most importantly, spent time to design a one day itinerary for us so we could see the best parts of the park with limited time. The place is only a 5-10 minute walk to the entrance which was awesome! They also kindly upgraded us to the 360 degree view room, which was incredible. I posted the view from the terrace, really lovely to wake up to this view every morning. The one thing I would say is bring an eye mask. With all the lovely big windows it does get pretty bright early in the morning. It didn't bother us since we had to wake up early to visit the park. Overall I'd say it was perfect and pretty much everything we could've wanted

I originally just booked a room, but ended up inviting friends for a spontaneous KTV session at the hotel. It was a fantastic experience! The KTV room had excellent ventilation, so it never felt stuffy or smoky. The large screen had clear picture quality, and the microphones had plenty of battery life. The selection of snacks and drinks was extensive, and the prices were very reasonable with no hidden markups. The soundproofing was exceptional – absolutely no worries about disturbing other guests. The service was attentive; they greeted us warmly when we arrived and left, and any minor equipment issues were immediately addressed and fixed. The environment was comfortable, the equipment worked perfectly, and overall, I was extremely satisfied!

Absolutely wonderful accommodation! The staff was very helpful and assisted us in purchasing tickets for Tianmen Mountain and the National Park. The location is excellent, close to pleasant restaurants and Tianmen Mountain, while the National Park is about a 40-minute drive away (via DiDi). Most importantly: the views from the mountain-facing rooms are breathtaking! It is a wonderful feeling to wake up to such a view!

Staying here during a holiday, the noise from planes taking off and landing was incredibly loud and continued until 11:30 PM. On top of that, the soundproofing in the room was terrible. I could clearly hear people walking and dragging luggage upstairs, and since there's no elevator, the noise from suitcases being dragged down the stairs in the morning was especially jarring. From 11:30 PM to 6:30 AM, there was constant noise from people getting up and moving around, plus there was construction happening nearby. I barely got any sleep all night. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place for light sleepers who need peace and quiet. As for cleanliness, this is the only hotel I've ever stayed in where I didn't even feel like putting on makeup because everything was so dirty. The sink was grimy, the shelf next to it was dirty – it clearly hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. The baseboards and corners looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years, and the toilet bowl wasn't even wiped dry. The room layout was very impractical. It was already small, but half of it was awkwardly partitioned off as a tea room, making it difficult to even find space for luggage. The pebble-covered area was completely useless. Plus, there was a step by the bed at night, which felt quite unsafe. The only positive was that the owner was genuinely nice, offering airport pick-up and drop-off, and being generally friendly. However, I don't think this place is suitable to be run as a guesthouse.

Staying at Forest homestay was the best decision we could have made during our trip to China. The service was truly 5 star. The staff at the lodge are so kind, helpful and efficient. We got personalised itineraries each day that changed a lot based on the weather, which was quite mixed! I was very impressed by their efficiency and flexibility. Each day we were driven to and from the park gate (for free). Pickup was within a couple of mins of us messaging that we were ready to leave. All of the staff were wonderful, but Guo Pu was a standout from our trip. Not only did he cart us around and respond to any questions via WeChat within minutes, but he made sure we got the most out of our time there - he pulled fruit from fruit trees at the lodge for us to eat, showed us the various animals they keep onsite, and took photos of us at the sky mirror. He was really great at giving instructions for getting the best effects! (Photos attached) The room was superb - lots of great features like a heated air function in the shower that was helpful for drying off wet clothes after we got caught in a downpour. The room is a rustic style and there’s a few places that could do with a lick of paint and tidying up, but this added more to the rustic charm! The view really was incredible. The location of the lodge might first seem far from the action of the park, but trust me, this is a blessing in disguise! The park gets incredibly busy, especially around Yuanjiajie. The busyness really can ruin the natural beauty. Being close to the Westgate allows you to access the park from the most uncommon direction which is actually marvellous as it means you are less likely to get caught up in crowds and queues as you are travelling around the park in the opposite direction of the vast majority of the tourists. This really makes a difference and maximising the time that you have in the park. Because of the mixed weather, we ended up travelling most of the top sights in the park again on the single good weather day and this worked really well because of our direction of travel. The Westgate is much quieter and the surrounding area is much more peaceful than the busy area around the east gates. This allows you to really enjoy the peace and beauty of nature when you aren’t exploring the park. I would highly recommend staying here when you visit Zhangjiajie, and I’d like to thank all of the staff for such a magical and amazing time.

Harmona resort and spa hotel is amazing place for rest. Very comfortable, clean. Service is great. Daily cleaning. Personal is very polite. Resting here, we have really enjoyed. View is top beautiful. It is a little far from city, but it is worthy to stay here, landscape is unbelievable. Who is tired of city mess, it is ideal place for retreating.

Our stay at this lodge was absolutely unforgettable. The views were simply breathtaking, waking up and looking out over such beautiful scenery was an experience in itself. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed, which made the whole stay feel so relaxing and comfortable. Also really close to the park and they even offered a free shuttle to the park. The food was also outstanding, with every meal being fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Most of all, this lodge was the perfect place to unwind and relax. The peaceful atmosphere combined with the amazing surroundings made it a truly special getaway. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing escape with incredible views and exceptional hospitality.

Overall, extremely satisfied! My friends and I booked four rooms for two nights for a trip during the Qingming Festival, and on the very first day, we were all marveling at finding such a delightful and comfortable guesthouse. The location is excellent, close to the main road Wuling Avenue, and just a short walk further up to the central gate of the Forest Park. The views are superb; situated on a hillside, facing north to south, you can enjoy stunning sunsets and the sight of misty green mountains. The environment is beautiful; both inside and outside the courtyard are meticulously maintained, making every snap a picturesque scene. The accommodation is great; the rooms are spacious and clean, the bedding is comfortable, and the kids loved it. What's more, despite being nestled by the mountain, there was no musty smell during the Qingming season; it was quite dry. The service is exceptional; both the owner and other staff members were warm and polite. On a rainy day, they even placed umbrellas by our doors early in the morning. In the evenings, we gathered around the stove in the lobby for tea, with the children roasting cured meats, sausages, and sticky rice cakes. Finally, I must praise the owner's breakfast – it was plentiful and delicious! And the black chicken soup for dinner was absolutely amazing!
