"We had a beautiful stay at Secret Courtyard Resort Hotel! The hotel is beautiful, well equipped with everything we needed - fresh water and towels everyday, option to chose between Chinese and Western breakfast and delicious fruits.
Xiaoming was so nice to give us the e-bikes to drive around Guilin for free and we enjoyed using them a lot!
If we had any questions about the area or needed a ticket for the li yang river cruise he immediately took care of it for us.
We had also had a pickup from the train station so we didn’t need to find the way to the resort on our own.
It was a wonderful stay.

The location is equally impressive, facing Fir Lake and adjacent to Elephant Trunk Hill (Xiangbi Shan) to the south and Solitary Beauty Peak (Duxiu Feng) to the north. The surrounding gardens and woods are also very nice. A stellar view of the city is found on the balcony on the 13th and 14th floors, but all rooms and suites offer good views of Guilin's spectacularly photogenic scenery.Thirteen restaurants serving both Chinese and Western foods won't disappoint. The large conference room (seating 400) will also come in handy if you happen to be in Guilin for business rather than pleasure and need to host a large meeting or function.
"The hotel is within walking distance to scenic spots like Elephant Trunk Hill and Jingjiang Palace, and right next to ZhengYang Pedestrian Street, making it super convenient to find food. You take an escalator up to the second floor, and the atrium with its high ceiling feels really grand. The 17th-floor rooftop offers fantastic photo opportunities with the Twin Pagodas and Elephant Trunk Hill. The rooms are quite spacious, though the shower is a bit small, and the hotel shows its age a little."

The Seven Star Scenic Area features calligraphy inscriptions by historical figures, Elephant Trunk Hill Park, and the riverside scenery of Yangshuo, perfect for nature photography enthusiasts. Local cuisine, represented by restaurants like Gouweiwang and Agan Hotel, mainly focuses on fish. Breakfast includes rice noodles with braised sauce and glutinous rice – every restaurant has a great flavor, you can't go wrong. It proved to be an excellent choice; the hotel's location is superb, right by the attractions. The butler added us on WeChat beforehand, sent us a中文 and English guide, and arranged airport pickup. As for the accommodation, the room was very spacious, new, and extremely comfortable, with attention to every detail. I'm really looking forward to visiting Guilin myself and staying here too."

"The location is excellent! It's super easy to get a taxi no matter where you're going, and it's right next to Dongxi Alley, which has tons of food and drinks. There are also plenty of delivery options nearby. The staff's service attitude is fantastic; they always help with luggage after check-in, and they pay great attention to detail in every aspect. They always greet you when you return to the hotel at night, and even help with luggage after check-out. The service is truly top-notch! The room I stayed in had a tatami mat, and it was so soft – perfect for enjoying a cup of tea. The mattress was also very comfortable and soft, and the AC had plenty of airflow. They were always willing to accommodate any other requests. This hotel is genuinely great; they even contact you in advance before your stay to ask about any needs you might have. They even gave us a small gift when we left 🎁. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Guilin."

There are places around where you can have a delicious meal and take a nice walk. It can be noisy at night, the window overlooked the roadway, but it was quiet after 11 a.m. Thanks to the hotel. PPipajiKicking off our spring break, we headed south through Guilin, Yangshuo, Nanning, and Beihai. Yangshuo Wangjianglou Inn was by far the most comfortable and convenient place we stayed. The inn's design and layout exceeded my expectations; the quality was truly impressive. Given the limitations of the building itself, they ingeniously installed a luggage elevator, which was incredibly thoughtful for both guests and staff – big thumbs up! Yangshuo county is quite small, so there's really no need to stay directly in the scenic area (it's inconvenient, overpriced, and you'd need taxis for meals and transportation, adding to costs). Staying in the West Street commercial district was a very smart decision. We stayed and ate at Wangjianglou (for those who know, their restaurant is a super popular, must-try spot in Yangshuo with long queues!). As a guest, you don't have to wait; the front desk concierge helps with reservations directly, and you even get a 10% discount on meals, which is a fantastic deal. I'm already planning to bring my family back after May Day and will definitely be staying at Wangjianglou again!

Choosing the right accommodation truly elevated our Yangshuo trip, and the Yangshuo Xishi Jinshe (Shili Gallery Yulong River Store) is a divine hotel nestled amidst the mountains and rivers. Our experience was absolutely perfect from start to finish – I wholeheartedly recommend it!
Before I dive into the review, I have to praise the service. It was thoughtful, warm, attentive, and considerate throughout our stay, making us feel incredibly cherished. 🥰
The hotel's location is absolutely stunning, right by the Qinglong Bridge on the Yulong River. From the large floor-to-ceiling window next to our bed, we had direct views of the continuous karst peaks and the gently flowing Yulong River, with bamboo rafts slowly drifting by our window. Every glance offered a picturesque, ink-wash painting-like scene. The design is simple yet sophisticated, blending perfectly with the natural landscape. The super-large floor-to-ceiling windows, courtyard lawn, and the rooftop 'sky mirror' all provided perfect photo opportunities. The environment is serene and peaceful, completely away from the hustle and bustle, creating an incredibly immersive atmosphere.
I must commend the service again; it was exceptionally thoughtful, offering full butler-style service. Every front desk staff member was enthusiastic and meticulous, always ready to assist with any questions. The attention to detail was impeccable, making the entire experience relaxing and heartwarming. We initially booked for only two nights, planning to try another hotel for a different view, but we were so touched by the service that we extended our stay for another two nights. The service was truly exceptional.
The downstairs restaurant exceeded our expectations. The ingredients were fresh and authentic. The Guilin rice noodles, beer fish, and braised chicken 🐓 were all delicious, and the eggplant 🍆 and green beans were incredibly fragrant. We had dinner there four times in a row, and each meal was satisfying and enjoyable; our whole family loved the food.
The hotel's infinity pool offers direct views of the beautiful mountains and rivers. Our children spent several afternoons playing there. The area around the pool is comfortable and well-equipped, allowing adults to relax and enjoy the scenery while the kids have fun.
It was a truly healing and immersive experience amidst the mountains and rivers. The environment, service, dining, and facilities were all top-notch. Whether for a relaxing getaway or a family trip, this is definitely a treasure choice for a stay in Yangshuo!

MMimosaRA lovely place for staycation. It was so serene and the view, looking at the rice terraces, replenishes one’s soul and relaxes not just your eyes but your whole body. I love the position of the bath tub overlooking the rice terraces and the nearby osmanthus trees. Morning walk along the path and seeing the ready smile of the locals was sweet. The bed and pillow are comfy and clean. Had we stayed for more than 2 nights, I would have used the washing machine in our room 😉 We had our breakfast, not much options but filling, and dinner (not included in the booking fee and the food in the menu are freshly cooked once you order) at the hotel’s restaurant. The hotel staff are accommodating. They even helped us arrange a car to bring us to and from the hotel. Free use of traditional costume for pictorial.

CCHRISTIAN YONATHAN SILLUETAI had a truly unforgettable stay here! The staff is incredibly responsive and attentive. A huge shout out to our butler, Mayling Cindy, and our photographer, Xiao Zeng—you both were amazing! Also, it was so sweet of the team to keep me stocked up with drinkable water over the last two days; such a thoughtful gesture! 💧
The desserts were also a highlight, especially the one I had yesterday (absolutely delicious, though I feel bad for not being able to finish both! 😅).
But honestly, the room and the view are just on another level—literally breathtaking and beyond words. It’s been so hard to ‘move on’ from this experience!

GGuest UserSugar House was absolutely wonderful, very special and unique experience for us. Not only the views are beautiful here, but also the service and the people who create it! We felt absolutely caring, every staff member we met was exceptionally polite, attentive to details, and highly professional, which made our stay feel very personal and relaxed. This place is filled with tranquillity and comfort, it pays tribute to the traditions of this region and preserves the historical heritage in its appearance.
Everything is thought out to the smallest detail.
Make sure you explore the beautiful surroundings and enjoy unique activities that Yangshuo is famous for.

The overall design is sophisticated and understated luxury, with an aesthetic and quality that instantly impresses. The guest rooms are spacious and grand, with exquisite and meticulous decor, and a transparent, well-thought-out layout. The hardware is luxurious and comfortable, with attention to detail evident everywhere, making for a very pleasant stay. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices, and the food is refined, delicious, and made with fresh ingredients. The dining environment is elegant, reflecting high-end quality. The staff are warm, courteous, attentive, and efficient, making the entire experience excellent. The hotel's facilities are comprehensive and well-maintained, and the environment is clean and elegant. It's perfect for both business and leisure travel. The overall experience far surpassed what I expected and I highly recommend it!

GGuest UserBooked a room at Shangri-La Guilin via Trip.com, and my experience far exceeded expectations! The river-view room offered an amazing vista, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly overlooking the breathtaking Li River scenery. Waking up to the misty morning view felt like stepping into a painting – absolutely enchanting. Although the hotel has been open for many years, it's exceptionally well-maintained, exuding an elegant charm without feeling dated, truly showcasing the quality of a seasoned five-star establishment. I was pleasantly surprised to encounter peacocks on the grounds and even got to see one display its stunning feathers up close – it was both graceful and therapeutic. The breakfast is arguably the best among hotels in Guilin; it boasts a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options, with authentic freshly made Guilin rice noodles and quick replenishment of fresh items. The service was attentive and thoughtful throughout, making my entire stay comfortable and hassle-free. This is definitely a must-stay when visiting Guilin; I'll choose it again on my next trip!

GGuest UserThe hotel boasts stylish decor and spotlessly clean rooms. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make our trip comfortable and convenient. A special highlight was the rooftop terrace, offering breathtaking panoramic views of West Street. We were also pleasantly surprised when the bar staff offered us complimentary drinks. Highly recommended!

Same old place, same old vibe.
Rain pitter-patters, I cozy up by the fire, sip ginger tea, and gaze out the window.
Chatted with the front desk about Bo Kun; I thought he'd already left the business, but when I asked Doubao, he's still the sole shareholder.
When I visited the Xitai Guild Hall in Shaxi in 2023, Bo Kun had already stepped down.
As for Gege Tree, the Dutch couple who owned it weren't there anymore even four years ago.
Tomorrow, I'm heading to Jiuxian Village to see if Secret Garden is **still there.
