"The room was clean and tidy, with complete facilities, as the pictures prove. The room is located on the banks of the Li River; near East-West Alley, the Central Square, and Guangxi Normal University, adjacent to the Jingwang Mansion. The night view from Xiaoyao Pagoda is quite nice. Strolling along the Li River and Jiefang Bridge at night offers a unique and beautiful experience, allowing your mood to soar with the surrounding environment. The Seven Star Scenic Area features calligraphy inscriptions by historical figures, Elephant Trunk Hill Park, and the riverside scenery of Yangshuo, perfect for nature photography enthusiasts. Local cuisine, represented by restaurants like Gouweiwang and Agan Hotel, mainly focuses on fish. Breakfast includes rice noodles with braised sauce and glutinous rice – every restaurant has a great flavor, you can't go wrong. I don't usually like rice noodles, but this time I'm completely obsessed with them. If I don't eat rice noodles every morning, I feel uncomfortable – look at me! I hope everyone can experience the beauty of the Li River, where humanity and nature complement and adapt to each other without any sense of incongruity. Nature, humanity's support and protector."

"We had a beautiful stay at Secret Courtyard Resort Hotel! The hotel is beautiful, well equipped with everything we needed - fresh water and towels everyday, option to chose between Chinese and Western breakfast and delicious fruits. Xiaoming was so nice to give us the e-bikes to drive around Guilin for free and we enjoyed using them a lot! If we had any questions about the area or needed a ticket for the li yang river cruise he immediately took care of it for us. We had also had a pickup from the train station so we didn’t need to find the way to the resort on our own. It was a wonderful stay. Thanks so much from the young German man, who looks like an old German man and his girlfriend ☀️"

"It's quite unbelievable that this Guilin hotel made it to the 'luxury' category. Let's start with the pros: 1. **Excellent Location:** The hotel is perfectly situated right across from Elephant Trunk Hill Park's Gate 1, just a 3-minute walk across the street. It's also very close to the Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area, about a 15-minute walk. 2. **Convenient Amenities:** Dining and shopping options around the hotel are incredibly convenient. Dongxi Alley and Zhengyang Pedestrian Street are both within walking distance. 3. **Commendable Service:** The hotel's service is noteworthy. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, gave me a room upgrade, and even presented a souvenir when I checked out. Now for the cons: 1. **Questionable Star Rating:** The hotel claims to be a five-star property, but from the moment I saw it from the outside, it absolutely did not look like one. There's no gym, let alone a game room. The hotel only has one elevator. In mid-May, Guilin's weather is quite hot and humid, over 30 degrees Celsius, but the hotel lobby and floors didn't have the air conditioning on. Because of the heat, there were a lot of mosquitoes. Interestingly, the elevator *did* have AC, so all the mosquitoes flew into it, resulting in many bites. 2. **Outdated Facilities:** Since the hotel has been around for some time, the hardware facilities are old and damaged. Hangers, bedsheets, bath towels, etc., were visibly worn and torn (see photos). I'm not sure why, as a five-star hotel, they don't seem willing to update these, which creates a very negative impression for guests. 3. **Minor Service Issues:** There were also some small detail issues. Housekeeping service was a bit slow to respond, and coordination with the cleaning staff wasn't timely. I hope they can improve this. In summary, this hotel has both pros and cons. From its 'star' rating, it absolutely does not meet five-star standards; the hardware facilities feel more like three stars, and in some areas, even worse than hotels like All Seasons. This is a five-star hotel that doesn't live up to its name. I hope everyone considers carefully before booking; I wouldn't recommend it."

"The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right by Elephant Trunk Hill. They have a viewing deck on the rooftop with a beautiful panorama. The views from our room were picturesque, like something out of a painting, and my child really loved it. We went to Guilin during the May Day holiday, and it wasn't crowded, the air was fresh, and we had a wonderful time."

"After checking out, it was incredibly difficult to get a taxi due to the bad weather. The front desk staff were so kind and helpful, they tried their best to call a car for me. Even though the ride ultimately got canceled for various reasons and I didn't end up using it, their effort and willingness to help truly touched me. Overall, my stay was excellent, with attentive service and thoughtful details. I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. Wishing you all the best and continued success!"

"I saw online that this hotel was highly rated for its beautiful scenery, so I made a special trip here! The hotel entrance might seem unassuming, but once you step inside, it's a whole different world. The hotel is right on the Li River, where you can go fishing during the day. In the afternoon, there are even cormorant fishing interactions and traditional craft workshops, all perfect for family fun. The hotel also offers free travel photography, and we got some great family photos as a souvenir. The photographer was very professional and excellent at guiding us. The facilities are comprehensive, with a parking lot, a pool, and a kids' club. The service is also excellent; they pretty much fulfill every request! I highly recommend everyone come and experience it for yourselves!"

"The hotel is located in the city center, an absolutely fantastic location! Right outside, you'll find the Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area with stunning night views. It's also within walking distance of Elephant Trunk Hill and Ronghu Lake, which are often featured in elementary school textbooks. The Sky Mirror on the hotel's rooftop is amazing for photos, capturing all the beautiful green mountains and clear waters of Guilin. The entire Guilin landscape unfolds before your eyes, and the beautiful Li River scenery is particularly captivating. The front desk staff was very welcoming and provided excellent service during check-in. The hotel even offered a complimentary late checkout, which was great as it allowed us plenty of time for a midday rest. Highly recommend!"

"This hotel is genuinely great! I started looking at hotels while still on the high-speed train and browsed through many options before being captivated by the beautiful views this one offered. The front desk even called us in advance to ask about our arrival time and thoughtfully turned on the air conditioning for us. After checking in, a staff member helped carry our luggage to the room. On the way, he explained all the hotel's facilities. The sky garden on the seventh floor is absolutely stunning 🤩, and I even caught the sunrise there the next morning, which was truly breathtaking. Watching the Xiaoyao Tower from the sky garden at night is incredibly beautiful. The hotel's gym and laundry room are well-equipped, and the laundry room even has an ironing machine, which is a big plus! The room's interior has a retro-chic decor style, augmented with smart room controls, giving it a simple yet grand feel. The mini-fridge in the room is a nice touch and stocked with complimentary drinks. It's a pity I overslept and missed breakfast. Lastly, I personally found the room to be very quiet! Not as exaggeratedly noisy as some reviews suggested! Next time I'm in Guilin, or if friends visit Guilin, I will definitely recommend the Xinyu Hotel."

"Extremely satisfied with this hotel during my Guilin trip! As soon as I arrived, staff were there to greet me and took care of my luggage, making for a smooth check-in. The room was absolutely beautiful and spacious, but the best part was the stunning view from the bed – waking up to the misty Guilin scenery was incredible. The hotel breakfast was also delicious and offered a great variety. We also had lunch at the Cloud Restaurant, which had direct lake views from the window, and the food was excellent. The service staff were incredibly attentive (in fact, all the hotel staff had outstanding service, making us feel right at home). We also tried the travel photography experience, which was definitely worth it!"
