"Yangshuo Sugarhouse has always been a hotel I've wanted to visit, and a serendipitous opportunity finally brought me here, marking my first trip to Yangshuo. True to its pictures, it's exactly as you've seen it. Admittedly, it's no longer a new hotel, and I had some reservations beforehand, as similar-priced hotels in the same category might offer larger, more luxurious options. However, for design enthusiasts, Sugarhouse is special; it's a destination in itself. My first impression was that the hotel is reasonably well-maintained, and the service is always pleasant and attentive. I always assumed these were standard expectations in such hotels, not worth mentioning. Yet, it wasn't until I truly experienced the various facets of Yangshuo that I realized Sugarhouse is an oasis in this bustling, chaotic, and often less-than-pleasant destination. Yangshuo is beautiful, but its natural charm isn't always enough to offset some disappointing tourist experiences. You might exert a lot of effort trying to soak in the legendary landscapes, only to be left unsatisfied, perhaps due to early mornings or overwhelming crowds. But at Sugarhouse, you can intimately connect with Yangshuo's mountains and rivers, as they are right outside your room, beyond the iconic pool view. During the day, you can fully immerse yourself in nature undisturbed, and as dusk falls, the lights of Impression Liu Sanjie illuminate them, making you a part of the landscape. Finding such tranquility in this destination is incredibly precious, a realization I only had after switching to other hotels. The service here carries a hint of genuine, endearing awkwardness, and you can sense that achieving this level of service isn't easy. The bartender at 1969 Bar recommended a special concoction when I was indecisive, allowing me to savor the last season's season of loquat gin, which was unforgettable. Lucy at the front desk was incredibly helpful in resolving my issues, and when I pointed out some minor flaws in the room, they were already being addressed – truly tiny details that not everyone would notice, demonstrating their genuine care for guests. I met a gentleman at breakfast who enthusiastically and meticulously introduced me to oil tea and proactively helped me carry it to my upstairs seat when my hands were full. On my departure day, I even saw him standing at the lobby entrance at 36 degrees Celsius, assisting guests. Later, I learned he was the hotel's general manager. The people here are sincere and responsible, and what initially felt like minor imperfections transformed into a stark difference after comparison. I can give the experience here full marks. Some friends might find it too boring, with too many cars on the highway outside the rooms. But if you've experienced the endless swarm of electric scooters, the ubiquitous paid parking lots, and the so-called villas that cost 3,000 yuan with no view whatsoever, you'll realize that not only is the pricing here quite fair, but it's also almost the only viable accommodation option in Yangshuo. Of course, this is just for reference if you don't plan on venturing out, but Sugarhouse still offers many interesting services that make it a highly recommendable choice."

"This is the best hotel in Yangshuo. Compared to The Sugarcane, VOCO, Hwa Peng, and Banyan Tree, it offers the best value for money. The staff are well-trained and provide genuine assistance. Even after checking out, they continued to answer all our questions about our itinerary. We stayed in the Jingxuan Villa, which was comfortably sized with excellent facilities. The nightly turndown gifts were a lovely touch. The travel photography service was also good, and the photographer had a great attitude. The entire garden landscape is beautifully maintained, and the various small animals like peacocks, geese, ducks, goldfish, and alpacas provided a wonderful and relaxing experience for guests. If you're driving, the hotel's location isn't remote at all. It's about a 20-minute drive to the Ten-Mile Gallery, and also 20 minutes to take a bamboo raft on the Yulong River. Xingping Ancient Town Pier is only half an hour away. Personally, I think it's far superior to the guesthouses near the Ten-Mile Gallery and Yulong River – there's simply no comparison. We had a wonderful two-night, three-day stay. It left a deep impression on our trip to Yangshuo."

"This hotel chain, originating from Indonesia, might be less known in China, but my stay truly made it one of the best resort hotels in the country. Starting with 450 sqm villas, each with a private pool over 10 meters long, it already surpasses many well-known domestic hotel brands. The management has also done an excellent job training staff on service awareness. The butler was prompt and efficient, always ready to assist, and the staff's execution was strong. Throughout my three-day stay, every staff member I encountered would proactively smile and greet me. The hotel is also quite generous, offering complimentary daily minibar, fruit, cookies, and afternoon tea. They also provide inflatable floats, water guns, induction cookers, and frying pans, along with buggies and bicycles for guests' convenience. For an introvert like me, these added values are far more appealing than any elaborate 'rituals.' It's clear the hotel aims to attract guests through genuine word-of-mouth rather than relying on a 'luxury' brand premium. Overall, this is a highly recommended hotel for a quiet getaway."

"Amazing hotel with brilliant staff. The view surrounding the hotel is breathtaking. The hotel has everything (including big garden and swimming pool) and provides a 24 hour butler service via Wechat which meant someone was always answering our questions within seconds. They helped arranging food delivery into our room, booking attractions, arranging a driver to take us to Yangshuo (for free in a big air conditioned car), arranging room cleaning time when it's most convinient for us, and so much more. Thank you Kaysen and Mayling! The room was spacious with a big round bed (which turns 360 degrees and very comfortable) and a big bathtub overlooking the beautiful karst mountains. There was also a seperate big shower room, with excellent water pressure. The room and bathrooms are equipped with everything you need. The hotel provided free fruits, water to our room every day and filled up the minibar for free. We also received free afternoon tea (tea, coffee, cakes, fruits, nuts etc) each afternoon. They have also incuded a free professional photo shoot which I loved. We also received an evening dessert delivered into our room to taste the local flavours. The breakfast had great variety, excellent coffee and tea, everything I wanted and more, while enjoying the view from the restaurant. The breakfast, the lunch and dinner were all delicious so we kept having all our meals at the hotel (ordering the food several times to our room which was very convenient). They have free laundry service which can be done all by the hotel or by self service, based on the guest's requirement. I highly recommend the place."

"This hotel was the highlight of our Yangshuo trip. The hotel is newly renovated, and stunning karst peaks greet you right outside the window. The infinity pool perfectly reflects the green mountains, making every photo a postcard-worthy shot. They even have a kids' play area, which is a great bonus. The location is super convenient, close to the 'Impression Sanjie Liu' show and the Yulong River bamboo raft pier."

"Facilities: The hotel's amenities are excellent. The outdoor pool offers a fantastic view. The deer petting area has a large, open lawn, perfect for a relaxing stroll and photos. Cleanliness: The room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was comfortable, and all the details were very well-maintained. Environment: Directly facing the beautiful Karst peaks of Yangshuo, surrounded by mountains, the natural atmosphere is incredible. Every photo taken here is stunning. Service: The butler service was attentive and thoughtful, quick to respond to any requests. We also enjoyed the coffee and afternoon tea."

"The floor-to-ceiling window in the room offered an absolutely stunning view. Opening the window revealed the green mountains and the Yulong River, making for incredible photos. I specifically chose this hotel for the window view and the swimming pool, and my child absolutely loved it upon arrival. **Environment:** A thousand square meters of lawn plus an infinity pool. The mountain-and-water themed blue pool was perfect for amazing pictures. **Activities:** Free-roaming deer, daily cormorant fishing performances, lacquer fan making, and petting zoo feeding. **Food & Stay:** With its own restaurant, we spent the whole day at the hotel and didn't bother eating out. The hotel food was also excellent, and they even offered free sweet soup in the evening. It was a welcome escape from the noise of crowded guesthouses. The hotel buildings were well-equipped, and the soft furnishings, with their wooden and Instagrammable style, were top-notch. There was no need to rush. We spent the whole day leisurely, relaxing on the lawn, playing in the pool, and feeding the deer. It felt like many hotels and cafes in Yangshuo have great aesthetics, and the scenery is beautiful, but the street aesthetics are truly dismal. This was my child's first travel photoshoot. Usually, they refuse to be photographed, but the Miao ethnic costumes for the photoshoot at the hotel were beautiful and relatively clean, so we were able to get some great shots right there. Thumbs up! The shoot was quick, which was great since it was hot, allowing us to quickly get our photos and head back to the hotel for coffee."

"This stay truly exceeded my expectations! I had stunning mountain and river views right from my room, and every picture I took looked like it belonged in a magazine. The hotel environment was quiet and relaxing, the room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was incredibly comfortable. What really stood out was the service; from the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone was warm, attentive, and proactive – helping with luggage and cleaning meticulously. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit. Highly recommended!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at Tui Blue. It’s out of the hustle and bustle of West street, but only a 12yen didi there. The views are stunning, including of the romance park across the street. Front desk staff were so kind. Breakfast every morning had both Chinese and western options, including fresh noodles being made to order. This hotel takes great pride in their cleanliness and design. Room was amazing. Great views. Great air conditioning. Very comfortable bed. Great water pressure from the shower. Free mini fridge for the first round of drinks, and tea and coffee in the room. Our few things where we would recommend improvements to the hotel: - There was no working AC in the gym. - Gym should have some lighter weights too. - Gym needs a mirror. - Pool towels should be available by the pool. (Unsure if they normally are.. we went out in the rain so possibly during sun they have these readily available). - some small things need to be maintained. (Gym wall leak with mold present, painting around windows peeling off, outdoor plant maintenance, pool tidy of chairs and ensure pool inflatables are actually blown up.These small things aren’t really noticed by everybody, however as a travel agent myself it is what sets luxury hotels apart from others). Overall a really great stay. Would definitely stay again."

"Our trip to Yangshuo was quite an unexpected encounter. We had originally booked another guesthouse with the same name, but by a stroke of fate, we ended up at 'Poetry & Distance,' which was twice the price. At first, I was worried about the hassle of changing, so we decided to stay, and it turned out to be full of pleasant surprises. The hotel's location is excellent, making travel along the Yulong River incredibly convenient. You can take a taxi to Jima Pier for a bamboo raft ride, float downstream to the comprehensive pier, and then it's just a short walk back to the hotel after disembarking. No need for transfers or extra travel, making the experience very smooth. The interior design is elegant, facilities are comprehensive, and the staff service is attentive and thoughtful. The bedding in the room was what impressed me most; the memory foam pillows provided excellent support for my neck and shoulders, truly alleviating the fatigue from a day of sightseeing. The breakfast selection was rich, offering not only standard dishes but also rare delicacies like douhua (tofu pudding) and fresh mushrooms. The hotel's amenities are extensive, including a swimming pool, singing bowl healing sessions, and craft workshops. In the evening, I experienced the singing bowl sound therapy led by a young man; the clear and lingering bowl sounds soothed the restlessness of travel. Listening to it before bed was calming and helped with sleep. The only minor drawback was a slight odor from the tatami mat in the room. After my child's clothes were left on it overnight, his skin became itchy after he put them on the next day. I suspect the mat might be damp or harbor small insects. If they could improve ventilation, mite removal, and deep cleaning of the mat, the experience would be almost perfect. Overall, this is a beautiful guesthouse full of poetic charm, with warm service and a convenient location. Highly recommended."
