"Yangshuo Sugarhouse has always been a hotel I've wanted to visit, and a serendipitous opportunity finally brought me here, marking my first trip to Yangshuo. True to its pictures, it's exactly as you've seen it. Admittedly, it's no longer a new hotel, and I had some reservations beforehand, as similar-priced hotels in the same category might offer larger, more luxurious options. However, for design enthusiasts, Sugarhouse is special; it's a destination in itself. My first impression was that the hotel is reasonably well-maintained, and the service is always pleasant and attentive. I always assumed these were standard expectations in such hotels, not worth mentioning. Yet, it wasn't until I truly experienced the various facets of Yangshuo that I realized Sugarhouse is an oasis in this bustling, chaotic, and often less-than-pleasant destination. Yangshuo is beautiful, but its natural charm isn't always enough to offset some disappointing tourist experiences. You might exert a lot of effort trying to soak in the legendary landscapes, only to be left unsatisfied, perhaps due to early mornings or overwhelming crowds. But at Sugarhouse, you can intimately connect with Yangshuo's mountains and rivers, as they are right outside your room, beyond the iconic pool view. During the day, you can fully immerse yourself in nature undisturbed, and as dusk falls, the lights of Impression Liu Sanjie illuminate them, making you a part of the landscape. Finding such tranquility in this destination is incredibly precious, a realization I only had after switching to other hotels. The service here carries a hint of genuine, endearing awkwardness, and you can sense that achieving this level of service isn't easy. The bartender at 1969 Bar recommended a special concoction when I was indecisive, allowing me to savor the last season's season of loquat gin, which was unforgettable. Lucy at the front desk was incredibly helpful in resolving my issues, and when I pointed out some minor flaws in the room, they were already being addressed – truly tiny details that not everyone would notice, demonstrating their genuine care for guests. I met a gentleman at breakfast who enthusiastically and meticulously introduced me to oil tea and proactively helped me carry it to my upstairs seat when my hands were full. On my departure day, I even saw him standing at the lobby entrance at 36 degrees Celsius, assisting guests. Later, I learned he was the hotel's general manager. The people here are sincere and responsible, and what initially felt like minor imperfections transformed into a stark difference after comparison. I can give the experience here full marks. Some friends might find it too boring, with too many cars on the highway outside the rooms. But if you've experienced the endless swarm of electric scooters, the ubiquitous paid parking lots, and the so-called villas that cost 3,000 yuan with no view whatsoever, you'll realize that not only is the pricing here quite fair, but it's also almost the only viable accommodation option in Yangshuo. Of course, this is just for reference if you don't plan on venturing out, but Sugarhouse still offers many interesting services that make it a highly recommendable choice."

In the scorching summer, with the emerald Li River, this small corner of paradise hidden by the river's edge is a delightful surprise, like a haven from the world!"

"Hidden deep within the Ten-Mile Gallery, this hotel completely isolates itself from the hustle and bustle of the outside world. The sense of escapism, in my opinion, is almost comparable to the Lux* Chongzuo, making for a truly satisfying vacation. As a well-established luxury brand originating from Indonesia, it's impressive how it has rooted itself amidst the natural beauty of Yangshuo while still deeply preserving its Indonesian heritage. For instance, the breakfast features an Indonesian-style set menu, all freshly prepared à la carte. The guest room walls are adorned with traditional Balinese Ubud Batik wax paintings. During turndown service at night, candles are lit to warm aromatic essential oils, replicating the local Balinese pre-sleep ritual. The pool is paved with unique Indonesian stone, appearing grey when dry but revealing a beautiful blue-green hue when submerged in water. The hotel's service and quality are exceptional: the butler's WhatsApp replies were prompt, and despite the high greenery coverage, I wasn't bitten by a single mosquito during my two-day stay, indicating excellent pest control. The 450 sqm single-bedroom standalone villa is spacious, and the private pool is ample in both size and depth. Amenities include Cha Ling toiletries, a brand under LV, and the rooms are equipped with Bose speakers and Laifen hair dryers, ensuring top-notch hardware. It's rare for a hotel to maintain its original quality and standards after many years of operation, unlike many domestic hotels that gradually cut costs and downgrade after just a year or two. If you're looking for an immersive escape into nature in Yangshuo, I truly believe this place is worth a special trip. At the very least, if I get another chance to visit Yangshuo, this will still be my go-to resort for a second stay."

"Absolutely stunning! This hotel makes you feel like you're living in a fairytale. The incredibly huge and wide floor-to-ceiling windows offer a 270-degree view, a panorama so vast even a phone's wide-angle lens can't capture it all. The scenery truly becomes a part of your room. The misty sunrise in the morning, combined with the sounds of chickens and dogs, creates a pastoral haven, a true escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The hotel service is meticulous and flexible, offering private car and travel photography services."

"The hotel is newly renovated, offering an elegant and comfortable atmosphere with stunning, expansive views that truly uplift your spirit. It's also very kid-friendly, featuring a dedicated children's play area where little ones can have a blast. The outdoor area is absolutely incredible, with a pool right next to a large lawn and continuous mountain ranges in the distance, providing uninterrupted natural beauty. The room's soundproofing is excellent, ensuring a quiet night and a very peaceful sleep. Plus, the oversized bathtub in the room is perfect for a truly relaxing soak."

"This is by far the most satisfying hotel I've booked for my Yangshuo trip. The view of the mountains from the window is exquisite and truly special. Staying here makes you feel so relaxed and happy. Plus, since I was traveling with kids, the children's playground was a lifesaver, giving me some much-needed free time. You absolutely have to visit the cafe on the third floor; enjoying afternoon tea there with the stunning views is just incredible. Go for it!"

"We really enjoyed our stay at Tui Blue. It’s out of the hustle and bustle of West street, but only a 12yen didi there. The views are stunning, including of the romance park across the street. Front desk staff were so kind. Breakfast every morning had both Chinese and western options, including fresh noodles being made to order. This hotel takes great pride in their cleanliness and design. Room was amazing. Great views. Great air conditioning. Very comfortable bed. Great water pressure from the shower. Free mini fridge for the first round of drinks, and tea and coffee in the room. Our few things where we would recommend improvements to the hotel: - There was no working AC in the gym. - Gym should have some lighter weights too. - Gym needs a mirror. - Pool towels should be available by the pool. (Unsure if they normally are.. we went out in the rain so possibly during sun they have these readily available). - some small things need to be maintained. (Gym wall leak with mold present, painting around windows peeling off, outdoor plant maintenance, pool tidy of chairs and ensure pool inflatables are actually blown up.These small things aren’t really noticed by everybody, however as a travel agent myself it is what sets luxury hotels apart from others). Overall a really great stay. Would definitely stay again."

"The floor-to-ceiling window in the room offered an absolutely stunning view. Opening the window revealed the green mountains and the Yulong River, making for incredible photos. I specifically chose this hotel for the window view and the swimming pool, and my child absolutely loved it upon arrival. **Environment:** A thousand square meters of lawn plus an infinity pool. The mountain-and-water themed blue pool was perfect for amazing pictures. **Activities:** Free-roaming deer, daily cormorant fishing performances, lacquer fan making, and petting zoo feeding. **Food & Stay:** With its own restaurant, we spent the whole day at the hotel and didn't bother eating out. The hotel food was also excellent, and they even offered free sweet soup in the evening. It was a welcome escape from the noise of crowded guesthouses. The hotel buildings were well-equipped, and the soft furnishings, with their wooden and Instagrammable style, were top-notch. There was no need to rush. We spent the whole day leisurely, relaxing on the lawn, playing in the pool, and feeding the deer. It felt like many hotels and cafes in Yangshuo have great aesthetics, and the scenery is beautiful, but the street aesthetics are truly dismal. This was my child's first travel photoshoot. Usually, they refuse to be photographed, but the Miao ethnic costumes for the photoshoot at the hotel were beautiful and relatively clean, so we were able to get some great shots right there. Thumbs up! The shoot was quick, which was great since it was hot, allowing us to quickly get our photos and head back to the hotel for coffee."

"The hotel facilities are brand new, and the surrounding scenery is absolutely stunning. The staff are friendly, and while the breakfast selection isn't huge, the food is all tasty and filling. There are even late-night noodles! The rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views. On the ground floor, there's a pool and kids' play area, so you can easily spend the whole day here just relaxing without needing to go out. When it's not too sunny, you can snap amazing photos effortlessly. There's a small gate near the pet park; turn right when you exit, and you'll find a path lined with lotus flowers. But don't look around too much right after you step out; walk about twenty or thirty meters first. There's something you shouldn't see, so remember that, remember that, remember that, remember that!"

"My classmate stayed here last month and recommended it. It truly offers great value for money. The hotel itself has a rich array of facilities and entertainment options, including a swimming pool, a large lawn, a small petting zoo, parking, a laundry room, and a bathroom with a dry/wet separation – everything you could ask for. Our booking package also included animal feeding, travel photography, afternoon tea at the scenic restaurant, kite flying, fishing, and more. At the end of the large lawn is the Yulong River, and bamboo rafts occasionally pass by comprehensive docks (a bonus: we personally tested and negotiated with a rafter, and there’s a chance to disembark directly onto the large lawn near the hotel). The panoramic restaurant on the top floor is incredibly photogenic, with beautiful mountains and rivers, plush teddy bears, and swings – very satisfying. It's rare to find a restaurant that stands out with its hardware and layout while also maintaining high culinary standards. We got a basic set meal with beer fish, and every single dish was delicious. What a dream place! As for drawbacks, my family of four was split 2-2 on whether to mention them, but I will. We couldn't quite figure out how to properly use the washing machine; in the sterilization mode, the lettering on my son's windbreaker and Manchester City T-shirt washed off (as an Arsenal fan, I feel for him 🐶). Also, for friends like us with a limited budget who didn't book a room facing the large lawn and swimming pool, opting for the more affordable family room instead, there's a slight gradient between the floor around the bathtub and the main room floor. This made it easy to trip near the bathtub. Our family of four stumbled four times over our three-day, two-night stay, hahaha! But thankfully, the slope is minor, so it was just a stumble, not a fall. Minor flaws aside, it was a perfect trip to Yangshuo, and we'll choose this place again next time. Oh, and a funny anecdote: when feeding the animals, there was a grey sheep that was incredibly smart and a super aggressive eater. It fearlessly snatched food from deer and alpacas that were much taller than it, and effortlessly bullied smaller sheep. It was so quick, it would open its mouth and snatch carrots right out of other animals' mouths. To ensure the other hungry little lambs got some food, I had my two kids work together: one distracted the grey sheep, and the other fed the other lambs. After a few attempts, the grey sheep caught on and even let out a long sigh – this was the biggest winner-take-all eater on the whole farm!"
