"This Yangshuo hotel is absolutely stunning! The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a direct view of the karst peaks; opening the window feels like stepping into a traditional Chinese landscape painting. In the mornings, the mountains are shrouded in mist – no filter needed for photos! The room was spotless, the bedding was soft, and there was plenty of hot water. The front desk staff were very attentive, proactively recommending touring routes. It's also very close to the Yulong River pier, making travel convenient. The environment is serene and quiet, far from the hustle and bustle of West Street. The value for money is incredible. This is my top choice for Yangshuo; I'll definitely stay here again next time!"

"We stayed here for 2 days. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Everything was clean, and the furniture and appliances felt new. The most important thing was the AMAZING view of the mountains and the river — it was truly unforgettable to wake up to such a view from the window. The hotel staff were polite and very helpful"

"This place offers great view of the ten mile gallery. Breakfast & high tea provided with night deserts daily. It would be great if the menu are different daily. Transfer is provided within the 5km but only selected place designated by the hotel only it would be great if they provide transfer to and from hotel as they have many cars available. Unfortunately, they were shot of drivers. Within the radius of their amenities, e-bikes are easily rented. Last but not least, free photoshoot by their professional photographer Jia Jia was nice. Thank you."

"I was incredibly satisfied with this hotel, I absolutely loved it. The receptionist was very kind and even helped carry my luggage to the room. The room was beautiful, clean, and had a balcony with a great view. The room's amenities and supplies were very tasteful, and the bed was so comfortable, I had a good night's sleep every night. The café on the 5th floor offers stunning views of the Li River and the surrounding mountains. There's free afternoon tea every day, and you can even try on traditional ethnic costumes for photos. It's close to West Street, so you can easily explore the night market in the evenings. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious, especially the Guilin rice noodles. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit."

"The room was very nice in itself; however, we had one learning curve: if it rains, since we had the top floor, it would be difficult to sleep because rainfall is quite intense and the roof is windows:) This aside, the views were impeccable and the room was very nice and spacious. Also hotel staff helped us arrange activities at an adequate and non-aggressive price, which were among the highlights of our 3 weeks trip across China."

"The best hotel experience in China for me . The view from the room is incredible . Make sure to choose a room with view if it’s available. It’s well worth it . The location of the hotel is great. I didn’t want to in the busy west street area but close enough to reach there when I needed . It’s a short 6-7 min bike ride. It’s easy to use the e-bikes and the hotel has offers them at a fair rate. You should definetly go out to explore with them. Also the team is friendly , smiley. Especially the lady who did my check in and who was there during the day time was very helpful . Had some good suggestions , and always response def on WeChat . There is also laundry service available . Having a drier would have been helpful but it was ok ."

The guest room and work area were spacious, the internet speed was stable and smooth, hot water was available 24 hours a day, housekeeping replenished toiletries regularly, and commuting was very convenient. The room was spotless, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and there were many restaurants nearby, so dining options were plentiful. The hotel had complete facilities, the breakfast was fresh and plentiful, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a quiet rest after work. Excellent value for money, a top choice for business trips, and I will definitely stay here again!"

"I chose to stay at Yangshuo Mountain Retreat largely because of the owner, Little Fish. What stood out to me before booking was how she takes the time to personally respond to every single review. That level of care and pride in the property really came through—and it is fully reflected in the guest experience. I stayed in Room 207, which offered a perfect vantage point of the Yulong River. I spent hours on the balcony simply watching bamboo rafts drift past against the dramatic karst mountains—it was incredibly peaceful and almost meditative. The retreat itself feels authentic and deeply rooted in the local community. It is entirely run by people from nearby villages, with over 90% of the team being women. Much of the food is sourced directly from the families of the staff who have farms, which makes the entire experience feel personal and sustainable. What impressed me further was hearing from local Didi drivers, who also spoke very highly of the resort. They shared that many of the staff have been there for years, a testament to how well the owner treats her team. It’s clear that Little Fish sees them as family—taking them on holidays and ensuring they are well looked after. That kind of culture is rare and truly shows in the warmth of the service. With only 34 rooms, the property feels wonderfully intimate and quiet—ideal if you’re looking to disconnect. The setting is nothing short of spectacular, with uninterrupted views of one of the most beautiful stretches of the Yulong River. The food also deserves special mention. Both the Chinese and Western options were excellent, and we ended up having all our meals at the hotel. Portions were generous, and when we couldn’t finish the famous Bamboo Chicken, the staff kindly offered to keep it for our next meal—a thoughtful gesture that perfectly reflects their hospitality. Overall, this is far more than just a place to stay. It’s an experience built on genuine care, community, and natural beauty. I would return without hesitation"

"Choosing this hotel for our vacation was absolutely the right decision! The overall design is fantastic, and opening the window reveals stunning, expansive mountain views. The infinity pool overlooks the mountains, so no filters are needed for photos. The staff, from check-in to subsequent service, were attentive and thoughtful. The breakfast selection was much richer than I expected, even the local specialty snacks were very authentic. It's super convenient for sightseeing and buying souvenirs nearby. After staying for three days, I really didn't want to leave! I've already recommended this place to all my friends who are planning a trip to Guilin Yangshuo. I'd seen comments about toilet cleanliness issues before, but during my stay, I didn't encounter any such problems. Instead, I found the bathrooms to be clean and tidy, with no hidden spots for grime. I later learned that the previous toilets, due to using well water, developed yellow stains and limescale in the water reservoir over long-term use that was impossible to clean. To ensure a better and more comfortable guest experience, the hotel promptly ordered and replaced all the old toilets with new ones. They even completely switched the hotel's water supply to municipal water. The hotel's efficiency is truly impressive! I highly recommend this place to anyone planning a trip soon!"
