"The Honglongjing branch in Dali Ancient City is absolutely amazing! 📍 The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Honglongjing Pedestrian Street. Step outside and you're greeted by a gently flowing stream, and you can look up to see the Cangshan mountains. It's just a few minutes' walk to Fuxing Road, the main street, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. 🏡 The ambiance is perfect! The Bai ethnic architectural style blends seamlessly with modern design. The courtyard with its flowing water, flagstone paths, and red lanterns makes every photo Instagram-worthy. At night, when the lights come on, the atmosphere is simply magical, giving off a 'Spirited Away' kind of dreaminess. 💁 The service is incredibly thoughtful! The staff are warm and professional, proactively offering tips on nearby attractions and local delicacies. Their attention to detail really shines through, like providing local snacks and complimentary tea. 🍽️ The overall experience is fantastic! Whether it's the comfortable rooms, the aromatic coffee at the cafe, or the authentic Bai cuisine at the restaurant, everything leaves a lasting impression. It offers excellent value for money. "We absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City. The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions. What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere. A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of. Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases. For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us. Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨"

"I forgot to take pictures, but the room was really big and beautiful, and you could get some sun in the mornings. The guesthouse is inside the ancient city but not in the busiest area, so it's very quiet at night. Taxis can drop you right at the entrance, and it's close to everything for exploring. The large bathtub was great for a relaxing soak, and the air conditioning had a heating function, plus there was an electric blanket. A special shout-out to the young man who runs the place; he was super responsive whenever we had a question and even lent us his e-scooter."

"This guesthouse is located on the edge of Dali Ancient City, nestled on a hillside, offering stunning panoramic views of Erhai Lake and the mountains. It's truly beautiful. The owner has decorated the rooms to resemble a Monet garden, filled with beautiful flowers and plants. Plus, it's super close to Dali Ancient City, making getting around very convenient. The front desk and staff are incredibly welcoming; they gave us directions and helped with our luggage. The breakfast lady was also very friendly, proactively asking us what we'd like for breakfast the next day and if we could tell her in advance. I genuinely love it here. It feels like a garden, like a castle. From the room, you can see the mountains and the sea – absolutely gorgeous!"

"I rarely review hotels, but I have to say, the service here was incredibly warm and welcoming. The staff member who helped me from check-in, carrying my luggage to the room, was fantastic. When they heard we were leaving early, they even offered us a light meal. The hotel's location inside the old town is bustling and full of life; you can step right out and explore the morning market. For those driving, getting around in the morning can be a bit tricky, as parking is on the public roads within their residential area. An attendant places payment slips, but the hotel conveniently covers the parking fees, so you don't have to worry about it. Their breakfast hours are from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, which is a little later than usual. However, if you need to leave early, just inform the front desk, and they'll prepare a simple meal for you and even provide complimentary rice noodles from the shop across the street. My room faced the street, which was lively, but the hotel has installed four layers of soundproof glass, so it was surprisingly quiet once the windows were closed – the soundproofing is quite good. Dali's air is dry, so you can ask the front desk for a humidifier. The hotel's design is very chic and elegant, perfect for taking photos. The afternoon tea was also lovely, with freshly ground coffee that smelled wonderful. While the hotel doesn't offer lunch or dinner, there are plenty of eateries nearby. You can also ask the owner for a food guide; the recommended mushroom hot pot and Yunnanese restaurants were especially delicious. Although there isn't a 24-hour front desk, the butler adds you on WeChat and shares their phone number, which is available 24/7, so you can contact them anytime you need. I highly recommend asking the owner for their local tips to avoid any tourist traps."

"Had a fantastic stay! A big shout-out to the staff for helping with my luggage – I didn't have to lift a finger, which I really appreciated. The coffee made by the lovely lady at the front desk was delicious, and the views from the 5th floor were perfect for photos. Breakfast could be delivered to the room, which was a nice touch. The front desk lady also recommended a great driver who was incredibly helpful and answered all our questions throughout the trip. Excellent service all around!
