Even the most budget-friendly room types were great, and my friend's upgraded room was even more beautiful! Overall, I'm truly satisfied and took many lovely photos. "For this trip, I booked two family suites. The rooms were very spacious and even had a balcony, which was perfect for enjoying tea and conversation. The hotel offered pick-up and drop-off service, and the staff helped us with our luggage throughout, saving us a lot of heavy lifting. Also, Dali had continuous rain a while back, so some of the window sills had a bit of paint peeling. I originally just wanted the housekeeper to clean up the dust, but I was surprised at how quickly the hotel communicated internally. The front desk staff immediately arranged for a simple repair to prevent further dust, and their response speed was excellent – highly commendable! The hotel's own restaurant was great for when we didn't want to go out to eat, and the prices were very reasonable. Guests even get a discount. If the weather had been good, you could watch the sunrise directly from the balcony. Unfortunately, the clouds were a bit thick this time, so I didn't get to see the sun jump over the mountaintop. If I get the chance to visit Dali again, I'll definitely choose to stay here. The location is convenient for visiting both Haidong and Haixi."

"This was my first time in Yunnan, and I specifically chose this guesthouse because it's right next to a police station. The front desk staff was incredibly welcoming, helping us with our luggage and giving us great tips for sightseeing. The courtyard is spacious and quiet, and it's only about a ten-minute walk to the ancient city. I really wished I could have stayed another day or two if my itinerary wasn't already set. Coming back around 11 PM, almost all the streetlights were off, but the guesthouse still had a super bright light on at the entrance, which I found incredibly thoughtful. We woke up late, and the kitchen had thoughtfully saved breakfast for us. The breakfast was very plentiful and made fresh by local aunties. Their human touch really surpasses many large hotels. If I ever come back to Dali, or if friends visit, I will definitely highly recommend this guesthouse."

"Firstly the location is excellent, right near one of the gates into the ancient city. The street it is on is very busy with restaurants and shops all the way along, yet the rooms are quiet. The room was a very good size and the whole asthetics are pleasing and different. The bed was comfortable with air conditioning that you could control. I would have like some tea or coffee available for use as it is a basic thing and not available even at breakfast, AND there is so much tea and coffee shops around. I will say I saw some tea set up at the lobby area, but because no English was spoken by any staff, I am guessing they simply were not able to translate. The staff at the front desk were friendly and sent me a pre written message in English telling me about breakfast (limited but useful and quite nice). The only gripe about the room was the musty smell from the bathroom, and while the little window was open to ventelate the room, it was noisy from outside...so shutting the window at night solved the issue. Towels etc were changed every day and were nice quality. The curtains were good for blocking out light and I had 3 good nights sleep. There are nice little areas to sit and there is a nice little garden with views from the roof. Overall, this is a good hotel with only minor things being of any issue. The location and asthetics are excellent."

"This is by far the most comfortable hotel I've stayed at in Dali. It's designed with a beautiful garden aesthetic, and the air is just amazing. The whole hotel feels like a grand estate. The staff are so warm and attentive. The facilities are incredibly comprehensive: a book bar, a regular bar, a sports hall, a restaurant, and a gym (with tons of equipment, which I, as someone who works out daily, absolutely loved!). "The weather during my stay in Dali was quite disappointing, with continuous rain. However, I was lucky enough to book this hotel. Even with bad weather, I could spend the entire day in the room, enjoying the 270-degree panoramic views. It truly helped me escape the city's hustle and bustle and experience Dali's slow pace and tranquility. Although I didn't get to see Dali's sunny skies or the Tyndall effect, I did enjoy the 'blue hour' from the hotel in the evening. It was hard to leave on the last day! Their service was also impeccable. They proactively helped with luggage upon arrival and offered airport shuttle services. On my first day, I was able to check in successfully even before the official check-in time. When I mentioned I hadn't had breakfast, they thoughtfully prepared two portions for me. "The service was great; the owner was very welcoming, brought us various amounts of snacks upon our arrival, and tried his best to communicate with us despite the language barrier. He even offered us breakfast outside of normal hours so we could eat before catching an early train. The room was very worth the price and very spacious with great amenities such as an automated toilet, a projector, and an AI assistant to control the lights and blinds. The room had no odor and offered a great view. There was also some type of alarm system chain which we found very reassuring in terms of security at night. The owner also personally prepares the breakfast. There are lots of activities offered in the communal room such as an automated mahjong table as well as afternoon tea. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this place."

"Fantastic boutique hotel close to Dali old town. The decor of the hotel is minimilst which we liked. The hair dryer in the room was a Dyson which really impressed my girlfriend. 😁 We stayed in just a normal double room which was quite spacious. There are bigger and more luxurious rooms available if you want. The location is really good for Dali old town and it is only a 5 minute walk away."

Warm Light by Erhai Lake Once again, we say goodbye with that familiar ache of reluctance in our hearts. Yet this farewell is softened by a unexpected tenderness—a beautiful twist of fate. A sudden bout of altitude sickness in Lijiang forced us to alter our plans and return to Dali. Little did we know this detour would lead us to the most wonderful surprise: XingMu Villa, tucked away on the green slopes of Haidong. Perhaps this was destiny's gentle hand at work all along? We were truly blessed to meet the villa's kind-hearted owners, whose genuine warmth made us feel as though we had returned to a home we never knew we had. The goodbye was especially moving. When our driver, Master He, arrived, the owners personally came out to see us off. We shared joyful smiles in a farewell photo, and they gifted us my favorite rose tea—a touching gesture I'll always remember. The hostess, aware of my recent knee injury, carefully helped me into the car, her eyes filled with such sincere care, as if I were her own. When she said how much she enjoyed hosting us and how special we were to her, my heart echoed every word. Though every wonderful journey must eventually end, the memories we've made here will stay with us forever. As our car carried us away, the gentle scent of rose tea still lingered, a fragrant reminder of this heartwarming chapter. Until we meet again, XingMu Villa. May you continue to shine brightly, and may every traveler who finds their way to your doors experience the same extraordinary warmth that embraced us during our stay.

This stay exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and tidy, with a fantastic frontline sea view. The floor-to-ceiling windows offered breathtaking scenery of Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, truly healing. The butler was attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay, providing warm and detailed service. The package included a rich breakfast, an exquisite afternoon tea, and a complimentary travel photoshoot. Summary: A very satisfying trip. This hotel is located near the Erhai Lake Greenway, offering beautiful scenery and a peaceful environment with fewer tourists. Parking is convenient, about 200 meters away. The greenway is perfect for cycling; you can reach the 'Most Beautiful Kilometer of Erhai' in about ten kilometers. Xizhou Ancient Town is also just a 2-kilometer bike ride away. Due to certain circumstances during our stay, the owner upgraded us to a courtyard room on the first floor of Building B. The room's amenities were excellent, and we even got to see the sunrise in the morning. Finally, the breakfast and afternoon tea, although not extensive in variety, were exquisite. Highly recommended.

We chose Coco as our butler for our trip to Dali, and the hotel was a pleasant surprise! Check-in at the front desk was efficient and quick, and the staff were incredibly helpful, even offering thoughtful advice on travel routes and reminding us about the tidal lane in advance, which made our self-drive smooth and safe. The guest room was meticulously cleaned, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent – I slept soundly until morning. The hotel is close to the ancient city, making it very convenient for shopping and dining. Both the facilities and services are top-notch. I truly recommend it to all travelers.

We drove there, and there are parking spaces on the ground, plus a large underground parking lot. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the old town, so you'll need a taxi or car to get there, which is a bit far. There's an indoor pool open from 7 AM to 10 PM. We went swimming at noon, and it wasn't crowded. There's also a play area for small children and a gym for fitness enthusiasts, which is great – perfect for relaxing at the hotel after a day of activities. The bonfire party was also lively, from 8 PM to 9 PM, and the elderly enjoyed dancing.

Cangshan No. 1 is a hotel with advanced concepts. The management model is a team of butlers who create a feeling of home for guests and think of everything in front of them. One day in Haidong, as if living in a picture frame I stayed in Kunming for two days on the weekend to escape from work Originally, I planned to stay in Haixi for two nights. By coincidence, I had dinner with an old friend at this hotel. I was shocked by the sunset in the restaurant. The B&B I stayed in during my trip to Dali was truly a delightful experience! The moment we opened the door, the two rows of purple Clivia orchids were breathtakingly beautiful. The courtyard room we booked was even more charming, private, and cozy. The B&B is located in a prime neighborhood with clear signage and a luxurious feel. The B&B is conveniently located, making it easy to reach Cangshan Mountain, Erhai Lake, and the city center, especially without lugging luggage.
